I don't see why Black people have to behave and dress a certain way, to be Black, to me Carlton is more of a true person because he doesn't mould himself to what the stereotype is, he's just him, and tbh for me the best most relatable character in the show. Ethnicity is relevant, but it shouldn't be the ultimate definer of a person, character and the way you treat others is important.

Will and Carlton had both hilarious and dramatic moments together. But the scene in Will's hospital room, after Carlton buys a gun for protection after Will is shot, ALWAYS makes me sob buckets. 😭 It's probably some of the most powerful acting from both Will and Alfonso! 🎭♥️😔
Oh this show is so beloved that even about 30 years they are still airing it on today's TV that's how good a show is if it never leaves television for almost forever.
This was one of my kids and my favorite show as they were growing up. Every show that started, we would die of laughter watching and listening to the words and the music! I'm glad they're still on for us to see a wonderful, wholesome, family program. Never ever did I have to worry about the content that would be shown and have to explain what was in the next scene. The way tv should be now. Not having to have the remote in your hand to immediately change the channel.
Three of my fav Will and Carlton moments (in this exact order): 1. Their "Apache (Jump On It)" dance. It will NEVER not be iconic! 2. Will and Carlton dancing to Tom Jones in the finale, which really showed their character development. 3. Will and Carlton ending up in jail only to use a news segment to get Uncle Phil's attention. Brilliant.
You should put a 4 and 5 one being the Speed scene where Will is worried about what happened to him after taking drugs and the gun scene as it shows you that Will wants to ensure that Carlton doesn't go down the wrong path
Will and Carlton standing up to the frat leader is iconic because it showed us that even within the POC community there are those that will be judgemental and will trip those because of who they are even if they are in the same race. Black on black prejudice is very real and happens more often than it should. This show would get real many times, like when they get arrested for driving a car that was "too fancy" for them.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air has to be my favorite sitcom growing up!!! Will & Carlton’s chemistry on screen was pure hilarity and magic!! I’m that close with my cousins. The Jump on It Dance is funny and iconic af and it deserves the top spot!! We’re still doing that dance to this day!

Honorable mention: the episode "72 Hours," where Will challenges Carlton to survive in a tough neighborhood with his friends. Turned out Carlton was the "cool" one after all.
Carlton made the show a legend, there's something mercurial and other about him, and his dance made him a relatable soul to me, his goofy 1950s persona, grade A student, honest attitude, and getting into scrapes, I couldn't relate to the other characters though the show was funny, well written and warm, but Carlton, yes, I could see myself in him very much, his blackness and my whiteness was irrelevant. It has that fuzzy warm 90s vibe, funny, edgy but cosy, not all this gritty edge dark comedy of today.
Yesterday, woke up with the song, 'As We Go' stuck in my head. No joke! DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince's album, 'Parents Just Don't Understand'. How'd I get so old? 🤪

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air has to be my favorite sitcom growing up!!! Will & Carlton’s chemistry on screen was pure hilarity and magic!! I’m that close with my cousins. The Jump on It Dance is funny and iconic af and it deserves the top spot!! We’re still doing that dance to this day!

Carlton made the show a legend, there's something mercurial and other about him, and his dance made him a relatable soul to me, his goofy 1950s persona, grade A student, honest attitude, and getting into scrapes, I couldn't relate to the other characters though the show was funny, well written and warm, but Carlton, yes, I could see myself in him very much, his blackness and my whiteness was irrelevant.
It has that fuzzy warm 90s vibe, funny, edgy but cosy, not all this gritty edge dark comedy of today.
That was always one of my most favorite and funniest shows. And Carlton doing his dance when he thinks no one is at home will bring you to tears.
Yesterday, woke up with the song, 'As We Go' stuck in my head. No joke!
