Bringing Back the Grunge. Love the tom Pattern in the middle section of this. This was Screaming Trees first album with Barrett Martin on drums. He's tracked drums for tons of different bands such as STP , R.E.M. and QOTSA. He was also in the supergroup Mad Season with Layne Staley and Mike McCready. I'll have some more videos on the way soon :) Let me know your thoughts below. Cheers, Colm
Barrett Martin always flies under the radar of grunge drumming which is a shame. He’s so tight. Killing it as always, Colm. So sick to see your channel growing so much, can’t think of any one who deserves it more. Cheers
Watching this video {for the third time) has taught me a few things. 1. I go for a few years at a time before next hearing this song, and sometimes forget how much I love it. 2. When you hear what at first seems to be a relatively straight forward beat, you realise when you watch, how hard this is to play. 3. Colm, you're a fucking excellent musician.
Great song choice!!! One of my favorites from that era, very underrated band. I'm glad I got to live through that time in music history, this brings back a lot of great memories.
Nice work my friend! I’ve always wondered how the drums were played on this interesting song. My cover band in Los Angeles, California wants to learn it.
Excelente. Muy buena canción. Me encanta como la tocas. Conocí este tema hace poco y me fue inevitable subirme a la batería y empezar a tocarla. Excelente trabajo 👍.
Colm! I've always loved this track! Great cover! Can you explain the ends of the choruses to me? I get that it's in swung time in 4/4, but the end of the choruses (spare for the end of the track) seem to have a single measure of 5/4. Does Barrett add a beat on those before coming back in? I've never been able to pinpoint it. Strangely, it seems to sound cut-off and abrupt, for having added a measure, if that's the case.
Yeahhh, Colm. You never lets us down! Love Trees and all that Seattle Scene, your channel is a real reference for me, a very very beginner drummer at 42 Y.O. Keep going friend! Cheers from Brazil
Great cover brother .....I had a Suicidal Tendencies board : ( and a "Powell/Peralta" freestyle Canadian Mountie Skull (holding up a dead beaver ...i think)
Is that a shuffle? Whatever it is it keeps the song from ever touching the ground. Great cover, I always enjoyed this one because of the drum part and it's great to see someone bang it out. Thanks!

Great job once again. Screaming Trees is such an underrated band. And probably the most underrated in Grunge, actually.
They really remind me of Oasis, especially on this track
