And finally, Tropical Rouge comes to an end and I’m gotta be honest here, this season was really needed. Think about it about: We were cursed with one of the worst years of the century and Healin Good’s theme, even though the season was good, conveniently reminds us why. With all the negativity going on in 2020, some lighthearted fun is definitely what we can use. The season hyped itself to be a silly season and well, it delivered, even though it can feel overloaded. The characters are decent and likable too. I like all of the characters and they were fun to follow and as you said, they weren’t over glorified heroes. You are pretty spot on about how Tropical Rouge’s situation is kinda similar to Smile. Both are Precure seasons made after a huge crisis to lift the people’s spirits up. Both don’t have a lot of plot, it’s lighter than helium. And both have five Cures as a team. Both are fun to watch but like I said in video covering the last episode, Tropical Rouge just doesn’t have the soul that Smile has during its run. Wait, sorry. That’s a bad way of putting it. Let’s rephrase that: The heart is clearly there but the quality and charm just doesn’t match up to Smile’s. And I have two cents to explain why. Nope, it’s not because of the fights but then again, there’s not much of competition there if we compare them, despite a few good ones from Tropical Rouge here and there. XD The first reason is the characters. Once again, I like all of the Cures in Tropical Rouge. They are fun little girls who all deserve a scoop of vanilla ice cream with any topping of their choice. They all also got an interesting plotpoint. But the truth is, the level of attachment I gained from them isn’t as strong as Smile’s gals and that’s because the screentime. Everyone gets a chance to shine in Smile. They all have great moments and get to grow. It’s great to see Miyuki’s growth, Yayoi standing up for herself, Reika finding her way, Akane’s treasure, and Nao protecting her siblings. Laura, as awesome as she is, just gets loads of screentime and because of that, the other characters aren’t as developed as her but at least Manatsu shared some of that screentime with her and Minori and Asuka got some development at the 3rd half, with Minori getting better at writing and Asuka being friends with Yuriko again. They are really good moments but still needs abit more focus to hit home run. And Sango…..holy crap, Sango. She gotten even LESS screentime and I say this as a Cure Coral stan: Her arc was disappointing. The few focus she gets about trying to stand out and it basically ended with her being a support character at the end. She was nearly as neglected as Saaya in Hugtto and is just the “cute” one. Another reason is the tone. FYI, I don’t mind Tropical Rouge being silly to the end and at least they stuck with their guts to that. Good for them but I think the bad timing on some jokes downplays the emotional stuff and the attachment too. Smile is a silly season too but it has a better timing in when it wants to joke and when it wants to be serious. And believe me, there’s ALOT of jokes in that season! Again, I ain’t downplaying Tropical Rouge’s own like Cure Oasis and the Witch and Manatsu and Laura’s goodbye but with the jokes that happened in between those moments, things like Yayoi’s dad, Miyuki’s grandma, Akane’s romance, Nao almost losing her siblings, and Reika’s decision just sticks out more. That’s probably why there are more feels in Smiles. The emotional moments lasted longer since they have the time to sink in more. Sorry to keep going on about Smile like that but I think the main point I’m trying to get is that we had something done before but better, which is why the mileage in Tropical Rouge isn’t the same. Don’t let my rant fool you though because despite the gripes and flaws Tropical Rouge has, it’s still a fun time! It’s not outstanding or even great but still decent, especially if you want to have a little fun. The plot sucks and it blows that they just dump the interesting stuff down the drain but at least they were honest about it. (Ngl, it would make the season much better if they handled it more) The Pretty Cure and villains are underdeveloped (Save for Laura, though Asuka and Minori got some too) but I still like ‘em. I say this is one of the enjoyable seasons, flaws and all. Thanks for taking the time to make this robust overview, Adam! It was great and I like those Kamen Rider examples you provided and that Cure Grace pun at the near end. XD
Yeah, I agree. Despite the many flaws, Tropical Rouge is still an okay Precure series. I do like some of the experimental episodes too, like the Anthology episode, that was great. The villains as well are a joy to watch too.
Sango is actually my favorite cure of the season In my opinion I think she has really good development but I can understand what you mean that she didn't get much focus episodes overall a pretty good season of pretty cure
@@conradojavier7547 I agree, They SERIOUSLY need to do one since it looks like We where Starved of one last year and NOW this year as well thanks to Toei's Bullshit of announcing the Delicious Party PreCure Movie in September.
You did a really excellent job on pointing out all the goodness there was in this season, which makes it all the more disappointing that that goodness wasn't used to its full potential. Those first ten or so episodes got me really excited and invested, but as time went on, it just went increasingly downhill will stalled plotlines and little to no character development. I really hope the writers learn from their mistakes and make the next season better.
@nintendolife25 Hopefully they don’t make the same mistakes Tropical Rouge made. Delicious Party is on the right track so far, but I’m still kind of worried how the story will turn out.
Tbh, I was literally hooked in the beginning; the context, theme, make up as the key to motivation and Laura as a mermaid. Yet, after Laura becomes human, he story... Began to feel generic and unmotivating again like in past seasons? The season forgets her mermaid form, forgets the make up motif, becomes generic filler eps and how the 5 Cures did not have enough eps to go through deeper characterization for e.g. Coral (despite the fact Precure has 40+ eps) and the villains... Yea, Close had more intent than the Crab Chef. Overall, I was more interested in Cure Oasis than the main team in the end. There were funny eps of how the Cures raced towards Asukas train, the first ep and the only one Sakuga episode when they acquired a new powerup (that was my fav). Yet, I felt like they could've done more with this season in terms of its theme and balancing funny with seriousness (80% it was over the top, like it became kinda annoying. Take the final episode where they had the sad moment as an example, to having an unnecessary comedic insert to break the emotion halfway. Not a good idea to do that, Toei.) I hope the character designer for GoPri and Tropri does another season though; with a more serious tone in the story (ofc, this is done by the director of season in charge) just like GoPri, but mix it with little comedy effect from Tropri when the time calls for it.
With problems I personally enjoyed it though yeah they did Sango dirty. There is one thing that has been on my mind regarding not only Laura but Lala from star twinkle. I feel both of them could have worked on a diferent show not related to precure and be able to carry it with them as the lead from the start.
