As a former Protestant, I appreciated the reverence of genuflecting, kneeling before Christ’s presence in the Eucharist, and bowing at the utterance of our King’s name. I pray we may live out each day in submission to our holy and glorious King, because when we submit to Jesus, is when we become the most free: free from eternal suffering, free from the poisons of sin, truly free. Thank you Keith!
@ As much as I love a good bread, I would never kneel before a piece of it. I will however revere Christ’s presence in holy communion and fulfill His teaching in John 6:51-69. “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.” The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?” Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.” These things he said while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum. The Words of Eternal Life. Then many of his disciples who were listening said, “This saying is hard; who can accept it?” Since Jesus knew that his disciples were murmuring about this, he said to them, “Does this shock you? What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe.” Jesus knew from the beginning the ones who would not believe and the one who would betray him. And he said, “For this reason I have told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by my Father.” As a result of this, many [of] his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer accompanied him. Jesus then said to the Twelve, “Do you also want to leave?” Simon Peter answered him, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God.” The people hearing this from Jesus understood this was not mere symbolism or a parable, because many of His followers (much like many Protestants) said to follow this “is hard. Who can accept it” The twelve stayed with Him because of their deep faith. The apostles and early church fathers taught about the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
You need faith to believe in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. "This is my body, this is my blood." If you can't believe the words of the Lord how can one believe your name is your name.
Thank you for unpacking the mass!! I am a cradle Protestant coming to the Catholic Church now! Wow have my eyes and my pride been exposed!! Love how the Holy Spirit is working!! God bless you and your family!!
I love following the feast of Christ the King in both the traditional Latin mass calendar (which is the last Sunday of October) and in the more modern calendar. Like JD Vance said, “That’s right, Jesus IS King…” 🙏
Keith, you and your lovely wife are an inspiration to me. I've been in OCIA since September, but need a tribunal to clear my civil marriage. I learn so much from you. ❤ Thank you. Praise Jesus.
Really needed this message! Give Him all of our authority and our allegiance all of our love. 🙏🏻. Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords! All glory and honor and power to Him forever and ever. Amen!
thanks Keith...awesome as always. This reminds of of the song Hallelujah Chorus that I sang years ago when I was in chorus..."King of Kings, and Lord of Lords..for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth"...great song
I love how you were able to find a way to basically take your background as a pastor and do these unofficial sermons as a Catholic, within the authority of the Catholic Church as a layman. It’s great to have laity who are able to do this accurately without trying to take the place of a sanctioned clergy homily.
Im confused. I usually follow along with the readings in my Hallow app and every week its been the same but this week your readings are different from whats in my app
You can sit wherever you like, even the very front and are always welcome! During Communion just stay in your pew, or you can come forward for a blessing. If you cross your arms over your chest, the priest will bless you instead of giving you Communion.
Glory!!! After so much struggles I now own a new house with an influx of $155,000.00 every month God has kept to his words,my family is happy again everything is finally falling into place. God bless America.
After I raised up to 525k trading with her I bought a new House and a car here in the states 🇺🇸🇺🇸 also paid for my son's surgery (Oscar). Glory to God.shalom.
I've always wanted to be involved for a long time but the volatility in the price has been very confusing to me. Although I have watched a lot of TH-cam videos about it but I still find it hard to understand.
It's not enough to say he is king, you must do what he says. Catholics aren't doers of the word. 1.pope not in scripture, Matt 16 doesn't mention Rome. See below. 2. Cardinals not in scripture 3. Regional bishops not there 4. Metropolitan not there 5. Infant baptism missing 6. Nun orders missing 7. Celibacy not there came from vestal virgins and trattoria priests of Rome. 8. Pontifex maximus was a roman office, not all roman Ceasars could be this. Had to first be a roman priest from roman religion. Catholics only call Jesus king, but don't follow his word. Why call me lord lord and do not the things that I say. One evidence Peter wasn't head, was the apostles and leaders in Jerusalem sent PETER and J ohn to Samaria in acts 8. Sent means Peter was subject, not first. The word Petros means a stone that can be thrown. Can be sent.
