I found a couple of garden snails when i was driving around selling Tacos. One of them can move at 226mph so i make him race in the Indianapolis 500 and he wins. Me and my brother becomes very rich after this. Man, garden snails are amazing!
Every single creature has its charm :) I found a slug in my flat (don't know where it came from) and I ket it as a pet. She's doing great so far. Her fav food is zucchini.
I have a lot outside my house too but i don’t get them and keep them becuz once I had some and when I went to check up on them there were pesticides coming out of them ;-;
I remember your post about this 😂 you were like “these are the snails I kidnaped look at them suffering in their new habitat” I died from laughter, thanks for making this videos love your Chanel.
I bought an 8 gallon tank for the 6 snails I got on a hiking trail. Their names are: Gold, Coffee, Caramel, Swirl, Bumblebee, and Arnold :) I’ve added grass, some soil from my yard, leaves, bark, a rock, a small water dish, dandelion greens, mulberries, and banana pieces. I’ll add some eggshell next time someone eats eggs :p
I want to get a snail and name it cat😂 Update- i was cuddling with my boyfriend and asked if we could get a pet snail and name it cat and he said no... im pretty sad
I have 1 snail I keep as a pet. I found her in my backyard and that was 4 months ago! She’s still alive and I still have her! She’s been doing very well!
I have four snails, Bannana, Orange, Apple, and Zeebe. Ik the names are weird bit they fit 😆 P.s. I named them Zeebe because they have tightly coiled stripes like a zebra. And the rest I named because of their colors. I made them a diy enclosure out of recycled cardboard and plastics, and they have food, water, soil, space, and a dark area to sleep, Zeebe always like to sleep on the ceiling with Bannana 😊 Did you know? -Snails are hermaphrodites -They can self fertilize -They are social creatures -They are nocturnal -They are omnivores (You probably knew this already but, it's still cool 😆)
If it isn’t that short, feed it alot, maybe put some long term food in the enclosure, and moisturize the enclosure thoroughly. Then put a towel over any air holes to help keep in moisture. And even if it does dry out, the snail will cover its shell with hardened mucus and hibernate. They survive long droughts that way. And it will go under the suface of the soil usually, so do not panic if you do not find it. Just look in the soil.
As long as your not going for longer than 2-3 weeks then it’s fine. If you are leave some food that won’t go rotten quick and leave some calcium in there and spray it lots before you leave and put out of sunlight. Make sure they have a place to hide
I have 2 🐌 ! Don’t hate me but they are garden snails. They were with other snails in my garden but a bird came down and started pecking the snails. So I got the remaining 2 and put them in a big storage container (I’m getting a small fish tank for them !) and they have plenty of room, I put some wood, coconut 🥥 fibre as the flooring and some leaf litter and places to hide ! They are thriving and are so healthy and happy !
You have a super holistic care and tank for them! I feel as though other people think that snails don't need any attention, but you're the opposite! Love you girl!
Thanks for the video! I recently got 8 snails in the mail from Greece. There snails we have where I live are cute, but tiny tiny and I wanted some larger ones. I appreciate seeing your tank, I have been researching to make sure I am caring for then properly. Can't wait to see more of your snails!
I'm so excited I've always wanted to keep the pet snail that I see out in the wild indoors I believe I will also start a snail colony pet tank thanks for the inspiration and the information subscribed immediately ❤️🤟
there are so much snails everywhere where i live that i don't really understand why one would want one of them as pet but eh, it's cool. Fun video to watch.
I have a small tank with 8 snails and rollie pollies they are really cute and the easiest pet I have ever had. You can go catch some in a garden, plant some sort of live plants in their cage with moist dirt, get some bark off of a tree and your done
Thank you so much for posting this! Trying to learn more about snails. I have aquatic snails and am thinking about getting into land snails, they are so stinking cute.
