Lol i went there once and ended up off my tits sitting there eating ice lollies with that kid from Grange Hill (Roly) while he was MCing. I could have imagined the whole thing i guess cos the scooby snax were particularily good that night lol mad times
If juiceman lost the Jamaican accent he'd be 10x better. Imagine if he was putting on an Indian or Chinese accent. Be proper in appropriate, why is the Caribbean accent different? Don't even need to change lyrics or patterns, just do it in an English accent.
Why bring the race thing into this? The man is a talent from wayback. I don't take offence that someone is appreciative my culture or lingua. There's a long tradition of MCs who aren't Jamaican of decent and flow and spit bars well, MC Lok-i (Jamaican English), Tuggawar, MC Shabba D, Mighty Moe, Riddla D, Skanker... Juiceman deserves all the respect and credit.
@@TakeMeBackPirateRadio it's not about race at all. The thing is, what no one has figured out is that you can take the words, melody and the patternation from Ragga without doing the accent - that would be original and still authentic. I'm not even saying it's wrong or culturally Inappropriate, just that it would be better if he did it in his own accent. Same thing with British rappers rapping in American accent. Exactly the same thing. Just imagine any other MC spitting in an accent that isn't theirs. Navigator doing Indian accent, IC3 doing Scottish, DET doing Italian. Stop with the accents!
@@stephentrott I get what you're saying in the context of other music so UK Hip Hop in an American accent is frowned upon, but the Jungle culture of MCing is strictly from the Sound System which is roots music. It has now grown into a diverse craft but back then that's how it was.