The earliest writings of the Church Fathers confirm that Peter and his successors did indeed lead the Church, and they had deacons & bishops. The hierarchical structure we see today was already in place very early on and more leaders were added as the Church grew. There were also both men and women who consecrated their lives to God and did not marry (and widows) to devote their lives to God in prayer and good works. St. Paul refers to them and even recommends singlehood himself. They didn’t call themselves “nuns” or “brothers” in Bible days. Those terms came later, but the practice was in place. The Church is not frozen in time. We don’t dress or speak like 33 AD Palestine. It has continued to grow and develop, so naturally it doesn’t look or sound exactly like it did in the book of Acts, but the skeletal structure of what we see today was there from the beginning. Our Lord established His Church on Peter and the 11 (choosing Matthias was their first decision as a leadership body). He breathed on them, gave them His authority to lead after He was gone, to forgive sins in His name & sent the Holy Spirit to empower them to do so. They’ve continued to do so for 2000 yrs. We believe, and historical evidence shows, that Church is the Catholic Church. A great collection of early Christian writings is the 3 vol. set The Faith of the Early Fathers, edited by Jurgens, esp. Vol. 1 which covers the first 3 centuries of Christianity. These are not writings by a historian. It’s a 3 vol. collection of writings by Church leaders from around 60 AD-600’s. It’s very interesting to see what they believed and how the Church functioned from the get-go, and how it developed as it grew.
The city of Rome became the seat of Church leadership because that’s where Peter was. He was the bishop of Rome and of Antioch, but he was living in Rome at the time of his death. Both he and Paul were killed & buried there, so it was also a very special place for the church because of that. Peter was killed on a place called Vatican Hill, so that’s where the name came from. Later, after Christianity became legal, a church was built over the site (St. Peter’s basilica). In addition, Rome was the seat of earthly power at the time, so it was a perfect place to establish a home-base from which to reach the world. Peter’s successors were also bishops of Rome: Anacletus, Clement, Evaristus, Alexander, Sixtus, etc… and lead the church from there. In the book of Acts, you’ll sometimes see Peter answering on behalf of the Apostles and several times you’ll see the phrase “Peter and the Eleven.” That’s a rather odd phrase if Peter was not their leader. You never see “John and the 11” or “Andrew and the 11.” Now, reread what Christ said when He changed Peter’s name (both accounts), and their private conversation after His Resurrection, and it becomes clear that Our Lord really was indeed choosing Peter as a Leader among the leaders. Also, several early church fathers (bishops), who were writing long after Peter was dead, tell people to “go to Peter” to settle disputes. From the context it’s obvious that they mean “go to his successor.” They definitely saw Peter’s as a position of special/final authority that was to be perpetual. This is why the position of Pope to this day is referred to as both the Bishop of Rome and the Chair of St. Peter. As to celibacy, it is a disciplinary matter. It can be kept, waived, or changed at the discretion of the Pope. Some Catholic priests are married, but most are single. The Catholic Church has decided for several reasons that plan A should be for priests to be single men, largely so they can be, like St. Paul recommended, 100% devoted to Christ and their flocks. Eastern Catholics and Orthodox allow married men to be ordained, but all their Bishops have to be single for the same reason. None of these churches allow already-ordained men to get married or to remarry once widowed. The default position is for them to be single-heartedly devoted to Christ and His Church.
Welcome home! All true. Freedom from the slavery of sin!
Bowing before something like bread that is symbol vs God would be idolatry. So it depends if it is actually christ or a symbol.
@ As much as I love a good bread, I would never kneel before a piece of it. I will however revere Christ’s presence in holy communion and fulfill His teaching in John 6:51-69.

You should concentrate on improving your relationship with Christ. Not trying to falsely bring others down.