@@vmillixn Hi, they are quite easy to take care of. You can feed them quite a variety but I suggest that you watch a few videos about caring for them. For e.g... I suggest watching the snail care series :-)
Ok, I have done all the research I could have done for my snails, and I just want to make sure they have the best life possible, so plaese , ALL THE SNAIL VIDEOS. Thank you!
Im naming my snails based of warrior cats ;-; dont ask why lol -snailstar-speedrun-lost eye-turtleshell-gardenturtle-lazyslide-baby teeth-slugheart-slimedleaf-yellowshell
I had a giant albino African land snail for about four years when I was younger. He had a plastic tank like that but I wish I had got him a proper one. Yes, I did call him a him. Yes, I know snails are biologically both sex. Anyway, I called him William because his friend that I got with him had passed away a few days after I got them. I originally called them Bill and Ben. Ben died so I was left with Bill. And as Bill is short for William, I changed his name to William. I loved that snail so much and I even took him on holidays with me. He was huge in the end but that didn't stop me from holding him. I did spray my hand with water before holding him so my hands didn't dry him out. But yeah. I might get another one now I've seen this!
Awww how cute they are, is so nice to see someone else love them too in this way 🥰❤ I started to rescue some snails, a lot of them with broken shells, repair them and than let them go in the best place for them. But.. I find some really old ones, and one is handicapped in his back part.. I can't let them out in the wild, so I keept them and give them everything they are need ❤ I love to see more videos about yours, love the egg shell and cat food combo in the grinder 😊 Thank you 🥰❤
I came here because im updating my snail habitat becuase I had 6 snails and then my snails had babies and now im at 40+ snails in a 15qt tub. Im about to redo a 10 gallon and plant some plants like what is in my crested gecko enclosure for them to thrive. Your habitat is awesome! I have a Gary and Skidmark!
This is a great enclosure! Some things I would change is not to have a rock in there (they can fall and brake their shell) and also get a cuttlebone . Eggshells tends to get moldy
If you are planning on keeping a snail, read this list, i am really good with snails and have 5 of my own. 1: Getting ready First, you need a habitat! Get a plastic container, make sure it isnt too small, or too big. (I use a plastic food container) Clean it well with NO chemicals, just with warm water. The habitats need clean soil, bacteria and bugs live in soil and harm the snails. I recommend getting garden soil and cleaning it. Get a container of garden soil and put boiling water in it. Shake it and wait till its dry again, the heat will kill bacteria and bugs. After that, make holes in the plastic container. Make sure the holes arent too big nor too small, and make sure the holes arent sharp and cant hurt your snail. Then, put your clean soil in the container and add decorations. Snails need a place to hide when they are scared. Snails are like humans, they want privacy. Get a small plant pot and flip it so it would be like a cave, then push soil into it. Add leaves and rocks, along with some sticks. Snails like to explore. Add some food and get a small bottle cap full of water in there so the snail can drink. Finally, add a cuttle bone in there, its used to provide calcium 2: Food and calcium Cuttle bones are just the right things to help snails get calcium. Snails will munch on them. Snails need calcium to grow their shells. For food, you can put in things like: carrots, cucumbers, apples, lettuce, leaves ect. DO NOT let the snails eat salty or starchy foods such as potatoes as they are really bad for the snails. 3: I have a snail, now what? Make sure you have a spray bottle of water, you MUST spray the habitat with water AT LEAST twice a day. When its cold, put warmer water, and when its hot, put cooler water. Snails need water. Clean everything in the habitat and change the soil at least every 3 - 4 days as snails poop alot and it makes the soil dirty. If its your first time keeping snails, only keep ONE as snails will reproduce and make little eggs. Only keep two snails if you are ready to have hundreds of baby snails. Make sure it isnt too hot or too cold in the room either. Dont add paper items because snails will eat them and its bad for them. Dont add anything sharp in the habitat because it will hurt the snail. Snails DONT need baths, the only thing close to a bath you can give them is water, spray warm water on them twice a day. Make sure habitat is sealed properly, snails are quite strong and can sometimes lift up lids from habitats. If you have any questions, type them in the reply section.
