I'm a college instructor and I approve so much of this song. Thank you for the lovely melody and the heartfelt emotions you've filled this song with. That “I’ve got time” pause really calmed me… heading into my senior year of college and that reminded me that finishing college is just the beginning of being an adult in the ‘real world’
I'm only about 4 years graduated but I have a couple songs that always take me back to my freshman year, as well as a couple other ones that remind me of study sessions with my friends or other activities, and boy is it always crazy to think how short of a time college actually was. Truly make the most of your senior year, because usually this is where most collegiate journeys end. Make sure to stay in touch with those special professors, make sure you check in on your friends you met along the way. One tidbit my own favorite professor gave us was to not going into the work force immediately. Over the next 40+ years of life you'll get plenty of money, but time is invaluable, so celebrate your achievement of graduating. Take a week or two to yourself, be yourself and maybe even travel somewhere. Do something extraordinary, as you'll remember that much more than missing a week of being stuck in an office or working outside.
Lying in my dorm room half way through my second year just crying to this song, I'm exhausted and unmotivated, everything I do feels wrong but people are telling me I'm doing so well, I just don't see it at all 😭 in the moment I can see the work I'm creating and it feels big, then I look back and it looks like I've not done anything just wasted a few months... nobody talks about this side of Uni
You got this, just believe in yourself and put your head down and keep going! One day, you'll look back on today and be proud of all the work you've accomplished!
Everything is gonna be fine........I am studying in my dream uni now but it is not like I imagined it to be...honestly I am not liking this ......I was far more happier when I was just dreaming than I am now living the dream ......things will not go as planned but everything happens for a reason ......I am blessed to get to live my dream life .....have hope and stay safe
This is me. so much. Thank you, I know it hurts, it hurts for me too, but... it's nice to know I'm not alone, and hope that we can make it out the other side.
I'm two years into college and I still feel this every single day. I feel lost even though I have a destination in mind, and I try hard and try to keep my head high, but it's so difficult because I feel like I can't do it like everybody else can. It is so incredibly uplifting to hear you sing about these thoughts and worries and remind everyone we just hafta breathe.
I’m only in grade 9 going into 10 in a few months and I feel the same way you do right now. Just know you’re not alone, you don’t have to plan your whole life in the moment. You’re doing so well and I love you for it
Plenty of people feel some form of this during their lives, and, to be honest, there really isn't anything you can do about it. So please don't feel alone in what you're going through and try to trust in yourself and your decisions more. Easier said than done, I know, but the only way out it is through
Been hearing this song a lot lately. I gotta say, as someone about a month and a half away from graduating college, it gets better but in a lot of ways it stays the same. You lock yourself out a lot less, you meet a lot of new people, you stop talking to a lot of old people, you still feel frazzled and like you're falling behind, but you make some solid friends and they're all in the same boat as you.
This is my first year out of college, and it’s so weird. I miss it so much. In high school you want it to end as soon as possible, but college goes by way too quick

Algebra is something I’m expected to do, and I can do it, it just is stressful. I'm at university and feel like life is going so quickly yet slowly at the same time, like I'm too old but not ready to grow up, and this song captures that feeling perfectly. I am literally crying to this right now. Incredible song thank you Aimee ❤
Me too , It's good feeling when you think you're the only one in the world living a thing , but turn out not to be alone and there's a lot of people like you ✨
A song about anxiety, uncertainty, & trying to find our place in this world. Sounds like most people when we realize it's time to truly grow up. Welcome to my Spotify playlist.
"I've got time" is one of the hardest messages to learn. Trying to rush and cram and get it all done is not the way to live and be happy. But the second lesson is "I'll never get more time". Spend it wisely, and enjoy it.
I need this as a soundtrack in a movie. Concept: A young girl spends all her life trying to meet the expectations of everyone around her and closing on to the end of the movie she's at her breaking point, but realizes shes just started college, shes young and has time in her hands. The music plays in the background and you see her making friends, enemies, having happy and sad times, but you can tell she's happy.
Movie title: Hard Choices Soundtrack Album order: 2 minutes into the movie: 2 Days into College - aimee carty (the girl enters college being accepted. 30 minutes into the movie: My Love is mine all mine. - mitski (meeting the love of her life) 50 Minutes into the movie: Mean - taylor swift (making enemies, and friends.) 70 minutes into the movie: take me to church - hozier (getting in trouble and realizing the college is evil) 120 minutes into the movie (the ending part) : Out of the Woods - Taylor swift (escaping the college)
I just stumbled onto this song on Instagram. Now I'm hooked and listening to them all! So awesome. My daughter is also going to love this if she hasn't already discovered it.
to those still growing up, i'm 31 this year and just started learning the piano. don't stress out on how to min-max your life okay? if you wanna be perfect, remember to factor in self-care too perfection doesn't mean maximum output at the expense of your body. i rather much like to think of it as maximum output over the course of my lifetime. so relax, go check out the sunset, with you and yours, remember your family and your friends, treasure the time you have left
I know you'll never see this, but I just wanted to tell you a little bit about myself. I actually started school at a private school this year after homeschooling for seven years. I hadn't been in a school setting for SEVEN YEARS. One of my now-best friends showed me this song and I instantly connected to it. I listened to it on repeat for hours on end, I memorized every lyric, I even made a parody rewrite (or two, or ten) of it. Let me tell you, this is my absolute favorite song. I do not lie, my life has LITERALLY BEEN CHANGED by you and your splendiferous talent for singing and writing music. Keep going with your life, graduate college, and NEVER EVER stop writing music ❤
I’m so glad you released a full version of this!! I can’t believe how far you’ve come since I first found you, I’m so proud of the work you’ve done and can’t wait to see what the future holds for such a talented young lady! Much love !!
I just want to thank you Miss Aimee. This is my first year in college and I already feel burnt out and I feel lost. Your lyric about how I'll figure it out is what I have always said to myself. This song helped give me a good cry. Thank you.
As someone finishing my last year of college in a little under two months, I'm sad to say the burn out remains sometimes, but you continue to make it through. Remember that everyone around you is in the same boat and feel a little peace that you're not alone. Remember to be silly and stay childish, it helps a lot on the hard days. Good luck!
@@elicaelum8379 Thank you. I hope that your burn out will go away and I'll follow your advice about being childish. I hope I can be like you and finish my college years soon so that my parents can be proud and I can be proud of myself too.

