You will most likely never see this comment because it’s been 3 years ago that you posted this video; but I had to at least try and let you know how much you have helped me with painting and shading my decoupage pieces. I’ve been decoupaging on and off for 5 years or more and I have always struggled with blending the decoupage paper . Not any longer though because of this video. Thank you so very much. Your a wonderful artist and teacher. ❤❤
Oh wow such kind kind words! Thank you so much for taking the time to post this and for being here with us! I am honored to be part of your creative journey in any way at all! We try to keep up on all comments young and old, lol! Thank you again for making my day and for your support!
Ms. Ellen. You have no idea how I need to hear perfection is not all that. I struggle with perfecting my crafts, and I get overwhelmed and shut down. Then I won't do art for several months. I searched on TH-cam, "How to blend paint?" Your channel popped up. It was God that needed me to hear what you had to say. I have to stop beating myself like Mike Tyson and Holly Field. I'm working on it. Thank you so much. 💓 😊 🙏 😊 🙏 😊 🙏 😊 🙏 😊 🙏
You are so welcome thank you for being here with us. We are thrilled that you found us! Yes we tend to be so hard on ourselves, don't strive for perfection just create and enjoy every minute of it. Do what makes you happy! Make sure you enjoy the journey as much as the finished project! We hope to see you back again soon!
Wowza!!! First of all…. That’s stunning! And you did it upside down! Are you kidding me?!? I have never seen anyone use decoupage paper in that way! It’s beautiful. You are so talented! Love your work and your channel. And your music!!!! ❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing your expertise. I am attempting my first decoupage on a piece of furniture (an antique chest of drawers) and am going to blend with paint for the first time. Your help is very much appreciated by this novice.
Thanks for breaking that down so well Ellen. Also, if you’ve ever read - Drawing on The Right Side Of The Brain- you elevated your painting by doing it upside down! Love your videos and your art💕❣️
What a great way to train your eye to match colours and brush strokes! Plus it’s so dynamic and the piece ends up looking like a complete work of art! Thx Lynne 👏👏
I have fond memories of watching you paint this live Lynne but I don't recall that I saw it completed. I'm so happy I took the time to double down on youtube where you've done a great job with the editing! You go girl! Love, Michelle C 💖😍
Hi Michelle! Thank you, thank you for always sharing your thoughts and feedback! I really do love doing these little edited videos. And I’m sure they are much easier to watch than an hour of live video. Bless your day! 💓
Lynne, what an amazing job you did recreating the art around the paper. This was perfect timing for me because I just laid a piece of Decapauge on a piece that it didn't quite fit. I admire your skills so very much. If I didn't work for corporate America I would be watching every live you have on. This is perfection.
Lynne, I’m just beginning to use decoupage papers so this tutorial was much needed. The way you blended what would’ve been a hard edge and the way you took your color into the painting made it so cohesive. Love this technique and your style! Thanks for sharing your talent! Hope you have a beautiful weekend in your idyllic little cottage! 😊😊
Hi Tracy! Welcome to the world of decoupage! I love being able to share any techniques that will help you to dive in and make beautiful art! I hope you have a lovely day!!!!
I have always been afraid to use decoupage papers that do not fit my frame or canvas exactly because of the dreaded edges. Not knowing or having the knowledge of how to blend or extend the ARTIST work has always been an issue for me until now. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I've learned more from this short tutorial then from watching all the other ones.
This was Exactly what I was looking for, so thank you so much!! Now I just need to learn how to pick the best colors & use different painting techniques. I usually love what I create, but since I'm not a painter per se, I'm afraid I'll mess it up by painting. It's not something I've done a lot of. I know...practice, practice!😉
OH WOW WOW ! Just ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Don’t think I could do what You did , but I’m Gonna give it a Go 😜 Again Just ❤️❤️ IT Thank You for Sharing Your Talent 👍👏😊
This was such a helpful and inspiring tutorial! I have hesitated to use decoupage papers because the image always has a squared off edge and never came in the size or shape of the piece I wanted to use it on. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with us!
I'm about to do my first decoupaged piece of furniture. I'm doing Study in Black and Green. I am so afraid I'm going to mess it up. I don't even know how to do any of it but I'm going to try my hardest. Thank you for the wonderful tips.

I'm trying to pick my jaw up off the floor 🤭 How stunning, you turned a beautiful slice of art into a master piece...Absolutely Brilliant 👏
Me too!
Opens a world of exciting possibilities for someone like me who just doesn’t quite have the talent to create and image from a blank canvas.
It truly does, Pamela. It’s one of the joys of coming to one of our creative retreats. You are guided through the process of creating your own art.

Thank you so much for your kind words!
Amazing the way you marriage the paper and your artistic touch just beautiful. Blessings.
Thanks Maria! I really think that is the key to fooling the eye… overlapping the paint onto the paper! 💓
Second time watching…never gets old. 💙
I'm so glad to see you here! Hope you are having a wonderful week!
Look forward to your inspiring video's. Thank you Lynn. Sending to well wishes from South East Texas.

Hi Janet! I think you have to just dig in! Find a small area that you can easily match colors and go for it ! 💓💓
Ellen, I paint roses with acrylics paints. Do you know if I can decoupage the actual painting ( if I use water paint paper) to the actual item? I can’t get this question answered?
I think you’d need em to create an actual photo file of your painting and then have it printed to a size that you could decoupage
what type of paint are you using for the background? Acrylic?
ellenjgoods.com/collections/fmp
I used all Fusion Mineral Paint
Unbelievable how you can do that.
Thank you so much!!!
💖💖💖💖
😊 thank you
I love your clear tutorial but not sure why people think the music is necessary. It’s distracting and not needed
Thank you for watching and for your feedback.
Very nice but please lose the background music - it really distracts from your demo!
Thanks for your feedback! 💓