What type of snail should I get as my first snail pet? Another question, can you hold them? If so, how do you hold them and what precautions should I take?-(If there any precautions) Side note: I'm sort of worried about any parasites or diseases that they might or could carry, if you know of any that are worry some or that I should take caution with the type of snail, please let me know. Thanks :)
I just rescued a garden snail from my backyard. Thank you for this video! I subbed because you have leos too! I am in the process of updating my leos tanks and I used TheBioDude dirt you suggested thank you! 😊👍
I found a snail while looking for bitter gourd in my garden and I've kept it safe in another plant until I make a new home for it..... Well I hope I'll be able to find a friend for him..
Yes! I work in my school garden and the teacher allowed me to collect all the snails I have been doing this care for them for weeks. But I'm not sure what to do for heat in the winter. I live in California and it can get to high 40s in the winter.
Hi I've been following you for a while please put my mind at ease with the following advice. I got my snail tank today and sterlized some logs and mossey stones in preparation. My questions are. I heard when snails climb they are infected or warning other snails please expand (I worry alot!) How often do you clean the tank out? Do they need their shells cleaning? How often do they need calcium?
Love the video, but I have sum tips! 1. if u use egg shell try to grind it into a complete powder whit no bits, they could cut themselves on it, or use calcium powder, mostly would recommend putting a calcium plate into the habitat that they can snack on! 2. try avoiding rocks in your Habitat, they pull Fall on them and Brest the shell 3. have a Little Water Cup inside that they can drink from[if there is one and I dint see it I’m sorry]
My dad found atleast 50 snails under a wooden bridge he made I think our pond attracts them so now i kept four and trying to learn how to take care of them any tips
I found a snail on my porch this morning and I decided to keep, him or her soooo I guess I'm a new snail mom. But I'm going to treat it with care so let's see how I do 🤗
Rex Erection springtails are little micro bugs that are white, they eat mold and left over food. Springtails and isopods help keep tanks clean if it’s moist enough.
I wouldn’t recommend hard things like rocks because snails can go onto the roof of the tank and then sometimes fall onto the rocks and break a piece of their shell. It happened to my snails when I didn’t really know that could happen.
Just so you know, cheap cat food in the United States can be full of sugar which is dangerous to snails, and can be mainly made of corn with not much protein. Boiled egg whites are better for protein, and should only be given about once per week or else the snails can grow too rapidly and become deformed.
Tanner Z snails are really fun to keep as little pets so if your thinking about it you should do it just make sure that you treat them with antibiotics which you can find online but if you are ordering a snail from a snail breeder you do not need to treat them for anything
Be careful moss and dirt sometimes have mites in them, and the mites live in and on the snails and can hurt them. If you see small bugs on your snails I suggest you clean out the whole tank and try to spray them off. Also make sure your using snail safe water, distilled water, and spring water are safe for them, tap water has chemicals in it that can also hurt the snails. And also they breed like crazy so if you see them hiding in the dirt they are probably laying eggs, and after they leave the spot you can check there for eggs I suggest you remove the eggs and either keep them or put them outside. Raising baby snails can be hard and if you do make sure to provide them lots of calcium for their shells. I have learned from these things the hard way so hopefully this comment is helpful to you! :)
yes, they poop a lot and it builds up so you should clean the walls about every 2 to 3 days. and yes, ive made the mistake of not securing the lid down and my first snail escaped, luckily he didnt go very far. if your snail is big, place a heavy object on the lid but careful not to disrupt the air flow. :)
Aw cute! That has to be the fansiest snail tank I've ever seen I love how u treat them just as good as u treat ur other pets! :)

That's obvious
My brother said he wanted my snail to die and it was just a baby snail (btw my snail’s name is Max)

Definitely try sweet potato. They love that.
I have a whole bunch of glass snails in my yard so I decided to catch 2 baby ones and they've been doing well ever since
Jacob looking at your prof picture you don't seem to be mature enough to take care of a snail.
