Everyone knows " Mr. Blue Sky", but only a few klow ELO. This one, Turn to Stone, is truly underrated. I mean, listen to this guitar, the rythm, the perfect harmony. I'd like to have known/heard it during the 70's, but I'm so glad to discover it right now in the 20's when ever I want, where ever I want. Knowing it in the 70's is priceless, for sure. But listening to it right now, is also very good. Think about it, about the CHANCE with have to have access to EVERYTHING, where ever we want, when ever we want.
All these comments about good vibes and busy streets and whatnot, and yet they completely miss that this song is about a person worrying about their lover who hasn't returned home even after everyone else has done so. I will say this, the whole point of music, to me, is to turn emotion into something beautiful so props to E.L.O. for making such a sad story into something so upbeat and pleasurable to listen to.
Their crowning achievement. Or should I say "his crowning achievement.' Everything after this was a letdown. The preceding albums from Eldorado on were incremental improvements. But when you thought it couldn't get better than A New World Record, along came Out of the Blue!
ELO favs change because they've got so many uber-songs. But If I was forced to choose one specific track, I'd probably go for Eldorado plus Eldorado Finale.
OMG there was SO much good music in the late seventies, we took half of it for granted, er, for granite....get it? Turn to stone? Granite? Oh never mind.

high school sucked for me, I just graduated
high school sucked for me, I'm only 18 and I just graduated
This song made me fall in love with ELO. I wish I could have grown up in the 70's. I was born in 2001, yet all of Jeff Lynn's amazing music is what makes me truly happy. I wish music nowadays was this good.
Love it love it never get old!! I listen this when I work out!!❤
Everyone knows " Mr.
Think about it, about the CHANCE with have to have access to EVERYTHING, where ever we want, when ever we want.
this song ROCKS! - mcap awesome parodies
what
Parody Minecraft with this song?
Heres an idea, more cobblestone. A song about finding too much cobble and not enough ores
WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU MAN? HOLY SHIT ITS AN HONOR TO TALK TO YOU
@@MineCraftAwesomeParodys do it please
One of the great moments of rock music.
This is officially the last song I'll play when the world is ending
The eternal music and genius of ELO and I never get tired of listening to it. I'm 58.
Why does this not have more vie?, it is an absolutely beautiful song. ELO ROCKS!!
Great music. One of my favorite bands
Nothing but pure energy
that 13 second musical intro never fails to impress me. sounds vaguely menacing.
Jeff Lynne: The city streets are empty now...
Italy: You got that right!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Europe Update: not ONLY!
London U: everybody is here...
@@tomstrainsproductions USA: aren't you forgot somebody?
better empty streets than turning to stone ;-)
Bang! And there is a classic tune..👍
Love ELO! Discovered them through the Xanadu movie with Olivia Newton John. (RIP)
This is an excellent album by a great band.
sure is
Their crowning achievement. Or should I say "his crowning achievement.' Everything after this was a letdown. The preceding albums from Eldorado on were incremental improvements. But when you thought it couldn't get better than A New World Record, along came Out of the Blue!
Out of the blue= the best album and songs period.
Go mets bruh
Don't agree that everything after this was a let down. Time is a classic
I'm a 5000 year old demigod and I love this song
awsome
Chad Myron Gaines-Normington ELO kicks ass
Ok boomer
You don’t look a day over 4999
@@chriswonderer6856 lmao
I'm 41 years old and I have only just discovered ELO. They are amazing.
This is far and away their best song. What a shame its only got 13M
Without a doubt my favorite ELO song!
Mine too, Orion!
ILOVE EM ALL
orion deschamps I remember when this song was just released in the good days 70,s:). A lot of today's music is garbage...:(
orion deschamps between this or show down for me :)
ELO favs change because they've got so many uber-songs. But If I was forced to choose one specific track, I'd probably go for Eldorado plus Eldorado Finale.
I LOVE this song. ELO is like Queen's brother
Fine then. A mixture of Queen and the Beatles it is :)
Was just gonna say, Queen and ELO the beatkes next level....
More like Queen's older, better at everything brother
all three bands are British
The Beatles complimented them and said ELO was "doing something unique"
RIP Richard Tandy 😢
that sound at the beginning alone gives me the chills.
The only band to combine progressive rock with disco. Groovy stuff!
OMG there was SO much good music in the late seventies, we took half of it for granted, er, for granite....get it? Turn to stone? Granite? Oh never mind.
Thanks for making me chuckle
Having a rotten day you just made me smile thank you
Were you stoned when you came up with this gem? 🤪
Take us back ❤️
@@timeherenowbe3126 Now they were the good days
Izzy loves cool rock music 🎸 🎶 💘 Enjoy 1977.
I'm a brother. I'm 64 I use to dig this song in high school. Still listen to it. You to hide it from the brothers.