Impression: Tropical-Rouge problems are; Primary story, Kururun just exists, Lots of filler episode, The comedy is bland, The villains are boring, The Motivation is just there... it's too simple, The Make-up gimmick didn't do much, and lastly Incomplete development for the Cures How to fix: Tropical-Rouge can be fix by writing as long as the story is connected to the plot. Having a filler episode is fine but give some limitation on it. I don't have any problem for this series as a goofy-type format like Zenkaiger did, however don't force us to laugh if the joke truly didn't make any sense. I'll remain the Cure's personality as well the object that already possess by the Yaraneeda. Keep it mind that my ideas may exceeds the show's budget but they are not good/perfect. I just try to bring back the potential what Pretty Cure supposed to be. It's true this franchise is a "Kid show" but that doesn't mean you put the show into down the hill. Kids are smart not stupid. 10 Ways to fix Tropical-Rouge 1. Make the Motivation as a source of energy to the stuff that people enjoy the most during their activities while the Make-up gimmick will serve as a main source of power for the Cures 2. Reference the Comedy format from Carranger - at least some of the joke has more impact and didn't overboard with it 3. Use Kururun on the battlefield while supporting the Cures. It can use Hybrid Water-Ice type move (Sealeo anyone?) 4. Improve the Villain's personality 5. The way of creating a Yaraneeda will possess the victim's (of the week) object that they use the most during their activity example like; Numeri possess her own Stethoscope 6. Moderate the Tropical Club activities 7. Serve the Mermaid Queen as a mentor role to the cures 8. Expand the Cure's Development 9. Fix the episode a. Get rid the filler episode b. Reference the Marine World concept from Mermaid Melody and use as a world building plot c. Episode 24 is part 1 Origin of Witch of Delay and Cure Oasis d. Explain more about the Law of Grand Ocean and don't forget the Decommissioning Chamber/Memory Erase Machine plot e. Mermaid Queen's origin f. 2 parts team-up episode with their predecessor team; part 1 for Star Twinkle and part 2 for Healin' Good - Seems that Tropical Rouge didn't have a crossover movie with 2 previous teams like Miracle Leap did, let's give them a special offer g. Episode 41 will be the last part Origin of Witch of Delay and Cure Oasis h. 3 parts climax episode with the Witch alongside Butler i. Laura's memory will be decommission after the final battle then restore memory process in the next episode during the second half 10. The attack move for Marine Beat Dynamic is Aqua Tail instead of a kick while the Super Tropical Paradise will be the appearance of a Cannon (as we've seen in imagination theory sequence of Laura in Episode 7) when Land and Marine Heart Kuru Ring are combine while their outfit is in super form based from Cure Oasis's outfit Overall: Tropical-Rouge is not exactly a bad show by any means it's just a Not-so Tropical, Lackluster, Wasted Opportunity, and Unmotivated season. The motif was interesting but it just didn't give enough potential on it. I do like the Cures, weapons, and outfit but they went overtime with the club activities imo. The Pop Team Epic-like episode is the only episode I enjoyed while the rest is hard to follow. The production department truly didn't know what to do itself.
45:00 To be fair you can see Butler being obsessively loyal from the start with his genuine concern for the Witch, though after episode 44 it doesn't come up again. Pity because a 'living in the past' Knight vs the 'Do what's best now' Precure should make a great final clash of (ironically) motivations. Same with Elda who kept hinting that she'd been left behind, the Witch outliving Augnete, Butler wanting to bestow Eternal Life to the Witch with the Fool's Casket, the Memory Wipes being introduced because Mermaids outlived humans. All these threads feel like they should tie together in a neat bow...but they don't.
37:33 That would be the best case scenario. The worst case scenario would be that the poop joke was *TOEI'S* middle finger to the audience who expected a better show. The equivalent of that Mother's Basement "Emma flipping the audience off" joke in the "Worst Anime of 2021" video, except it's more real, this time.
I think the main thing that bothers me about this series is that I felt there was so much untapped potential, and I honestly felt like there was a lot and too much "filler" episodes. I mean as much as I love some of the experimental shorts they've produced, and thought they were really creative and fun. I'm not gonna lie when I say that the recap episode they had just before the final act of the show was one of the biggest time wasters I've ever had the dissatisfaction of watching. I think it bothers me that they chose to make a recap episode versus another episode focusing on some much needed story building.
To be honest, the season was good; I actually liked it. It also got my attention when the Queen was mindwiping her people. I honestly think that the Queen was truly intended to be the real antagonist instead of the Witch. After all, she tried to be a Precure before Laura did and something in the back of my mind is saying... maybe she did have something to do with that mazinger-like monster in the flashback. If the writers had stuck to their guns, the Queen would have been a good antagonist with, possibly, survivor's guilt issues. Maybe that monster in the flashback made a deal with Queenie to create the mindwiping machine, or maybe the Queen, during the days when the Witch attacked, saw something horrific. Either way, Tropical-Rouge was good overall and not a mess by focusing on a deus ex machina fairy (aka Star Twinkle).
