I think this period from like 2006 to 2009 are my favourite years of BTCC racing. The quality of the cars on the grid improving a lot, the list of top drivers racing against each other, like Neal, Plato, Giovanardi, Turkington, Collard, Jordan, Turner, Shedden, the rise in promising young stars like Jackson, Onslow-Cole and Andrew Jordan etc, the unbeatable commentary duo of Ben Edwards and Tim Harvey, it all made for one of the most exciting and entertaining years for the sport. And also probably much needed too after the at times, tumultuous periods of the BTC regulations earlier in the 2000s.
Those seats were dangerous eh, I think you had to prove you could only overtake through biffing people off or moving over on cars already clearly up your inside! Menaces!

While 1991 to 1996 is certainly more unique, this era is definetly more generally entertaining.
couldnt agree more.
10:27 Good old Yaytree, you're much missed these days!
Some interesting noises coming from Ben Edwards at 16:00 😂
Those Vauxhalls of Giovanardi and Chilton seemed to end up in everything!
The seat toledos where very secondhand by the end of the year..

It was the format. Rubbing is racing. If you don't like it don't watch it. Definitely more entertaining than the last few years of BTCC.
Ah, the Onslow-Cole season…
