Jenna Fischer (Pam) has said that she admires so much Steve Carrell (Michael) that when he said he was proud of her it was all she needed to act that scene with that much emotion It’s probably my favorite moment in the series. They both needed it. Michael had just come out a place where everyone saw the company as just business, something cold and pragmatic. And then he comes to the art show and sees that the office was so important for Pam's life that she *chose* to spend hours in that painting.
Seeing Michael turn up to Pam's art show was moving enough when I first watched the show many years ago. But after properly studying and working (and currently trying to find a new job) in the field of arts... It hits SO. MUCH. MORE.
I forgot which season this episode was and was looking forward to see when you got to it. This is part of the reason why so many people defend Michael so much. He has his moments when he shows genuine compassion for people and not in service of his legit narcissism. That's a good way to put it: "When he focuses his attention outward, he's great".
The biggest problem w/Pam & Roy is that Roy is just so stupid. He had no idea what he had, & that's how he lost her in the 1st place. She probably wouldn't have ever had feelings for Jim if Roy had appreciated what he had & treated her like it. I don't think Pam ever wanted to be back w/Roy in the 1st place. She was in a very vulnerable place at Phyllis's wedding. Watching Jim & Karen you could tell she was so heartbroken & lonely. Her & Jim keep doing the exact same thing...they see the other one w/somebody else & it's too much to bear. I feel like they both feel the same way & I just wanna shake the s**t outta them both.
Roy is mistaken in thinking that that Jim is the reason that his relationship with Pam collapsed. Their relationship collapsed because Roy never really paid much attention to it and took it for granted. This we kinda know for sure. But we honestly don't know much about the inner workings of their relationship. It could be that maybe Pam didn't communicate as much as she should've. Could be that she DID try and do it many times but Roy half-heartedly listened and never really took it to heart. Either way, Jim and Pam kissing wasn't the cause of the collapse. It just woke Pam up to the uncomfortable reality that she didn't really want to reckon with. And she did the right thing and broke things off immediately instead of having an affair etc. I also appreciate her wanting to start from a place of honesty and telling him about the kiss. Roy being angry... I get it. Like you said, maybe an overreaction but news like that certainly warrants some kind of reaction. But yeah, Jim def doesn't deserve DEATH or grievous physical harm over this. Cuz once again... he is not the cause for the relationship falling apart. And he definitely isn't the cause for the second try at the relationship falling apart either lol
Pam was just as bad for the relationship as Roy was, just in different ways. Pam had low self-esteem, which was in combination with her insecurities, and then lack of communication and decision-making resulted in a loveless relationship for years.
Asking your boss for favor. Making them think that they were giving a speech about sales then humiliating them in front of the class is absolutely a fireable offense. Especially for a temp. Haha!
Also, Roy took way too much joy in the fact that he was the only one that showed up. I get why he felt that way...but it's not the kinda thing you say out loud. Or at the very least wipe that f**kin' smile off your face. That's what I mean by "I don't think he's evil, he's just dumb"
The funniest thing to me is most people hate Roy almost instantly so its so rare to hear some one actual have given him the benefit of the doubt up til this point. While I would say most of the problems of their relationship is Roy's fault but a small part is Pam's fault for ignoring what was painfully obvious to everyone else, that they were never a compatible couple.
It's been said that Kevin doesn't get enough credit for the bar scene. If you pay attention you can see he is ready to throw hands with Roy if he tried to attack anybody.
During an English lesson back in 6th grade (this was when I still lived in India), a bat flew into the classroom. The kids started freaking out and panicking cuz.. it's a fricking bat and it is a lil scary. The English teacher, the absolute legend, clamly picked up a badminton racket (it had a net cover on) from one of the student's backpacks and WHACKED the flying mammal. It hit the ground DEAD. It was sooo cool to us 6th graders lol. Pretty sure that some kids clapped for her XD
Kind of a bummer he killed the bat, but I won’t lie, I’ve learned that a tennis racket is a great weapon against hornets and wasps. Cuts right through ‘em
Jim knew Pam was engaged and met Roy several times and Roy knew Pam was friends with him. Not that I condone it but I do see how he deserves a physical response.
Sorry for the random likes, I have watched these episodes on my old account I don't have anymore, so I'm just regiving the likes and views for support. Have a good day bro
I still can’t stand Pam. Gil was right about her art. The whole Roy tantrum could have been avoided if she hadn’t gone back to him. She was only with him because Jim and Karen were together. She continues to act stupidly. That doesn’t excuse Roy’s violent response, but she had no business going back to someone she wasn’t in love with. She was right the first time dumping his sorry ass. I enjoyed your reaction and commentary as always Jimmy! Creed continues to be the best and my love for Dwight continues!

The bond between Michael and Pam is probably my favorite part of the show.
That ONE huh 😪
he tried to kiss her once
He was always at his best when he wasn’t trying to be the best.
Roy’s response tells us everything we need to know. As you said, that won’t get better, that temper.

"Creed's the most interesting person on the planet" - truer words have never been spoken

I pounced on this in my recommended, you can't put these out fast enough man, so happy re-watching the show with someone's first watch!
Season 2 and 3 nonstop great episode streaks continue, phew.
That art piece is one of the top _Office_ icons for sure.
"People will never go out of business" is A1. I still say it.
“May your dreams fly as high as your hats…”
Asking your boss for favor. Making them think that they were giving a speech about sales then humiliating them in front of the class is absolutely a fireable offense. Especially for a temp. Haha!
10:26 "Oscar came...and Michael came", that's what Jimmy Macram said.

“To Lee Iacocca and his failed experiment the Delorean.”
Dwight popping up from the backseat to say “don’t break up, you guys” cracks me up every time 😂
There are so many other episodes that I can’t wait to see your reaction to. These 2 were great
That's a good observation about Michael being strong when his attention is pointed outwards to other people, but that it's just usually not

The cringe from the party episode is just an appetizer for the eventual Dinner Party episode, arguably in the top two cringiest episodes.
Scott's Tots...
@@stormywaters1565 Has to be. Nothing comes close.
@@stormywaters1565that episode is not actually that bad. Basketball episode was horrendous.
Holy hell how did I catch this 27 seconds after going up! Been looking forward to your reaction to this episode! Loving your reactions!
Yesh, this is a great episode
(specifically the first ep)
One of my favorite moments.
two good, meaty, character episodes
Is that a The Kliq t-shirt ? And it looks like Scott Hall is in the middle.

Next episode!!!!
next episode is so good
A Chunky that's what i call it now
I love how he then offers it to Pam as if that’s the next best thing to do
I always hit like when you tell me to because of the way you say, “for the ALGORITHM!” And I now say it when I click like on other videos.
Jim knew Pam was engaged and met Roy several times and Roy knew Pam was friends with him. Not that I condone it but I do see how he deserves a physical response.
Exactly, add to the fact that jim confessed to her knowing she was in love & literally came onto her .
For the algorithm!

Man, the bring you boss to school day is like top 3 most cringy Michael eps... also, directed by Joss Whedon. You are not prepared for Jan-chael...
I can’t believe I’m being cucked out of the beginning of episode 18 it’s an all timer 😂
Small businesses have suffered from Corporate takeover....yet GOP is always spouting "small businesses are the backbone of America" Hypocrisy😵
Yeah, it’s the GOP fault for all the businesses closing in California…
Cry about it liberal
