I love my shark set! I have long, thick and a lot of hair and It dries my hair super fast! I love the curls it gives me, the barrel size is perfect for heavy hair. I am in my 50s and holding a tool to dry or curl my hair is becoming a challenge, so I appreciate how light this tool is and fast. Great review!! Thank you

I had a Bondi Boost blowout brush, it was great. Super effective and quick, but after a year I had to retire it since it started to smell burnt and I didn’t want to risk it catching fire.

I think any tool that claims to cause no damage is stretching the truth- there’s always a risk with excessive heat. I think these tools have been less damaging to my hair than a traditional curling iron, but both of their hot settings felt pretty equal to me. I would doubt that it’s any less damaging
I got gifted the Dyson for my birthday and i absolutely love it. That being said, i would not have bought it myself because the prize is just too much for me. I love having it and it makes styling my hair a lot easier but i totally understand not being able to justify paying that much money for a hair tool.
I’ve had my dyson for about 4 years and I love it. I just feel that it just depends how each individual likes to style their hair. I use multiple attachments since I have curly hair … First I smooth and then I curl and finish my bangs with the round brush. I do prefer the long attachments, I upgraded to the long ones when they came out

As someone also with very long fine hair and lots of it, "curls" don't last with my airwrap. I've been curious about the flexstyle if it was any better so I'm glad to know it's really the same. I did just want to point out I have one of the og airwraps so mine has the 2 barrels you have to switch out depending on which direction you need exactly like your shark. I don't have the long barrels tho and am curious about those (but again after watching your video glad to hear it doesn't seem to make that much of a difference) 😊 Oh and i wanted to add with my og airwrap the hair dryer attachment is different than the one you had and i do enjoy it!
Great review! If you have a costco membership you can get even more attachments and a case for the same price or cheaper than what's listed online for the shark
Hey Kathryn, love your videos and I know I’m a bit late but in case you’re interested the brand T3 Micro came out with a Airwrap dupe thats the same price as the Shark but its attachments are ceramic. I’d love to see you do a review on the T3 Micro tool. P.S. If you don’t want to switch the barrels when you change sides for curling just flip the device upside down so that the arrow is facing away from your face and the barrel js facing down, which personally I find works better as someone with waist length hair because my ends tend to slip down the barrel when using it with the barrel facing upwards.
I could tell you did one half of your hair with Shark and the other half with Dyson before you mentioned it in the video and I guessed correctly which side was the Dyson. It looks nicer than the side done with Shark. Unfortunately I can’t even get my hair to hold curls with a standard curling wand with heat so if your curls didn’t last too long with either of these then there is no hope for me 😂. I was entertained just by watching the video. ❤
I do agree the Dyson side curls are more defined (the barrel is smaller) but I like the shark brush and dryer more so it’s overall not worth 2x the price! I also recently got a hair cut and the shark holds a lot better now 😂
I just got the shark that originally is $320 for $191 plus taxes from their website, it is on sale right now but I also added a promo code for the 4th of July that I received to my email and the 10% promo code I received by registering at their website 😊 I can’t justify the $600 for Dyson and for $191 I believe it is worth it, I’m so excited to receive mine. As for the case I plan on getting one from Amazon 😂 or you can get a shark that is as pretty as the Dyson but it is $50

I've had the dyson airwrap for a few years, the original one didnt keep my hair curled as much. BUT the drying head had stronger air. The updated one is better for curls but it is more for wavy, not actual curls bc throughout the day it will straighten out (also bc I have straight hair) but it does carry a nice volume. For ppl who are too lazy to blow dry their hair or have thin hair like me I appreciate the weight of the dyson airwrap
I am planning to give my wife a hair dryer for her birthday. I was decided to buy the Dyson, but a friend told me to look up the shark. I am almost convinced to buy now the shark, and use the difference to buy her something else. My wife has really straight hair. I don’t want to waste money but i also want to give her a really good gift. So what do you girls think i should do?. I am lost when it comes to female appliances😅.
I’ve been considering getting one of these because I use the revlon brush a lot and like the look but hate the lack of temperature control but honestly they just don’t seem to offer enough improvement for the price tag.
If you’re just using it for the brush I wouldn’t say it’s worth the upgrade, but if you would use the curling attachment and hair dryer too I’d say yes

As the owner of hair down to my butt that is very fine but theres a lot of it, I dont own either, I did contemplate the Shark but I also do not have good hand grip strength and wonder about the actual weight of the device and whether I'd even be able to hold it up while doing my hair.
@@KathrynMueller Yeah my hair does not do curl, I've tried small barrel curling irons, perms and layers and my hair just goes nope, straight please lol, even if I wash it, dry it, brush it and immediately twist it ip into a chignon and leave it all day, taking it out at night theres a vague wave to it lol

I got the shark, but I have a very obsessive brain that tends to obsess with specific things for no reason. the only disadvantage i found so far is the horrible button placement and the fact that it's very loud, shark seems to be more powerful with airflow I think? I have a thermal camera so i'll do some comparison. the shark seems to be 70c-90c-130c depending on the heat setting at the bottom 1/3rd of the curling barrel and 50-40c at the top portion of the curling barrel. so the heat damage claims seem to be baseless too. When I style my hair , it always returns to it's natural state very fast. this happens with a flat iron too, it looks very flat for like 3 hours and then immediately it looks as if I just washed my hair again! I'm very new to this whole hair styling thing!

Yes definitely! There’s going to be some preference involved for sure. For me overall the shark attachments were more what I was looking for!

I bought both, the Dyson and the Shark. The Dyson is so overrated. I returned it and kept the Shark. The Shark is amazing and half the price!

its so tough! I will say now that my hair is a little shorter (still long, but 2-3" shorter than this video) my shark lasts very long

It’s actually very light to hold and I find it much easier than a curling iron! But with hair that long it probably won’t really give a good curl