I do enjoy this year Tropical Rouge Precure as the theme of the Series is base on Islands, Oceans and Mermaids. I do like the main characters in the Series are they came a long way from when they started out like Laura who was originally thinking of using the Precure as her pawns just to get approval from the Mermaid Queen in hope to become queen herself, but after getting to know Manatsu, Sango,Minori and Asuka and grew to liked Laura did realise her mistake and regret using them. I alway knew from the begining of the Series that Laura will become a fifth Precure as Cure LeMare to fight along side with her friends against the Witch of Delay and her minons. All the other characters are great but there are of the characters which I didn't like at the beginning which are Masami Kakuta and Yuriko Shiratori. Masami Kakuta - In episode 12 she's obesses and up tight with finding the mermaid and suspect the Tropical Club without proof. Worst of all Masami Kakuta still haven't apology for her cold heartless behaviour towards the Tropical Club which bother me so much and we never learn any background to why she liked that. Yuriko Shiratori- In the beginning of the series she looked to be a cold heartless person with no emotion and being negative towards Manatsu and her friends. I know in episode 31 that we finally learn of Yuriko and Asuka's background story that they were once friends until the insistant cause them to break because of their differences. In episode 42 they did make amends of their friendship but t I was expect more from this episode like if Yuriko could have follow Asuka as she transform into Cure Flamingo to battle a Yaraneeda and Yuriko would stepped in to protected Cure Flamingo while knocked down and then reveal to her that she already knows her identity from the previous episode and apology to Asuka for what has happened in the past. Also apology to Asuka's friends too for being negative towards them during the series and become friends too as a good proper ending to this episodes. It's a shame that the Japanese writers never made a very interesting story for Yuiko in the early episodes like she could have become the sixth Tropical Rouge Precure in the series because it could have change her life and her attitude towards Asuka. If the Witch of Delay had decided to make Yuriko as her pawn in the fight against the Tropical Rouge Precure as a dark Precure while brainwash. Then later they'll discover that Yuriko is the dark Precure and they'll free her from the Witch of Delay's control and Yuriko will final become a sixth member as Cure Swan. But this is just my own opinion and ideas back then so I'm going to have to accept this year series is done. I do like Chongire, Numeri and Elda because they're very different from the past villians as really care for each other. Although I'm not too sure about the Butler because he rarely show any emotional as he's very demanding to collected the human's motive for the Witch of Delay. Plus I always have some suspicious that Butler is the master mind behind the whole thing as shown in episode 44 as the Witch of Delay reuniting with Cure Oasis and disappear after accepting Oasis's offer of friendship, Butler becoming more dangerous threat than the Witch of Delay as he turn himself into a giant Yaraneeda to continue carrying out the Witch's original plan to destroy the world. Luckily Butler was defeated by Tropical Rouge Precure and Chongire, Numeri and Elda did have a redemption in the end because they really care for each other as they learn a lot from the Precure unlike Butler who only care about his own goal. I was hoping that there's going to be a time skipped in this series finale of Tropical Rouge Precure because I wanted to see Manatsu, Sango, Minori, Asuka and Laura as adult in the future. As well as things will change in the Grand Ocean with Laura as the next Mermaid Queen who won't forget her friends this time with the memories eraser banned forever so the mermaids will remember the humans and visit them. But that never have happen in this final episodes of Tropical Rouge Precure however I'm glad there's a happy ending as the memories eraser machine is destroyed and everyone fully regain their memories especially Manatsu, Sango, Minori, Asuka and Laura.
I agreed with pretty much all of your points and there isn't really anything I can add besides: At least the poor fights scenes were excused with the light-hearted gag tone of the overall series and some creativity sprinkled here and there. Compare that to the fights of Mahou-tsukai, Kira Kira and Star twinkle, where you feel like skipping them.... oh boy.
I think the problem with Tropical Rouge is that it was supposed to be a season focused on ocean and makeup, but for some reason they create a club and doing a lot of bunch things that can be boring or just silly. Its not a season I would recommend for merfolk lovers (me included) because we're kind sick of seeing the same story about a mermaid that want to be a human, although I love some refferences here and there with the original TLM's story. Is so ironic how Manatsu got a lot of spotlight but she has 0 development, whereas Sango had only 2 episodes focused on her and has a better development compared to her teammates (I was glad she doesn't want to become a model). Overral it was a 5/10 season, I really love the witch's backstory more than the girl's routines (despite some unexplained subplots here and another plothole there), and Oasis is the best ancestor cure alongside with Flower
When it comes down to this, Tropical Rouge as a whole can be seen as some experiment that Toei trying to do with the Precure franchise, and there are some hits and miss, but overall I would say this series is a somewhat success..... even if the toy sales isn't that great, in fact it is the weakest in the Precure franchise thus far. For a series that is more comedy focus, the comedy is more miss than hit, only a few funny scenes made me chuckle, while the rest just made me say "eh....". Though I do give credit to that Anthology episode, that episode is great. The characters overall is a mixed bag, and I really wanted to question whoever it is that decided to have Laura getting most of the development, while sacrificing the others, why do you think this is a good idea? If they really want to stick with that idea, then they really should just balance it out, never go to the extreme. The story have some pacing issues, with a lot of fillers that didn't contribute much to the overall plot and characters, and some of them are pretty bad too. The villains in this series, I actually enjoy them very much, despite most of them are pretty lazy, but then again, it does fit with their overall motif. I do like how the generals in this series are all feel like a family, and they never tried to betray each other like the villains in previous series. There is also a lot of potential to flesh out the Witch's back story, and I agree that this series could use Kamen Rider Kiva's formula, which would have made the story a lot more interesting. But I guess this is a kids show for girls, so they can't go that direction either huh. The fight scene in this series is.... not that good either. Most of them are over pretty fast, with the usual spamming finishers. And speaking of finishers, I do agree that their solo finishers looks A LOT better than their group finishers, and I wish their solo finishers have a sort of upgrade, so that they won't come to waste. The music in this series is also very good, I feel like starting from Healin' Good, the music in the Precure series has really becoming a lot better than previous series overall. It's not just one or 2 songs I like, but a lot of the soundtrack. So for Tropical Rouge, it isn't the best I watched, and I wouldn't say it is the worst either. It is pretty entertaining overall, and I do enjoy the series with some of the humor (thank you Minori!!!) and some of the story points. I am not sure how much of the series was effected by the pandemic, but the finished product is still okay. EDIT: P.S. Thanks for this overall series review, and it also sucks that Delicious Party has to go another hiatus due to the hacking incident, and the story might get shortened and effected, AGAIN! But on the bright side, you deserve this break, and yeah, you can now focus on the other stuff like the Yu-Gi-Oh series review, or your cooking videos, which I am very interested too.
Yeah, I really think Toei should just make a duo season already. It’s clear that some writers only wanted to focus on one or two Cures, rather than be over saturated with a whole bunch of them since Star Twinkle.
