I would think it would be more detrimental to totally alter a panda''s natural survival experience by over-pampering. Having adequate space outside, fresh bamboo and treats, life is good for Mei and baby. Pandas's last about 20 years in the wild and at least 30 years in captivity. From what I know, the National Zoo has contributed positively to this statistic.
