A question for an expert like you… I just purchased a new balafon and noticed that the gourds only have too holes (for the sound to go in ). I love the famous “buzzing” sound that the balafon makes and would love to modify the gourds by drilling an extra hole in each gourd and covering it with plastic or thin paper… is this safe for me to try? I don’t want to ruin the gourd element

What are the notes on a balofon? Mine don't have letters on them. I notice some do. As a beginner it would help me. Thanks

When you drilling just make it very carefull, not oress on gourd
You can use some sharp instrument like knife or drill with driller it screwdrivermachine