Tropical Rouge Precure: It’s complicated ^^; Is it the worst season ever? Absolutely not. Is it the most disappointing? Eeeeeeh…sorta. If you ask me, they kinda have similar issues to STP, but I’ll give this one a credit - at least they tried to make it cohesive, none of the main casts are downright terrible (minus the Witch and Butler) and at least they have some really good handful of episodes, even if it failed in the end in terms of main story regarding the ocean plot (and Aunette/Oasis), as well as the purpose of make up overall
(part 2) The Heroes: Fairy - Kururun: exist. Next ^^; The backup trio: Asuka/Flamingo: I agree. Among the 3 girls, her arc is the best one…when involving Yuriko. Anything outside of her, like with her father, meh. Idk with her but they could’ve balanced it out in getting to know a bit of her family life besides the whole tennis thing. As is, I’ll take it as that. At least it helps that after bonding with the Tropical girls, she gradually gets to be more open minded, in spite of her hotheaded tendencies. Good for you. Bring on the fiery kicks ^v^~ Minori/Papaya - the middle ground of the trio and i agree being the 2nd best. I just wished we get to know more about her redoing her own story after everything she experienced with her friends behind the scenes, not do all of that by the near end. Granted, she does get to be more open in doing that’s out of the norm for her, in her own ways. Like with Asuka, I consider her pretty decent, continue on shooting some lasers on your eyes ^v^ b Sango/Coral: aka Saaya/Ange 2.0. Why? Just WHY on this sweet and innocent and cute young girl such as her get the short end of the stick??? What’s the deal writers? Couldn’t think of what to do with her? COME ON! She’s RIGHT THERE!! She has potential! You just didn’t know how to work properly! No wonder her “arc” faltered, for lack there off. And don’t get me started on her “x shields”. At least Ange can able to hold off a little longer. Why nerfed her to THAT degree? COME ON! =A= The MCs: Manatsu and Laura/Summer and La Mer - I would consider them the other version of Hikaru and Lala but unlike that pair where the latter succeeded in everything while the other suffers immensely, Manatsu and Laura? Ummm…i would say both sides coexist at both succeeding and failing their story at the same time. Even if the latter have more focus than the former, still doesn’t change the fact that the very late reveal of that dark twist, the memory chamber, just clashed these 2 really hard, that by the end of it all, it felt like its not worth it. Which sucks cause i like both of them equally. I just wish the writers just lay off with the whole favoritism and just make the whole story work like that please. No rushing on it…that’s just lazy writing =^= Bonus: *Aunette/Oasis - the legendary Precure of the past…she could’ve been used better. Her past is sweet and tragic, though i wish they could’ve shown us more of her “bond” of the Witch besides that one scene, just saying…
Topical Rouge was a fun series for the heroine are great to see flawed aside this was good watch for me when you don’t think about it much so never stop trying new things Precure I’ll be there to see more interesting concepts
6/10 is good rating. That slightly above average rating. I think I liked it more the Smile Precure though only because I felt more connected to the lightheartedness of the show, needing it after these past 2 years. Hopefully Delicious Party hiatus is not too long. So far it hasn't been wow factor, but it also feels like they are trying different things in the current season too.
You know, the show's reluctance to tackle darker themes baffles me when I see that other works aimed at kids I know and love are perfectly willing to tackle some even darker stuff. Take Kirby, for example. Some of the latest games have gone as follows: Triple Deluxe: Loyal servant to a queen gifts her with a magic mirror. But that mirror was cursed by a previous villain who was motivated by revenge after his boss was presumed to be murdered for good. The queen became vain and obsessed with perfection, to the point where she was perfectly willing to SUCK THE LIFE OF A WHOLE PLANET for the sake of her perfect beauty. Yet said servant continued to obey her. Until one tragic mistake (he was supposed to capture the Hero of Dreamland, but thought that Dedede was that Hero) displeased the queen so much she TRIED TO MURDER HIM!!! And after the events of the game, the queen is now nothing but a flower, and it's not even sure if she's still alive at this point. And it's implied that he had FEELINGS for her, making his whole story even more tragic. Planet Robobot (not a typo): The president of a up and coming company finds a powerful machine, but one accident ends up with his daughter presumed dead. So the president begins to focus on his work while working on that machine to bring his daughter back. Unfortunately, using the machine has nasty effects on his mind and he starts to forget that he EVER had a daughter. As a result, when his daughter finally returns, he _doesn't even _*_RECOGNIZE_*_ her!_ He doesn't even remember that he *HAD* a daughter in the first place. So she grows resentful of him and ultimately turns on him in retaliation (he was also rather rude and cold to her, which didn't help matters). But that retaliation causes the powerful machine to activate and try to delete *_ALL LIFEFORMS IN EXISTENCE_* and so she helps Kirby stop it. And the president? His mind and soul are *_DELETED PERMANENTLY!!!_* Making things worse is that, in his final moments, he finally remembered why he did all of that and laments that he should've known that it never would've worked. Star Allies: Of the two main bosses, two were found when they were about to die, and one was found as she was about to _COMMIT _*_SUICIDE!!!_* Their leader had once helped taking down a dangerous threat (that may or may not be the final boss), but was betrayed and banished in return, driving him mad and seeking revenge. In his quest for vengeance, he cast away all his past kindness and replaced it with spine and insanity. By the time Kirby reaches him, he's a rambling maniac willing to use his OWN GENERAL AS WEAPONS who, after being defeated, sacrifices his generals and then himself to unleash the final boss onto the world. Though that game at least has a happy ending for everyone involved, unlike the previous two games that always end with the leader pretty much gone and the second being forced to pick up the pieces. In Star Allies, meanwhile, Kirby manages to free the Mages and their leader of their corruption and cleanse their minds so that they can have a shot at a better life. And with the next game taking place in what seems like a post-apocalyptic Earth, it seems that the darkness isn't going away anytime soon.
A bit late but I got some stuff to say about this season. Other than the stuff mentioned in the video or what others said, my biggest gripe with the season is just the build up. It had good elements but the build up to them was kind of lack luster. I heard from interviews that the writers made the season go to that direction because the show would be dark if the characters knew about the Witch or the villain's motives more. You know the message about doing something important at the moment, that's their reason and mentioned how Manatsu would be serious if they kept the plot going. But to me, it backfired since that lead to a lot of things not developed or had little time to do so. And it really shows near the end. Not helping with Laura being the most developed character but I do agree that it was too early and the leaks did not help. To me, Laura's appeal was that she was not a good person at the start. Precure to me is a world that has unrealistic kind characters. I'm not asking for something grim or cynical but I felt that Precure is another extreme. Laura was just so refreshing and to have her be nicer so early kind of made her not as funny or appealing as the earlier episodes. I will give Tropical Rouge this, unlike the seasons that I hated in Precure, this season was at least fun and I had characters I like. It just had bad planning and build up. I argue that I enjoyed it more than Healin Good, but Healin Good is a better season objectively. Mostly because I was not that bored of Tropical Rouge compared to Healin Good. On the side note, I see that you bashed on RWBY on the side and thank you! Your thoughts on it is how I felt about the direction of the series so far where it tries so hard to be deep but ended up as pretentious. Precure did have it's moments but at least it did not go that far.