Hey bro, you’ll do great. Might not feel like it now, but one day you’ll be sending your kid to college and you’ll be crying all over again watching them the road you walked before them.

“If its meant to happen it’ll happen anyway. I’ll be fine, i got time” As someone who’s two years into college and is stressed stressed stressed right now, Im glad i heard this song. It made me sob a little inside my messy dorm room but it did bring me some little comfort. Thank you❤
From an older viewpoint, You have touched upon a mental truth that most people never discover. I find myself almost void of anxiety. Because the majority or the pressure we receive from peers is mostly useless. Your peers can't ever know what would make you truly happy. They want to HELP you be happy, to help you succeed. But the reality of it all is they will miss the mark. If only by a little bit its still not for you. Life is about finding peace in whatever form you chose. Some chose religion, some choose a lack of confrontation, some choose silence or something else. You have time, but don't put your happiness and peace off. Or you will become upset with yourself for wasting such a precious resource you could have made more of. I find your voice peaceful and I really enjoy it. I will listen to this a few more times and enjoy my time listening to the wonder and curiosity of what the world will bring for you in the future. But for the moment, have some of my gratitude for helping me inadvertently find a small slice of peace. I really hope you find some yourself.
I'm ten years out of college and I'm doing just fine man the things I used to worry about are the furthest from my mind because the world is bigger than all that and it took me a while to see that Now there's lots of other things that keep me up in the middle of the night I wake up kind of tired and I wake up kind of sore and I wake up kind of mired by the thought "God I've gotten old" I still don't like breaking rules or doing what I'm told but my eyes are off the ground so i can watch my life as it unfolds And now I'm the one telling me that I'm doing so well I try to trust me, honestly I find it hard to tell If I need work or I need rest I try my best to try my best I tell myself, I say out loud It's fine, I don't have to figure it all out I tend to forget I'm still quite young In a way, this life of mine has only just begun I've got time I've got time I'm ten years out of college With a busy, busy mind There's been plenty of "Collin's" Some were handsome, some were kind My friends tell me I'm crazy Say I take it way too far 'Cause they're off raising families and I'm off traveling so far I'm only ten years out of college And my bedroom's still a mess There's just so much that I want to do That I have not done yet There's just so much that I want to say And far too little breath Oh, my mind it runs so far away It's easy to forget That to everybody else, it looks like I'm doing so well I try to see it, honestly I find it hard to tell If I've done wrong or I've done right I need a good night's sleep tonight They said go out, I said alright past 9 o'clock? Yeah, right I probably should just take it slow I'll be all good But God I know The one thing that's important above everything else Is that I've learned not to put all this heavy pressure on myself I try believe it when I say "If it's meant to happen, I'll get there someday" I'll be fine I've got time I've got time That's where I'm at To be honest Just ten years Ten years out of college
This is so good. It really feels like things don't change much. Wherever we are in life, we always ask and mull over the same questions. Some things will be left unanswered, like an open ended story, but that's still a way to conclude a chapter and begin a new one. Hey, that's perfectly fine. We'll be fine ❤
Amazing song! I'm so glad TH-cam shorts are a thing and showed me this diamond in the rough. This song is the reason I turned on you tube notifications so I hope to see more great work!

