@@JanetsDeliciousLowCarbKitchen Thanks. When the heat lets up a bit, I’m going to start baking more. I miss bagels, really looking forward to making these.
This is awesome! I literally was just thinking yesterday is there a low carb cottage cheese bread without egg white powder. This is so awesome. Do you think I could use as pizza dough?
Janet, you continue to amaze me! Love your presentation, so helpful. You are delightful and you make me smile. I'm going to try this recipe tomorrow, it looks yummy. Thank you.
Janet, do you think that adding some gelatin might add a bit of that bagel "chew"? I think I may try it out actually. I've yet to attempt bagels, but they've been sounding really good lately~ which is how I landed here. =) Plus, they are so fun to make sandwiches, burgers, pizza, etc. Good old toasted w/butter & cream cheese is my favorite, likely always will be. Also right there w/you on adding yeast to bread recipes, since it really does add a lot of flavor. As always, thanks so much for your clear, concise & delicious recipes! May your efforts continue to be blessed, as they are such a blessing to the rest of us ~Samantha in AZ
@@mymiracle79 I haven't tried this with bamboo fiber. A lot of coconut flour recipes can be substituted with oat fiber or bamboo fiber. The texture will be a little different but it will probably still be good
@@simplyme-88 Unfortunately there is no one for one substitute for coconut flour. Coconut flour is much more absorbent than other flours and requires a lot more liquid and binders.
But I understand Keto is not about high protein because proteins can be converted to carbs by the liver. So it has to be medium to low protein throughout the day. Is this wrong?
@@roxannamiguel7291 The keto diet is considered a high protein diet because it requires 10 to 20% of calories to come from protein which is more than the average daily diet. When you're on a low carb diet you lack the carbs that convert to energy Protein does turn into glucose but it is used for energy when you lack carbs
Dear Janet, I’m a big fan of your recipes but… unfortunately I tried this recipe and I was very disappointed 😔 I tried this TWICE this evening and the dough inside never seems to get “done”. I was really looking forward to this recipe but I have to say I’m very disappointed. The outcome is not fluffy at all. The dough remains dense even when I left them a bit longer in the oven I’m sorry for this comment but I’m sure you appreciate it… so sorry 😞
I personally prefer the texture of coconut flour as opposed to almond flour. Almond flour always has a gritty feel. Also my husband has ulcerativcolitis and coconut flour settles better for him.
But does it taste like coconut? When you started to say " for those of you wondering if it tastes like cottage cheese..." I was on the edge of my seat thinking you were about to say it doesn't taste like coconut. But you didn't mention it. 😂 i like to use bobs paleo flour, it's a mix of coconut and almond. But your hubs prbly can't eat it then. Thank you for the recipe!!❤
Big fan, Jan! Love your recipes. Keep'em coming. 😊
I definitely will keep'em coming.😊 I am so glad you have been enjoying my recipes.
I love your recipes and how you present them 💚🌷💚

Bagel looks delicious! I love texture, so the crusty texture is perfect. Going to use dairy-free, gluten free cottage cheese. Thanks. 👍

So it’s not chewy like New York bagels? Also, is the 280 temperature in the air fryer Fahrenheit?
This is definitely got to make! Thank you!

Wow! I love the tasting part!

These look really yummy! Do you, by any chance, have a non-coconut flour alternative?

Yes this would make a very good pizza dough. You might need to double the recipe depending on how big of a pizza you want

Have you ever tried using nutritional yeast for flavor instead of regular yeast? If so, did it change the texture?
@@With-one-wing I haven't tried nutritional yeast for flavor. It would probably work and give a little bit of a cheesy taste to the bagels

What can I use instead of egg wash for bagels, sorry 🙏
How many cups is 226 grams I’don’t have metric measurement baking utensils
226 grams of cottage cheese is roughly 1 cup
Can you boil these ..like par boil like a regular bagel

Bagels are not supposed to be soft, but chewy.