I think it would have been cool if Laura had destroyed the lotus eater machine herself, perhaps after an arc of getting over her admiration for the queen
18:46 comedy is a tough job sometimes land it mostly of the time you fail while others are when I questioning there sense of comedy methods(the misunderstanding pervert joke is a big example of that)
I already voiced my issues with the main cast and how none of them really held up the theme of losing motivation for any number of reasons in a comment on one of your earlier videos, but as far as villains and monsters of the week, pretty much every Precure season is just 3 generals doing all the dirty work while the right-hand man or the big boss directly just constantly berates them for failure and giving them "one more chance". There's rarely if ever any significance to what they make the Monster of the Week out of or which villain made what monster with what strategy, and the logic behind when both the heroes and the villains get upgrades is rarely satisfying. They almost always feel under-developed. And way too many of them are motived by "because evil". With villains, you can either give them depth by having a real motivation and character, or you can make them personifications of different facets of a concept, but Precure often tries to do both when you kind of have to be either or. And their weapons are always way too toyetic. That would be fine if they were good-looking toys, but they usually look cheap and the craftsmanship on the versions you can buy usually are- despite how much they actually cost.
Also, this franchise has a major recurring issue of backloading a majority of the plot. If the magical world of the fairies/villains has any substance, or the villains' actions have real motive and/or backstory behind them, really all the things that need to be explained to make the previously vague underdeveloped stuff make sense and have substance- always cram it into the last few episodes. If it happened only here or there, maybe the result of a newcomer director/editor/showrunner not quite having pacing throughout a season down yet, that's understandable/excusable, theoretically learn their lesson and know to start fleshing stuff out sooner- except it happens routinely as if they never learn their lesson. Season after season they keep seemingly getting surprised by how few episodes they have left of the season and realize how little they actually established anything, and thus cram it all in at the last minute. And considering they change creative staff almost every season, maybe they legit don't ever learn, no one sticks around long enough to actually get good at pacing. P.S. Maybe the remote memory and evidence erasure thing wasn't a feature of the machine in the past, what if that was an upgrade only added later? Technology improves over time after all, that would explain why there were legends and the elder's memory but it was cracked down on harder in the present. But if that is the case, then why was it thusly upgraded? What need in the kingdom arose since the past to necessitate such a new feature? Or was it always a need they just couldn't do anything about until recently and had to begrudgingly tolerate it before? What made them think it was still a pressing issue though? As far as we can tell, mermaids have only made contact with humans a handful of times throughout human history... and yet there was that whole room filled with memories taken by the machine...
Tropical Rouge had some bumps on the roads like dropped plot points, Sango having the least character development, and I can merit with Laura being too much of the focus. Even from watching, I thought that Laura already had enough character development already and they should give more development to the other main characters. A little to Asuka and Minori because their stories are solid and relatable, more to Manatsu, and especially Sango, but at the end of the day, Tropical Rouge was alright with some things I enjoy like Asuka's story because as Asuka's my favorite character in the show, I really adore her story and the moments with her rekindling her bond with Yuriko. I also Minori's story because I can relate with her as I'm a storyteller, I tend to improve in my craft to make sure that it's right. Even from behind-the-scenes is amazing with a solid voice cast, spicing up the fights like from episode 29, and bringing in the screenwriter of Code Geass and Black Butler and the animation directors of Yu-gi-oh was really interesting. Overall, Tropical Rouge has its downsides, but it was enjoyable to the very end and it was fun while it lasted.
39:16-41:25 they should of been with a newer antagonist aka the Great emperor of dark knock-off being that it could also made the queen of destruction from that mermaid who was sad of not seeing the human they befriended being the reason why the memory wiper was created(yeah I got some idea)
26:25-32:20 if you think the queen of destructions MOTW at the end and this figure would make good new serious villains once the the Queen delay(Destruction)was defeated leading to the to queen come in to question to what she’s been doing and she was responsible for that evil to be unearthed makes Laura last faith in the queen temporary give us the declaration that she’ll be a queen of her own standing and want to reconnect the mermaid and humans together and fight the that new evil with a bigger resolve again the malice of despair(I am calling the evil figure here)but it just something I wished they at least do something like this
2:45 I know right? That season of RWBY was a hot mess. Seriously, baiting your audience into thinking you'll watch a certain plot point, then have that plot point NEVER HAPPEN in favor of a TON of ridiculous WTF stuff, is NEVER gonna sit well with people. It's a dark lesson that if you don't deliver what you promise to your audience, said audience is going to be REALLY mad about it
25:21-25:35-28:02 it was good buuuuuut they want to keep Queeny as the good as a mentor character so they didn’t do anything too much around her when she is doing something horrible
To be honest, I don't agree with all you said and did not have as high expectations as you who is more familiar with writers and even fan of their other work (while for me they are anonymous figures), but overall... While I was very frustrated with the ending and how messy it was... when emotions died and my friend is casually watching the series and share her comments (she is on episode 24 now) so I kind of re-live the season and all the good things like most of comedy, characters and their interactions and creative, colorful art style. Ending was still bad and Witch story, while tragic and good idea is here, was not very logical? What she really wanted, why she was acting this way etc. They could be more clear with grief/acceptance situation OR it was very logical to make her mermaid who saw how her humans friend died while she was still alive (maybe make her ex-mentor to the Queen?). I personally think memory machine plot is very interesting per se, but other than being not really adressed, I just think should not be introduced at all in this more lighthearted series? Leave it for another Precure season. And, it's very subjective/personal, I'm at this point of my life not a fan of generational divide plots and being super critical of your ancestors etc, that you mentioned. I'm just not in mood for them. While I agree that some more authorities iin Precure should be called out (Star Twinkle...), maybe just don't make them unintentionally "problematic". Teatine from Healin Good was just a good ally. The series was more episodic in nature so I just hoped that main plot will be just something simple and because of simplicity realized well. For the characters, I really liked all of them, while also disappointed that Laura becoming Precure/human/gaining legs had no consequences. I think Manatsu was good as "motivation" of the team, Asuka and Minori had very good storylines (I especially liked Minori and her writing problems, as an artist I really can relate). and there was Sango. I really wanted to like her, partially