Hi all! For anyone who is confused. This film is not out publicly yet! The footage comes from my own copy of the film. Which I received to review the film! The film premiers at the end of November 2023 and will release publicly later this year! I hope that clears things up!
Because of this film, my plan to alter it by promotion granted to the team behind it is blown off. I didn't know it came out last year. But I can promote the team to make Sodor's Climactic Endeavor.
@@ShiningTimeStudios475the premier was last time I checked. But cancellations could always happen. It is due to come to winder platforms at a later date this year!
Spot on review! I would agree on what you said on the pacing, interviews and overall quality. I saw the film myself and was blown away. However I was a tad bit disappointed that they didn't talk about why Thomas is good character (like there's more to his character, he is a light in a dark world) Also they skipped over the genius of the Brenner era and the music of the show from the CGI series. (how can they mention how great the toby theme is when Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure is a better example for non fans. Also the film used the same people being interviewed too much. I would have had 2 different sets of people being interviewed at the beginning and at the end. Other than that the music was epic and it was very well made! Stay Unlikely!
Thanks for making this review, James. I think you really got through to us the pluses and minuses, and what works as a film and not just as a simple doc about loving Thomas. Most importantly, it doesn’t spoil the whole movie, but wets the appetite for the full production. I certainly feel that way now!
2:47 and 2:50-2:54...THERE I AM, GARY! THERE I AM! Thank you so much for including my scenes in your review, my friend! Curious as what you thought of my contribution to the film.
I have to say I admire the Unlikly fandom and it’s passion the Cinematography and interviews feel like a genuine documentary for anyone who isn’t a Thomas fan but would understand more I generally hope the doc gets a release date, idk if I am willing to attend the premiere because it’s in New York and idk if I have the funds but hope everyone has a good time
I can't wait for this. If I can, I'd show this to my friends and family if it's not too long. Is it possible to tell me what the length is? If you can't right now, I understand.
That's Puffing Billy the railway I visited. Can you do a review of my Thomas films such as Series 45 and 46? They have some of the Thomas characters and I've got in S46 episodes one to five you might pick up others that are from Bob The Builder and - no not My Little Pony from 1986 - My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic.
It's amazing how An Unlikely Fandom uses footage from 1995 BBC Documentary, The Thomas The Tank Engine Man, and has it in high quality. Great review, James.
Thomas has been my favorite childhood show ever since I was introduced to the classic model series which I still love watching today and was how I got into to steam engines and after my visit to the Talyllyn Railway for the Awdry extravaganza last year I have come to appreciate the love and enthusiasm that the fandom has created over the years thanks for sharing this great review for this upcoming documentary of my favorite blue tank engine 👍💙🚂
It was thanks to Thomas thae Tank Engine & Friends, that I got introduced to Thunderbirds, both shows have stunning model works, amazing scenery and captivating stories for all generations.
Will it be on TH-cam or online somewhere else? May I please have a link when it comes out? Im a huge Thomas fan, when I was 3 1/2 4 I had cancer I’m alright now but it was chemo. I was really sick and my dad like reverend awdry read the books to me over and over again. That’s my story. I can tell you more if you are doing another Thomas project. Hope the documentary is worth the wait I’m stocked! All the best from New Zealand! 🇳🇿
@@patricksavage1405 This isn't my documentary. This is just my review of the film. I believe this will release to the public by the end of this year! Sorry to hear about your sickness, good to hear you're doing well!
If there is one thing I regrets about this documentary. I regret having a lack of patience with this documentary because I felt things have been going nowhere from when production was starting. And that was that way because of COVID-19, a pandemic that no one in the whole world wanted at all. But I should have known that projects take a longer time to make than what is to be expected. I begun seeing it that way with the LEGO Skywalker saga video game because it started development a few years ago after Rise of Skywalker premiered in theaters and wrapped up production finally in 2021, with a 2022 release at last. Reviews came out positive for that game and I'm happy it didn't come out rushed, unfinished, or anything like that. And at this point, I have a feeling to think about the best of the Thomas fandom and a lot less of the worst of the fandom, which was also that reason why I felt bitter about this fandom thanks to some people (or even idiots) behaving like spoiled children over other people having different opinions (i.e. anyone that likes the BWBA movie and the three seasons made for the original show or the AEG reboot are idiots and we are superior by their logic) on certain things or even treating other people working on the show like scum, especially on some certain things they didn't like. I am indifferent with how Sharon Miller's tenure was during Seasons 12-16 today than I was as a kid, and even I didn't go out my way to witch hunt her unlike how most other people did. That is what I needed to think less about or just not let them fly over my head all the time. But, I do like the most creative and talented of people from that fandom.
My friend i love your channel and, in particular, this review. It's very balanced and insightful without going into major spoilers. I really hope this documentary gets a release in the UK so I can enjoy it. Thank you so much and keep on chugging ☺️🚂🚃

Will the documentary be on TH-cam?
I think that is still undecided
Here’s to hoping. In the event it isn’t, will it be on any streaming platforms?
I - think - that I made a cameo in this!
I can’t go, so will be available after?

So we can we see on TH-cam after all Thomas was born in the 🇬🇧
This is just a review though. This isn't the actual film. That releases publicly later this year!
