It is a Singapore brand, but in southeastern China where I live, people started to make jelly out of these grassroots a long time ago. You can say that this is a quite universal drink in Southern/Southeastern Asia, including China.

Fun Fact: Irn Bru actually used to be called Iron Brew back in the late 1880s when it was first made. Shortly after that they were forced to change their name because of claims of false advertising as it had brew in the name when in reality it was never actually brewed. They decided to change the name in the early 1900s to Irn Bru.
