Kromfohrlander Stories- Dr. Henrich Schleifenbaum, Youtube series "Unser Siegen" (w/eng subtitles)

Dr. Henrich Schleifenbaum, my (late) friend Eugene Cumming's good friend and fellow attorney, son of Ilse Schleifenbaum, originator of the Kromfohrlander dog breed. Here, Dr. S describes the early times of the breed in pleasant remembrance of his mother and the struggles she weathered with difficult people, health issues and getting the breed recognized. Eugene called me the "Ilse of America" and it was more than a compliment. I have often felt a spiritual kinship with Ilse and respect her foundation rules of the breed: honesty, openness, no secrecy, respect for each other, helping each other, always sharing information, not making profit, not a special breed for the rich all the while maintaining a pleasant sort of a dog that was always to be rare and not overbred. She did not like clubs and was adamant that anyone involved in the breed was a team player, not a free agent. You do not need a club for that. I am much the same as the founder of the breed in North America. I also share her creative skills, piano playing, physical issues, similar age when she developed the breed and viewpoints above.