because I felt bad how her episodes felt the weakest or ends up focusing on Laura... and I do. But I have problems with her arc. I really liked the IDEA of her conclusion episode .Some people are helpers, not standing out, but suppor to others. And they can feel they are bland and uninteresting this way. But people who prefer helping others shine are also very valueable and important. Again, as an artist (and Sango is makeup artist, too) who is sometimes feeling that I'm too "boring" to be one, I relate to that. I think message that it's ok to be "basic" or "boring" if this is true to yourself is ok! BUT other than final episode, Sango's arc never felt like it was going to this conclusion. She wanted to be more brave and overcoming shyness, but it never really felt like she was forcing herself to "stand out" more and felt uncomfortable. It's like writers couldn't decide they want Sango to learn to be less of a "conformist" or that she is forcing herself to stand out more because of fear of being seen as too conformist/basic/boring.I think maybe merging Sango and Minori into one character somehow would be better, as both have artistic struggles? I liked about the villains (i mean, main three active ones) that they were basically work buddies and house staff of the witch, clearly not really true bad guys. There could me a lot more done with them, but they were ok. Butler and The Witch are dissapointing. For Cure Oasis/Aunette - i liked that she was probably from Europe? I think it would be neat that she was Danish, as a little wink to The Little Mermaid author origins. Overall it's a season that really frustrates you with being one with little of overarching plot and can't do this little of plot well. But when you look at it later, it is great light fun with charismatic cast and most of episodes were good in making me smile and relax once a week and now my friend is feeling in similar way. I also really like artistic direction, especially character design and how colorful and stylized background were (using deep, strong blue in shading makes them have this rainbow, tropical feeling).
As this video continues, I keep switching from which yuri pair I like more, Manatsu x Laura? Or Asuka x Yuriko? And I think ultimately this is what I like the most from the season, the depth that each characters and their relationship get (except for Sango, poor Sango). If I have to say what the deeper theme this season has, I will say "connection". This season has an actual team dynamic, where everyone has a role and they are utilized every episode. Manatsu always the one that pull everyone along, Laura the one that make everyone facepalm together, Sango is the one with meme face, Minorin gives dry humor, and Asuka always the one that get teased. And in battle, you perfectly shows what each characters role are. This in contrast to other "team" season, like say Kirakira, where the team feels more like acquaintance in office where they working toward the same goal, but each just doing their own thing and only useful in their focus episode. Everything in the story ultimately comes from this basic idea, whether it is the tragic connection of the Witch and Cure Oasis, the connection severing of Mermaid's brainwash, to the villains' family-like connection, and ultimately of course, the romantic connection of Asuka x Yuriko and Manatsu x Laura. And I will say that for the most part, I like this season. But ultimately the obvious lack of budget and lack of time (I still stand with my comment that the TWO recap, on top Olympic hiatus, screw this season a lot), ultimately become its undoing. But, I will say that aside from the last arc, this season has consistently make me happy when I watched it (except for that Murayama's quizz episode). If there is a weakness I think you miss, is that I think Sango originally is supposed to be the straightman for both Manatsu and Laura. You can still see some left over for that. Sango's dream to be more assertive is something that can be developed through her become tsukomi to Manatsu's and Laura's crazy antic (makes her tsukomi more powerful as the season go), her episodes always involve Manatsu or Laura in some form, and her final character focus episode is about her making pinky promise with Manatsu. But I don't know what happened, but Manatsu x Laura become too strong to have Sango as thirdwheel, and thus Sango left behind. Thus her lack of character development I think is because they lack direction on what to do with Sango after the triangle relationship is broken. In the end though, as a yuri fan, what break or make a season is how good the yuri is. And BOY does this season deliver with not one, not two, but three yuri pair! (Although the Witch x Cure Oasis pair is a let down). Asuka x Yuriko is a great highlight of this season, consist of enough comedy, tragedy, and ultimately pay-off that I honestly think will be what I remember the most from this season. THEY ARE SO GOOD! Manatsu x Laura on the other hand is a very powerful couple who always be there for each other without become a burden for the other (Manatsu and Laura has enough shared of saving each other, so none of them are really a damsel, in the way Mana always save her harem), and I LOVE IT. So as closing thought, I like this season, a lot. But its weak final arc make me hesistant to recommend for new viewers (I can recommend this season for veterans, at least to complete Precure experience). Hopefully future season can learn from this season mistake, keep its strength, and make a better products (while still have the strong yuri vibe). See you in the future!
16:59 because season don’t have negative consequences they set them up and never go through with it because they positive with there lessons unlike there senpais choices in these situations
It's not a season I can say was good or even the best one despite certain episodes standing out since aside from creators intention, as a reviewer you are obligated to judge the product overall and whatever reason turns out to be true as to why things turned out the way they did for this season I think it's pretty clear that toei needs to get its priorities straight and the other thing is while yeah innovation and experiment with new ideas and stuff can be good to leading into something good, it is important to keep in mind that the story and characters still need to be handled effectively since even if you can give partial credit for trying something new you can't really say it's all good since it's otherwise hard for them to realize where to improve. While I'm no fan of code gaess mostly because I think the persona series does a better job at calling out the issues in japanese society and code gaess always felt more like someone writing what he thinks is an 8th grader would be a war story. Now I don't think tropical needed to be anything deep or serious since they could've just done the carranger route only hopefully not end up as being the but of the franchise's jokes since I while I didnt see carranger I think power rangers turbo in the edited clips segment give an idea into why carranger is hardly ever mentioned or often treated as the butt of sentai jokes. I think one if the big mistakes was hiring the guy who as you've shown does these big dark twists in story telling in something that had a different tone not to say it couldn't work since smile certainly pulled it off but I think there needed to be not only a better balance and pacing but the one thing that always seems to actively hurt these things when you can tell the writers weren't all on the same page. Regardless of any toei meddling I think they definitely need a better way for the writers, editors, and who ever else helps plan the episodes sit together to get the general idea of where a story is going to go and how to time the important ones that add development or world building. But that's just me saying something where I never worked with a studio to know what goes on in a writers room since whenever you mention the writers it often seems like most of the time they don't really keep tabs on each other to know where will they be adding something to the story.
