As much as I do love g1 Twyla, I love g3. I think the new face sculpt and screening reads more younger and matches her age because the G1 face mold looked a little mature and ade her look a bit older. But I do love both and I'm really excited about g3 newer characters

She's adorable and I love all the little body details they added to her. Part of me is still a little torn about how much they've softened the facial features of the characters over all, making them rounder and sweeter-looking? I hope over time they do give other dolls things like sharp cheekbones and whatnot (I'm still holding out a bit of hope for my girl Spectra to make a return and look just as dramatic as ever...). Also new Twyla gave me Maddie Hatter vibes too, I'm glad you pointed that out lol
I'm gonna be honest with you, I think the new pet is far creepier than the old one. I much prefer the old pet. There's something deeply unpleasant to me about just the iris and pupil being buttons as opposed to the entirety of the eye being buttons. Maybe I'm just weird. Old Dustin is soooooo cute, he looks like a sweetie, but new Dustin looks like he'd kill me violently in my sleep. Also, G3 Twyla is short, she's the same height as Draculaura, but Twyla is wearing platforms.
Out of all the dolls so far Twyla seems the most unchanged with small tweaks to her design that fit with the g3 look. I think the designs knew she was a huge fan favourite and why fix something that isent broken? Twyla was always my fav I have her original doll on display in my home. I love the g1 version the best but I have to say her g3 design is very well done.

Honestly I was just sitting here enjoying her vicariously thru u (haven't had the hmchance to get one yet) and she said the mask comes with eye holes 😬😬😬😥😰 And I think they did that so you can see the glow effect thru the mask (or in brighter light)
I have heard you say in a couple of these videos that the G3 budget "day out" dolls don't have the chest joint. That might be true for the early release dolls, but my budget "day out" Draculaura definitely has a chest joint. Just wanted you to know!
I have the G1 Twyla but I rerooted her last year bc the glue was one of the worst doll I've ever had. I was on the fence about getting her, but now I think I'm gonna have to have her. Just so I complet my new G3 collection.lol

I think they used Maddie's hair blend like they used Cupid's pink blend on Draculaura.

The eye holes are probably so when it’s fake you’ll see the glow with the mask on is my guess
I prefer g3 Twyla to original but my favorite Twyla is Freak du Chic. I did not realize G3 glows in the dark. Awesome

Mine has a bit sticky/oily hair, too. I put some baby powder, it helped a bit.