I have a lot outside my house too but i don’t get them and keep them becuz once I had some and when I went to check up on them there were pesticides coming out of them ;-;
what’s Life lmfao that sounds terrifying yet hilarious
What do mean by that lmao

I never thought I'd be excited about snails, but here we are....
Be careful with rocks! If your snails fall, it could crack their shells. They're not advised to have in their inclosures
@frog1rl xx1 you could use terrarium bark or just clumps of moss or something
I had an intrusive thought about getting a pet snail this spring. But now the thought won’t go away so now I’m getting a snail I guess. 🤩
Today I found a snail that was drying out so I put it in a little bit of water and he’s fine now. His name is Chaz and he LOVES broccoli ♥️
Snail can sleep for months if there is no rain , so if you see a snail in sirect sunlight in a dry spot its fine
I've heard that snails sleep upside down/on the lid when they're comfortable with their environment
Sam Bear Oh good! Both my snails sleep up on the lid, 😅
Mine do too 😀
I thought is was because they get hot
I bought an 8 gallon tank for the 6 snails I got on a hiking trail. I just found a new pet snail, he's called Garlic :)
I named mine Uzumaki :D

@Sarai MoraSoto Clyde is such a cute name!
I want to get a snail and name it cat😂
Update- i was cuddling with my boyfriend and asked if we could get a pet snail and name it cat and he said no... im pretty sad
hide a critter keeper under your bed lol

-Snails are hermaphrodites
-They can self fertilize
-They are social creatures
-They are nocturnal
-They are omnivores
(You probably knew this already but, it's still cool 😆)
The names you gave them are the cutest and funniest ever!!
Guys I have a garden snail and when I go traveling I won’t know what to do with them. What should I do?
You could ask a family member or close friend to look after it they are low maintenance so they wouldn’t struggle

I wouldn’t recommend hard things like rocks because snails can go onto the roof of the tank and then sometimes fall onto the rocks and break a piece of their shell. It happened to my snails when I didn’t really know that could happen.
SO CUTE AWEEeEeeE❤️❤️
I used to own snails but they unfortunately died so i really want new ones now!
I got a baby garden snail yesterday idk what to do with the snail in the morning it came out!!
Just so you know, cheap cat food in the United States can be full of sugar which is dangerous to snails, and can be mainly made of corn with not much protein. Boiled egg whites are better for protein, and should only be given about once per week or else the snails can grow too rapidly and become deformed.
Do you guys know where I can find snails?? I live in apartments with a park behind and no grass infront of the apartments!
be careful, land snails in the wild can carry mites and parasites!
Scarlett Steen Wait really😳
Tanner Z yeah, you can treat them though:)
Tanner Z snails are really fun to keep as little pets so if your thinking about it you should do it just make sure that you treat them with antibiotics which you can find online but if you are ordering a snail from a snail breeder you do not need to treat them for anything
ask a family member if they have snails
I think they're cool critters.
Soooo cool! I love snails! Would love to see more care videos! Do they need sunlight?
i have 3 snails and i love them so much 😂
What should I nme my two snails (got them today) Larry and Larissa, or Kim and Jim. You can pick any of the names.
What did u name them?
what size tank would you guys recommend for 2 garden snails?
do you really have to clean their tank. or do you just leave it? also does the top of the tank need a cap (will they get out) or will they stay in?
yes, they poop a lot and it builds up so you should clean the walls about every 2 to 3 days. and yes, ive made the mistake of not securing the lid down and my first snail escaped, luckily he didnt go very far. if your snail is big, place a heavy object on the lid but careful not to disrupt the air flow. :)
OMG Happy tails you have snails?!!?🐌🐌😍😂😂😍😅😃
My snail layed 4 cluches of eggs! Oh god help us all!lol😂
When misting snails can I spray them with a normal spray bottle and tap water or does it have to be certain water?
Add some more hides! They will love it!
What type of lid? Or can you recommend an aquarium?
i use a 10 gallon and a Lid with a lot of small holes