This certainly wasn’t the worst season of the series, far from it, but it became an unfortunate victim of wasted potential. I’d probably rank it as a high-low to low-mid tier season. 6.5/10
I really had problems with this season the pasting made me loose interest in watching it lauras story was the greates, and minoris story is good the only characters i really didnt like were manatsu and azuka, for not having enought character development and growing like characters for me the villains were the most dissapointing part for me, they were just there, with no real motivation and generacally evil, and they turned good for no reason And about the final, i just dont like it, they just forced the plot of the memory machine for making drama and try to force a happy ending I also hate how at one point they just osed laura a lot as she was the only character with real development but the rest for me it was good, the animation, songs, designs, humor. all tho they did over use the humor wich sometimes ruined the dramatic moments, and started to be boring at some point at the end i dont like this season, its boring for me, and frustrating how it could be amazing but the writers decided to not do it
For me, watching Tropical Rouge Precure was like Likrara's summary of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. Great main characters, with equally great character development, but it was the villains that brought the show down a few notches. Seriously, aside from the little kid, the villains just SUCK.
I like to tell some Bad news -Cartoon Network India 🇮🇳 (my country) is gonna air Powerpuff girls Z episodes in Hindi dubbed in 19 march on television , but since nobody Watch TV These days except my parents.. but I'm excited to see them on TV (I'll use live TV app to watch them on my phone)- It has been cancelled 😢😭😭😭 Instead they are airing Powerpuff 2016 Reboot
55:27 yeah and it not the first time a Blue beat out a red type team in sentai or magical girl series yeah She literally stole the show in the wrong way
Tropical Rouge was just a season I couldn’t get myself to love like everyone else. I just don’t get the excitement over it. The characters feel bland. The story is a huge meh. So many filler episodes. Also most of the fights are very boring. The only character that I enjoyed is Laura for having a well rounded personality. She is now one of my favorite cures of all time. But she wasn’t enough to carry the show on her own. This was one of the most boring seasons that I can’t look back fondly saying it’s one of my favorites years from now.
XD
The first reason is the characters.
@@Addition2 Yep, they definitely deserve props for pulling that episode off.
⁰
Sango is actually my favorite cure of the season In my opinion I think she has really good development but I can understand what you mean that she didn't get much focus episodes overall a pretty good season of pretty cure
Minori is slept on as well
And also, my favorite cure here is Asuka
It seems that the Reiwa era of Precure tends to have the worst luck so far. Hopefully the 20th anniversary can fix these problems.
Yeah, with Covid and the hacking situation, this decade has been not been going well.
Make a Reiwa All Stars Movie to make up for the lack of a Crossover.
@@conradojavier7547 I agree, They SERIOUSLY need to do one since it looks like We where Starved of one last year and NOW this year as well thanks to Toei's Bullshit of announcing the Delicious Party PreCure Movie in September.
@@joe95883 & Reiwa All Star's Antagonist is a Amalgam of The Ophiuchus Princess, King Byogen, Butler, & Delicious Party's Big Bad.
@@conradojavier7547 What you saying, that Toei have no FRIGGING clue of what the next All Stars movie is about?
You did a really excellent job on pointing out all the goodness there was in this season, which makes it all the more disappointing that that goodness wasn't used to its full potential. Those first ten or so episodes got me really excited and invested, but as time went on, it just went increasingly downhill will stalled plotlines and little to no character development. I really hope the writers learn from their mistakes and make the next season better.
Well, Delicious Party seems to be taking their time with the characters so far. (Poor Ran!)
@nintendolife25 Hopefully they don’t make the same mistakes Tropical Rouge made. Delicious Party is on the right track so far, but I’m still kind of worried how the story will turn out.
@@JupiterHeart Me too. Especially with the hacking incident, which would affect the story due to the hiatus.
@neptuniafan If some episodes will be cut, I hope they cut the most useless episodes and not any import plot-focused episode. Only time will tell.
@@JupiterHeart Well, we only got a few episodes in. The only negative I can think of is Ms. “O Rly?” Narrator.
Not a good idea to do that, Toei.)
I hope the character designer for GoPri and Tropri does another season though; with a more serious tone in the story (ofc, this is done by the director of season in charge) just like GoPri, but mix it with little comedy effect from Tropri when the time calls for it.
With problems I personally enjoyed it though yeah they did Sango dirty.
There is one thing that has been on my mind regarding not only Laura but Lala from star twinkle. I feel both of them could have worked on a diferent show not related to precure and be able to carry it with them as the lead from the start.
Impression: Tropical-Rouge problems are; Primary story, Kururun just exists, Lots of filler episode, The comedy is bland, The villains are boring, The Motivation is just there... it's too simple, The Make-up gimmick didn't do much, and lastly Incomplete development for the Cures
How to fix: Tropical-Rouge can be fix by writing as long as the story is connected to the plot.
10 Ways to fix Tropical-Rouge
1. Make the Motivation as a source of energy to the stuff that people enjoy the most during their activities while the Make-up gimmick will serve as a main source of power for the Cures
2. Reference the Comedy format from Carranger - at least some of the joke has more impact and didn't overboard with it
3. Use Kururun on the battlefield while supporting the Cures. It can use Hybrid Water-Ice type move (Sealeo anyone?)
4. Improve the Villain's personality
5. The way of creating a Yaraneeda will possess the victim's (of the week) object that they use the most during their activity example like; Numeri possess her own Stethoscope
6. Moderate the Tropical Club activities
7. Serve the Mermaid Queen as a mentor role to the cures
8. Expand the Cure's Development
9. Fix the episode
a. Get rid the filler episode
b. Reference the Marine World concept from Mermaid Melody and use as a world building plot
c. Episode 24 is part 1 Origin of Witch of Delay and Cure Oasis
d. Explain more about the Law of Grand Ocean and don't forget the Decommissioning Chamber/Memory Erase Machine plot
e. Mermaid Queen's origin
f. 2 parts team-up episode with their predecessor team; part 1 for Star Twinkle and part 2 for Healin' Good - Seems that Tropical Rouge didn't have a crossover movie with 2 previous teams like Miracle Leap did, let's give them a special offer
g. Episode 41 will be the last part Origin of Witch of Delay and Cure Oasis
h. 3 parts climax episode with the Witch alongside Butler
i. Laura's memory will be decommission after the final battle then restore memory process in the next episode during the second half
10. The attack move for Marine Beat Dynamic is Aqua Tail instead of a kick while the Super Tropical Paradise will be the appearance of a Cannon (as we've seen in imagination theory sequence of Laura in Episode 7) when Land and Marine Heart Kuru Ring are combine while their outfit is in super form based from Cure Oasis's outfit
Overall: Tropical-Rouge is not exactly a bad show by any means it's just a Not-so Tropical, Lackluster, Wasted Opportunity, and Unmotivated season.
