Well, shandromand, I finally got my chainmaille chains straight. Yep, Jens Pind is definitely not the same..LOL. and I noticed this time on the 3n1, going from Right to left is so much easier... Your video is very clear. I figured out that even the Jens Pind is really the Spiral, depending on what size ring you use. I'm on a 2mm ID, 20g. and do both styles, without them winding up in the yard..:) Great video, I still refer to it, to make sure I'm still on the right track.

I spent 2 weeks and lots of nasty words scouring the net for a tutorial for "reverse" 3 in 1. Turns out no one can decide which is right and which is reverse. SO frustrating! ! Your video of both of them together saved my sanity..... :)
I think when you started to add the rings, you used 2 rather than 1 to begin with. After that initial one then you add 2 rings one closed on 1 open. Just my thoughts but must say the clearest tutorial for me so a big thank you!
Thank You, I can finally see it. I need more hands still and bigger rings might be easier till I get it! I think you didn't flip that ring on the fist one that didn't look quite right, you had all the rings headed the same way, just laid sidways. But, this made it much easier.
A great tutorial. I'm getting back into chainmaille and this 3 in 1 brought back memories. I'm stuck between Jens Pend and 3 in 1 Half Persian..they seem to be the same? Do you have a video on Jens Pend?
Additional commentary as the video progresses along would be REALLY helpful. As it is, I got frustration and trash. One of these days I will overcome shortcomings where this weave is concerned!
I actually think the left handed is a bit easier. And if you slip the new ring from the back you can actually add the next closed ring there too. Thanks for the video! Ive seen a few where people are starting with 2-1 and wasnt sure how they called it 3-1
Great tutorial! I got incredibly frustrated after reading umpteenth tutorials and several videos, but this one showed clearly what to do... and I also appreciate the tips! Heck, I even got my son doing it now based on your instructions! One tiny hickup though... maybe it's just my weird brain, but I can't figure out how to connect the two sides of the finished chain by mailing them together?! Any tips or (dare I say it) maybe a video?
Jens Pind is most definitely not the same, and way way WAY more frustrating. I've thrown it across the room in disgust several times now, so nay, alas, no video. I'm sure there are others that have videos up though. Happy mailling!
I keep trying but for some reason I just can't grasp this weave. A few years ago I managed one inch of it and abandoned it after that. It just doesn't look right when I try and do it. I have to pin it down to try and keep it straight and I'm still having trouble. Managed an entire necklace of Jens Pind but this one still confounds me.
You can do JP?? I have tried numerous times and have to give up before I destroy something valuable (like my apartment). Some people find it helpful to string up a bunch of closed rings in a horizontal line and weave it that way. I tried to learn it that way and couldn't make it work. I'm sure I could figure it out now that I'm used to the pattern. I'll see if I can make a video. :)
large rings make it easier to follow. i turn off the sound as its just a distraction. im making anodized rings to simplify my practice. organized is efficient. 🤣🤣🤣 thanks!
Good lord, they need to invent a clamp specifically for chainmaille bracelet making, because I have such shaky hands, I can never loop the rings through steadily and I always fuck the whole thing up, I can't even get it started -_-
