I might add that while we don't go to the temple the second time to renew our covenants, we do renew them in our mind and in our experience which is extremely helpful. Secondly as we partake of the sacrament each Sunday the brethren have taught that we renew all covenants which includes Temple covenants.
Thank you. I came here to say the same thing but with one of the references. "By partaking of the Sacrament we renew all covenants entered into with the Lord and pledge ourselves to take upon us the name of his Son, to always remember him and keep his commandments” (in Conference Report, Oct. 1965, 14). This includes the covenant of baptism, covenants in the temple, and for men the Oath and Covenant of the Priesthood. Considering the Temple Endowment think about what you are covenanting. It's stepping up our game to be a more dedicated disciple of Christ. To refresh your memory of all our covenants, baptism,Priesthood, and temple, refer to Mosiah 18:8-14, D&C 84:33-44, and The General Handbook Chapter 27.2. There are also several conference talks about our Temple Endowment.
I love how you two interact with each other; it reminds me of watching two dancers. You weave your comments back and forth seamlessly between you, bouncing ideas off each other in perfect harmony. It's a joy to listen!
Good morning Lynn and John. My husband and I listen to you every morning after we've had our Come Follow Me lessons. I really enjoy listening to both of you, it has helped me with the Book of Mormon this year. Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into this for us. Have a lovely Christmas, from sister Marie Coory in New Zealand.
30:12 "By partaking of the Sacrament we renew ALL covenants entered into with the Lord and pledge ourselves to take upon us the name of his Son, to always remember him and keep his commandments” (in Conference Report, Oct. 1965, 14). "While that’s true, it’s MUCH MORE than that. I’ve made a new covenant. You have made new covenants. . . . Now in return for which He makes the statement that we will always have His Spirit to be with us. What a blessing!" (President Nelson 2019 Mission Leadership Seminar)
I have again been blessed by your insights. Thank you. By the way, Sharon Brous' book, The Amen Effect, is a powerful discussion of religious community. She leads a Jewish community. I was reminded of it by the emphasis you put on the importance of community.
I appreciate your channel. I tried to make a donation, but I encountered an error because I could only input U.S. and Canadian states or ZIP codes. Is it not possible to donate from countries outside the U.S. and Canada?
Thank you, brother Welsh, and sister Wilson. These lessons from Scripture Central each week are very important to me in my scripture study.
