I remember dancing to this song as a teen back in the 1960s and loving it! I also recall attending one of my high school's Friday night football games, and Rosie Grier was in attendance. He stood in the bleacher behind where my friends and I stood. I remember turning around and telling him that I loved this song "Fool, Fool, Fool", and he just pleasantly smiled. Dick Clark was right, after almost 60 years, I still recall how big, tall, courteous, and HANDSOME he was. Thank you so much for bringing back a GOOD memory.👏👏👍👍😁😁

Elaine that's a really cool story . I never knew Rosie Grier ever sang .
I was born in '58 but had older siblings going back to 1949 .
I remember seeing Rosey Grier on a number of shows when I was a kid I think he used to be on The Dean Martin Show and Laugh- In ... ?
      He really could sing .

Australian group Ray Brown and the Whispers had a number three hit in the Australian charts in 1965 with their cover version of this song. 👍

It seems like Rosey`s had 5 lifetimes. He was a star DL for the NY football Giants, then he's the anchor of the legendary Fearsome Foursome, then he's a singer/songwriter, bodyguard for RFK, movie actor, then minister, and spiritual adviser to presidents. He's been everywhere and everything.

I wonder how he lost the RFK bodyguard gig.

Sounds like they need to make a movie or miniseries about his life ... I remember when I was a little girl seeing him on some TV shows in the 60's .

He was guarding Ethel Kennedy when RFK was shot, but he was the one who wrestled the gun from Sirhan Sirhan.

Leave it to TH-cam to show me something I didn't know...Rosey Grier with a great song (a singing career)! I certainly knew the football part, and I know he was famous once upon a time because he was a big strong man who liked to do needlepoint embroidery...a man utterly confident in himself, a real joy to consider...but even with that, there is evidently so much more to Rosey Grier!

AND, check THIS out: (From his Wiki page)
"After Grier's professional sports career he worked as a bodyguard for Robert Kennedy during the 1968 presidential campaign and was guarding the senator's wife, Ethel Kennedy, during the Robert F. Kennedy assassination. Although unable to prevent that killing, Grier took control of the gun and subdued the shooter, Sirhan Sirhan."

My uncle Lewis tried to hire Rosey Grier to sing at my Bar Mitzvah. Uncle Lewis was a notorious Manischewitz drinker.

Little known fact: Comedian Freddy Lewis did a version of this song with his softball team. They were called “The NON-Fearsome Foursome”. xoxo The Clarences
