Don't go changing... You have the winning formula. We can't get enough of the beach and we can't get enough of fishing. Only thing I would like is to hear you teach a little more about the different seasonal patterns or what month it is. That's it! Stay bummy!!
Watching your awesome channel from the comfort of my home in England. You have a fantastic opportunity to get a new craze going LBF light beech fishing opposed to LRF Light rock fishing. Food for thought 🎣Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
I keep hoping to running into you in Mississipi. Love beach fishing in Waveland, MS, but I live in New Orleans, LA and most of my time is on the shores of Lake Ponchartrain.
You should try catching the whiting using 1/4 oz pomp jig and teaser. You can tip with shrimp if you want, but works great on bull whiting. Want me to send you some? whiting.
I know recently you’ve been wanting to do different content. This is your thing! Really enjoyed this video. I love the ultralight approach.I, Like you, can’t wait to see you hook a good pomp, red, or big ugly. Agin stick with this, after all that’s who you are the Beach Bum.
I was down there last week using a pompano rig catching absolutely nothing. I got to noticing all the whiting right next to the beach. I Carolina rigged just like you and threw the smallest hook I had, ( think it was a cricket hook LoL)literally 20ft from the beach. I caught so many large Whiting and pinfish that even my buddy Fred got his stomach full from pinfish. LoL
Took me a long time to realize even the tiny hooks can slay some BIG fish. Now I mainly run #4, #6 and #8's....also in the process of trying to teach the gf smaller hooks get it done hahaha
whiting are my favorite fish to eat and it's all i fish for. i use small pieces of shrimp fishbites and sand flea fishbites. i use a #1 or #1/0 circle hook because i don't want them to swallow the hook. i use 9 ft shakesphere steelhead rods so i can feel the fish and they are also strong enough if i get some other kind of bigger fish or ray. how is your store doing. haven't heard you talk about it lately. a store is a lot of work. good luck from new smyrna beach.
@northface484 there is nothing you can do to stop them on light tackle. I was broke off or spoiled too many times to mention. It is a part of fishing ultralight gear. In the ocean 🫡

Great video. I like the videos where you talk at the end.
Great video matt and good to see 👀 you at the beach 😂😂 beach bum ❤❤❤
I use a long J hook, so much easier to get out of a whiting than a circle. Cheaper too.
Yes ! The Eagle Claw #4 long shank (snelled 6packs) are easier on the fingers around saltwater fish mouths, for sure ! 🐟
Boy you going to have a hike back with all that fish!!! Yummy👍
Locking in the flounder difference in my brain finally! I need to come out that way a catch a gulf flounder.
We are here from Tennessee my nephew would love to meet you and brad! He is a big fan!!

Do you ever sharpen your hooks ?
Making me hungry for some fried flounder! 😊
What is the little cooler that you use? I’m looking for one I can walk down the beach with.

It’s much better early in the morning or at night there. The fish know the pelicans and porpoises run that beach.
First comment bro
Now I'm hungry for fresh fried flounder thanks a lot.
That is cool fighting big fish with that
Tails seem to be different also.
Visit that store man that got the Busby baits
I do the exact same thing here in NC, I have a 5 1/2' ugly stick I found at the inlet with a 2000 reel
I want in on that!
I know what I'm doing next time I go to the beach.
Tight lines from Gulf Shores!
