It took me 3 days to reach Puri from Delhi, I started my ride from Delhi and then the first halt was Allahabad aka Prayagraj then Ranchi and Last Stop Jagannath Puri in Odisha. We were riding through the Naxal areas of Jharkhand and Odisha, it was dangerous but adventurous.

Story of Jagannath Puri Temple (Source: Wikipedia)
The temple was built by the Ganga dynasty king Anantavarman Chodaganga in the 12th century CE, as suggested by the Kendupatna copper-plate inscription of his descendant Narasimhadeva II. Anantavarman was originally a Shaivite, and became a Vaishnavite sometime after he conquered the Utkala region (in which the temple is located) in 1112 CE. An 1134-1135 CE inscription records his donation to the temple. Therefore, the temple construction must have started sometime after 1112 CE

Excellent travel blog .I too driven from Delhi to bhubaneswar Odisha in 1998 in a maruti Omni.
We too followed your route and that time road condition was so precarious and painful beyond imagination.From Aurangabad I choose Latehar datengaung road to reach Ranchi and halted there .
At that time I was 32 years old and now 57 but I am planning to go to Delhi from puri and then to dehradun and Jim corbette national park and back via maharashtra .
Pl.help me which season I should start my journey,can I complete my journey in 20days.
