"Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance) -
This song, and this performance specifically are classics.
The venue was Saitama Super Arena (SSA) on January 10th, 2015, with a sold out crowd of over 20,000.
BABYMETAL's lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto first appeared at SSA in 2008 as a member of the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's, when she was 10 years old.
She had just turned 17 a few weeks before this BABYMETAL concert.
Pretty great crowd control for someone of any age, really.
Guitarists that night were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus. The bassist was BOH, and the drummer was Hideki Aoyama.

Very nice! Man, you're not too old to go to a BM show. You might be surprised about how many older fans there are. I really hope they come to the states this summer or fall.

The last song but endless enthusiasm. After the concert, fans will want to drink beer and continue talking about their feelings about the concert. 🦊

    Great reaction, thanks!
This footage is from the concert "New Year Fox Festival", held on January 10th, 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena (SSA) with a sold out crowd of 20.000+ people.
And yes, it was the last encore of the show. Just imagine 90+ minutes of concert entirely performed with this level of energy. It's just epic.
For this music video, they decided to keep the actual live audio (which is great!), just cutting out the majority of the "We are?? BABYMETAL" extensive outro.
About the song, Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce collaborated with BABYMETAL, writing guitar arrangements and also playing on the studio version.
SU-METAL still remembers this performance and specially the part they walked across the bridge with the crowd singing along as one of her favorite moments on stage. She also made this song her personal anthem.
    See you... next time!

Great reaction. This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su was 17, Yui and Moa only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death (actually several walls of death at that concert as the crowd were in sections. A journalist up in the balcony that night said he counted, I think it was, 21 mosh pits).
This was also the end of a 90 minute concert and yes, they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world.
About the song itself. 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, but it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way.
It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow.
Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version.

This performance is the one that truly sold me on Babymetal. I'd already seen Gimme Chocolate and Megitsune, but I wasn't yet a real fan. The emotional ride of Road of Resistance was my Babymetal "Road to Damascus" moment, #notacult. By the end I was an emotional wreck. They took me from one peak to the next and it shows the talent and professionalism of the whole Babymetal team. I realized that BM wasn't a gimmick or even just heavy metal but a cross between metal/J-pop and a Broadway show carefully choreographed to manipulate your emotions in the best possible way. Su, Moa and Yui are able to control tens of thousands of people in the audience, which never fails to leave me astounded given their young age, but all the years in Sakura Gakuin, rehearsals and touring makes it seem effortless even as we worry if they can pull it off.
The song is about fighting against the odds and never giving up and talks about beacon fires which along with the horse riding and fighting elements of the dance brings to my mind the resistance of Japan against the Mongol invasions. It has a strong DragonForce feel because Li and Totman from that band collaborated on it and played it on the album. There are many places that amaze in this performance including Hideki Ayoma's drumming or the guitar solos, but I really get the chills right after the crowd "wows" finish and there is the fast guitar riff and the girls' dance break end up with them standing strongly outlined by the stage lighting. For me that's where the music, choreography, staging and emotion all come together perfectly.
For your next songs I suggest a a couple from Budokan Black Night "Akatsuki - Budokan Black Night" and "Catch Me if You Can -Budokan Black Night". If you want to be totally amazed chack out "Tales of the Destinies".

Show or song? I think their best stage show is In the Name Of at Legend XX. Second of course is Babymetal Death at 1997.

This was the performance that made me want, no need, to see them live in Japan. Every detail of their performance is on point. In their more recent live performances, they seem to have relaxed the rigid format and are more playful with the audiences. I don’t know why but they make me smile every single time.

@@DeskPopDaveReacts Gimme Chocolate is about the 34th most popular Japanese song ever on TH-cam. Just saw a list. Racing into the Night by Yaosobi was 1. But 34 is pretty great for a metal song. Only metal song. No Vocaloid except for covers. Goodbye Sengen will probably be the first Vocaloid. It's close.

3:35 _Now Pizza Time! (Pizza Time!)_ 🦊🤘🍕
Thanks for coming back with more BM songs, those are their flags leading us to previous chapter called Metal Resistance, now our girls are already facing a new era and we'll be glad if you take a sneak peek to their new single "Divine Attack - Shingeki" that was released in October, is safe to react so don't worry, this clip is sometimes heavily blocked if you don't put filters so i hope nothing gets wrong in here.🙏
_Road Of Resistance_ is a power/speed metal song, is one of their most epic anthem and got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce (thanks Guitar Hero lol). Is all about facing your own path without looking back.
The wall of death is insane just like you noticed, is also called "mosh'sh pit", different from usual mosh pit because this one is safe to participate if you fall everyone will stop until you get up and get ready to keep going with the fun ride.
This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015 (a series of three large live concerts), live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena, by this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment.
With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages.
The Kami Band here are mind blowing set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (specially the guitarists), all of them are males.
    They are:
    - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums.
    - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar.
    - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP.
    - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene.
This group and everyone around involved on this project are caretaking professionally every single little detail to put a high quality top notch live show so you can have the best experience you ever had, that's another reason to appreciate the amount of love they put on the show, wether is big or small stage, the energy from these girls will still be there.
At the end of the show they always say _"We are! BabyMetal!"_ along with the crowd, that's another line borrowed to X-Japan live concerts, it's a moment to make the crowd feel part of the show because they certainly are.
Thanks for sharing this and like i said hopefully this won't be blocked.
See you next time and put your kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。The crowd involvement (mosh pit, call & response, chant etc.) occurs wherever they go on this planet. American people also did good job in any of 20 shows during BM's 2019 US Tour. For example, you will find videos showing 17,500 audiences doing the same chanting (even much longer one) at the Forum, LA on Oct. 11, 2019. In your video, Su shouted some words at 10:18 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She shouted it rarely since then. Last year (2021), on the final day (April 15) of 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN concerts, Su shouted the same words in the end-all of the show. She did it smilingly with matured, mild and friendly voice. It meant, I believe, "come on guys!" The audience smiled her back. I was there at the venue ヽ(^o^)丿
    ps. I have tickets to two-day shows on coming Jan.28 / 29. 😍

I think only BabyMetal - Akatsuki unfinished version legend 1997 or BabyMetal - No Rain No Rainbow legend S needs subtitles. These two songs are more like ballads, slow songs. Others can be watched without subtitles for the first time and with subtitles for the second time.
