From this set thought Sword of Swords and Jade Raksha were two standouts -- everyone seems to put Bells of Death super high on their ranking but it didn't resonate all that much with me!
Damn, then I'm definitely gonna have to watch Sword Of Swords again! 😅😅 I'd say the bells themselves in Bells Of Death was definitely the most annoying part about that movie 🤣🤣 Thanks for your thoughts 🙏
@@thesharphandpath yes in my Bells review i mentioned that chiming being annoying - should have been a gimmick for the finale …. Sword is pretty brutal with all the murdering!
Ah, yes definitely should've only been used sparingly. I'm going back and watching your reviews for this box set now, you ripped Bells Of Death a new one haha.
@@thesharphandpath thanks for checking out my videos -- haha well i'm a harsh critic but it's only because I think other great stuff is out there -- and sometimes people misunderstand my rating system - for me a C is average - B above average and D below average
@CoinOpTV I honestly feel your critiques of the films are pretty spot on. I don't think you're being too hyper negative. The 60s Shaw Bros films definitely had their flaws.
Hey Jessie ,I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on these. Most of the films were given English titles by Shaws excellent translation department, and bear in mind they thought a movie should be called Dirty Ho to try and cash in on the success of Dirty Harry ,we are always going to lose . Hence your disappointment at Invincible fist . Raksha means to guard and protect by the way. Like you ,I find these films a bit of a slog because as a studio they were developing Wuxia ,fist and feet films hadn't happened yet ,so it is mainly sword play. I have seen nearly all of their kung fu /wuxia films (like over 300 titles ) and the 60's ones are my least favourite . That said compared to others from that period ,these films in the Shout set are some of the very best ,give or take a few. Personally I loved this box more than i thought i would ,but get why others don't . The next Shout set is going to be more to your liking. Fist and palm salute .
Ah I see, and thank GAWD lol. I dunno if I could handle another box full of meandering tales about Sword Mcguffins and metal clanging haha. As always I appreciate your insight 🤜🫷
@@thesharphandpath in the mid 70's there was the new wave of wuxia spearheaded by Chor Yuen, films were very different and way better, Killer Clans in volume 3 is a superb movie and well worth a watch Jessie.
I definitely feel like I'm going to enjoy the 70s films better 😅 Hoping Vol 2 will be way better (should have an unboxing video up for it in a week or so), but I'm probably gonna be waiting a while til I can afford Vol 3. (unless I can sell my old cellphone soon lol).

The fist was so invicible that they were too afraid to use it😂
Omg hahaha
Hopefully you're watching this on a big screen TV cuz that's the only way you're gonna see those tiny blurry movie covers lol!!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