So the new education system arent really change our way to study, they just add more things to books and make the hard things gone, but our teacher still want us to understand all of that. @@AlbertAndreiDan I think it's the combination of both the words she's singing which feel so, so relatable, and the way the music/melody goes at that specific moment. The lyrics alone are still hard hitting, and the melody alone is still beautiful, but it's the fact that she used those specific words, at that specific point in the song, with that melody, which I think makes it so emotionally hard-hitting. It seems like a lot of people had the same experience as us based on how many likes the comment got. Man I love this song :') (sorry for the in-depth analysis, I'm a musician, I saw you ask, and I can't help but give my real opinion as a musician on why it hits the way it does xD )

"I've got time" is one of the hardest messages to learn. Trying to rush and cram and get it all done is not the way to live and be happy. But the second lesson is "I'll never get more time". Spend it wisely, and enjoy it.
This is amazing. The way you sing fast to make it seem like everything is stressful and going so fast but then you slow down. Masterpiece

Yes!
Movie title:
Hard Choices
Soundtrack Album order:
2 minutes into the movie: 2 Days into College - aimee carty (the girl enters college being accepted.
30 minutes into the movie: My Love is mine all mine. - mitski (meeting the love of her life)
50 Minutes into the movie: Mean - taylor swift (making enemies, and friends.)
70 minutes into the movie: take me to church - hozier (getting in trouble and realizing the college is evil)
120 minutes into the movie (the ending part) : Out of the Woods - Taylor swift (escaping the college)
Thats such a cool concept! I would watch that
I think a musical would fit better, the same concept, except the movie is also a musical
Agreed
I just stumbled onto this song on Instagram. Now I'm hooked and listening to them all! So awesome. My daughter is also going to love this if she hasn't already discovered it.
to those still growing up, i'm 31 this year and just started learning the piano. don't stress out on how to min-max your life okay? if you wanna be perfect, remember to factor in self-care too
perfection doesn't mean maximum output at the expense of your body. i rather much like to think of it as maximum output over the course of my lifetime.
so relax, go check out the sunset, with you and yours, remember your family and your friends, treasure the time you have left

I'm ten years out of college
and I'm doing just fine
man the things I used to worry about
are the furthest from my mind
because the world is bigger than all that
and it took me a while to see that
Now there's lots of other things that keep me up in the middle of the night
I wake up kind of tired
and I wake up kind of sore
and I wake up kind of mired
by the thought "God I've gotten old"
I still don't like breaking rules
or doing what I'm told
but my eyes are off the ground
so i can watch my life as it unfolds
And now I'm the one telling me that I'm doing so well
I try to trust me, honestly
I find it hard to tell
If I need work or I need rest
I try my best to try my best
I tell myself, I say out loud
It's fine, I don't have to figure it all out
I tend to forget
I'm still quite young
In a way, this life of mine has only just begun
I've got time
I've got time
I'm ten years out of college
With a busy, busy mind
There's been plenty of "Collin's"
Some were handsome, some were kind
My friends tell me I'm crazy
Say I take it way too far
'Cause they're off raising families
and I'm off traveling so far
I'm only ten years out of college
And my bedroom's still a mess
There's just so much that I want to do
That I have not done yet
There's just so much that I want to say
And far too little breath
Oh, my mind it runs so far away
It's easy to forget
That to everybody else, it looks like I'm doing so well
I try to see it, honestly
I find it hard to tell
If I've done wrong or I've done right
I need a good night's sleep tonight
They said go out, I said alright
past 9 o'clock? Yeah, right
I probably should just take it slow
I'll be all good
But God I know
The one thing that's important above everything else
Is that I've learned not to put all this heavy pressure on myself
I try believe it when I say
"If it's meant to happen, I'll get there someday"
I'll be fine
I've got time
I've got time
That's where I'm at
To be honest
Just ten years
Ten years out of college
Very cool adaptation of the lyrics!
Give this man (or woman) a goddamn medal
This is so good. It really feels like things don't change much. Wherever we are in life, we always ask and mull over the same questions.
Some things will be left unanswered, like an open ended story, but that's still a way to conclude a chapter and begin a new one. Hey, that's perfectly fine. We'll be fine ❤

In junior year of high school, but I relate to all of this. Thank you for this song. I found this from an animation. I love the instrumental, the melody, the vocal delivery, and the lyrics. The lyrics are way too relatable 😭. Love how it gets more frantic as it goes on. Looping this while I study for a big AP World History test tmrow. This song contains everything I love and need in a song. Way too relatable. Thank you for the comfort to my anxiety and mental state as well as the pain. This has no right to be this good, so beautifully constructed. It’s so unbelievably amazing and I’m so proud of this thing.

So the new education system arent really change our way to study, they just add more things to books and make the hard things gone, but our teacher still want us to understand all of that. Like they cant pick one education system, so its like forced to learn two things that u dont even know which one are more important. Perfect scores? In ur dream. "The one thing that's important above everything else is to learn not to put all this heavy pressure on myself", it just causes an avalanche of emotion when I hear it and literally makes me teary eyed 🥺
Why did that happen exactly like you for me
@@AlbertAndreiDan I think it's the combination of both the words she's singing which feel so, so relatable, and the way the music/melody goes at that specific moment.
Man I love this song :')
