  • Hello Everyone!
Thank you for watching Day 4 of our trip to Duhok, Iraq (KRI). I am so excited to share my trip with you and show you the beauty that is the Middle East. I hope you enjoy these videos, and they can be a step in ending the stereotype that Iraq is a dangerous place. I pray that Assyria continues to live on through us and we shall never forget our roots. Don't forget to like and subscribe to my channel to watch future trips!
AKITU: Akitu is the Assyrian festival and celebration that marks the first day of the Assyrian New Year! Traditionally celebrated as a 12 day celebration, with each day doing something different. This year marks 6774!
History: Assyrians are the indigenous people of modern day countries of Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria; as Assyria once existed amongst these borders. Going to Iraq, the homeland of our ancestors, is a big deal, especially for those of us in the diaspora, as we are able to see where our lineage comes from.

My comments section are NOT an area for politics, hate, etc. The point of my videos are to show people the beauty of the Middle East and Iraq in its entirety given its recent past. We need to be kind to one another, and acknowledge the history and land of the people.

Not iraq but KRG, if you want iraq go to baghdad or basra and not duhok or arbil

Yes, but you will never get this freedom as christians in rest of arab iraq. Believe me. KrG is best place for christians to live in middle east. Thanks@@NinsVlogs

Benamose sharafsez these are Assyrians in their original homeland, not just Christians. Stick to your native Iran if it doesn't fit!@@mehmetdereroberer5553
