Championship Night for 2018 Chinese Bridge
This video was acted by two contestants in 2018 Chinese Bridge. It is a touching historical story about friendship between Chinese composer Xian Xinghai and Kazakh composer Bakhytzhan Baikadamov.

In 1941, the music project led by Xian Xinghai in Moscow was interrupted by the war. He attempted many ways but couldn't go back to China. He eventually came to Almaty and wanted to go home from there (sadly he didn't make it at last). He suffered from poverty and illness. One day in the end of 1942, the composer Bakhytzhan Baikadamov encountered Xian Xinghai in the street holding a violin without eating food for a few days. This kind-hearted Kazakh artist invited Xian Xinghai to his home and generously treated him as a family member despite of great risk to keep a foreigner at that time. His big family was also short of supplies during the war. As Kazakh people usually say, "Share the last loaf of bread at hunger." They overcome language barriers and made friendship each other with music and kind hearts.️️
Xian Xinghai used a pseudonym at that time. Bakhytzhan Baikadamov did not know that the person he brought home was Xian Xinghai until later in 1945 he read the newspaper about the death of Chinese composer Xian Xinghai, a renowned household name in China.
In October 1998, the city of Almaty decided to name a street near Baikadamov's house Xian Xinghai Street (улицаСи Синхая/Ulitsa Si Sinkhay), right parallel to Baikadamov street and erected a monument to Xian Xinghai. In May 2019, the first China-Kazakhstan co-production grand film "The Composer" was released. In the same year, the book "The Life of Chinese composer Xian Xinghai in Kazakhstan" was published in Chinese, Russian and English.