& Kururun should have been a McGuffin Ring the whole time.
Compare that to the fights of Mahou-tsukai, Kira Kira and Star twinkle, where you feel like skipping them.... oh boy.
The fights in Star Twinkle feel more like a slideshow, if anything.
EDIT:
Having Seahorse Man as The Big Bad seems like a Studio Rewrite.
Tropical Rouge Precure: It’s complicated ^^;
Is it the worst season ever? Absolutely not. Is it the most disappointing? Eeeeeeh…sorta. If you ask me, they kinda have similar issues to STP, but I’ll give this one a credit - at least they tried to make it cohesive, none of the main casts are downright terrible (minus the Witch and Butler) and at least they have some really good handful of episodes, even if it failed in the end in terms of main story regarding the ocean plot (and Aunette/Oasis), as well as the purpose of make up overall
(part 2) The Heroes:
Fairy - Kururun: exist. Next ^^;
The backup trio:
Asuka/Flamingo: I agree. Bring on the fiery kicks ^v^~
Minori/Papaya - the middle ground of the trio and i agree being the 2nd best. I just wished we get to know more about her redoing her own story after everything she experienced with her friends behind the scenes, not do all of that by the near end. Granted, she does get to be more open in doing that’s out of the norm for her, in her own ways. Like with Asuka, I consider her pretty decent, continue on shooting some lasers on your eyes ^v^ b
Sango/Coral: aka Saaya/Ange 2.0. COME ON! =A=
The MCs:
Manatsu and Laura/Summer and La Mer - I would consider them the other version of Hikaru and Lala but unlike that pair where the latter succeeded in everything while the other suffers immensely, Manatsu and Laura? Ummm…i would say both sides coexist at both succeeding and failing their story at the same time. Even if the latter have more focus than the former, still doesn’t change the fact that the very late reveal of that dark twist, the memory chamber, just clashed these 2 really hard, that by the end of it all, it felt like its not worth it. Which sucks cause i like both of them equally. I just wish the writers just lay off with the whole favoritism and just make the whole story work like that please. No rushing on it…that’s just lazy writing =^=
Bonus:
*Aunette/Oasis - the legendary Precure of the past…she could’ve been used better. Her past is sweet and tragic, though i wish they could’ve shown us more of her “bond” of the Witch besides that one scene, just saying…
@@curepanda2646 Man, poor Sango. Of all the girls that gets the short end of the stick, it has to be my favorite one.
@@nintendolife25 you and me both…she’s like Saaya/Ange but worse
Some of the latest games have gone as follows:
Triple Deluxe: Loyal servant to a queen gifts her with a magic mirror.
When Siren became Suite's Mid-Season Cure she lost the Ability to turned into a Cat, & is stuck in Human form.......FOREEEEEEEEVER!
19:46 oh VIVAAAAAA!!!!!(the foreshadowing here)
48:19 one reason why Asuka is my favorite cure this season(love this kinds of tomboy magical girls)
39:16-41:25 they should of been with a newer antagonist aka the Great emperor of dark knock-off being that it could also made the queen of destruction from that mermaid who was sad of not seeing the human they befriended being the reason why the memory wiper was created(yeah I got some idea)
8:30 if anything she could be make a good Candy replacement(from Smile Precure if you don’t remember)
I see W.O.D. as a Bait & Switch Antagonist.
57:50 remember Toei don’t prioritize you Blues or just one character in a *GROUP* series too much
26:25-32:20 if you think the queen of destructions MOTW at the end and this figure would make good new serious villains once the the Queen delay(Destruction)was defeated leading to the to queen come in to question to what she’s been doing and she was responsible for that evil to be unearthed makes Laura last faith in the queen temporary give us the declaration that she’ll be a queen of her own standing and want to reconnect the mermaid and humans together and fight the that new evil with a bigger resolve again the malice of despair(I am calling the evil figure here)but it just something I wished they at least do something like this
37:10 lol this will never stop being funny and weird
It's my favorite of the new coming Pretty Cures just now
And of course it's so much better than Delicious Party Pretty Cure!
47:59 my thought exactly
Tbf, it's just like the Star Princesses. Being the person to maintain the order is never easy and you can't make everyone happy.
50:07 Poor sweet Songo😞
Eh, sorry for all the grammar mistakes, English is not my first language, I will try to fix this comment when I would have a bit of time.
25:48 nothing!!!
48:40-49:53 she my other favorite have a soft spot for Kuudere Waifu
38:50 the Yarane-das suck!
What is the original name of Power Ranger( since this is the American dub) is it Go Ranger?
40:46 hahahahahaha sorry I had to laugh
Cool
Asuka reminds me of Tomoe from Bang Dream
Sorry about your computer Azen Zone
Zenkaiger is also the successful experiment too
I really had problems with this season
the pasting made me loose interest in watching it
lauras story was the greates, and minoris story is good
the only characters i really didnt like were manatsu and azuka, for not having enought character development and growing like characters for me
the villains were the most dissapointing part for me, they were just there, with no real motivation and generacally evil, and they turned good for no reason
And about the final, i just dont like it, they just forced the plot of the memory machine for making drama and try to force a happy ending
I also hate how at one point they just osed laura a lot as she was the only character with real development
but the rest for me it was good, the animation, songs, designs, humor.
all tho they did over use the humor wich sometimes ruined the dramatic moments, and started to be boring at some point
at the end i dont like this season, its boring for me, and frustrating how it could be amazing but the writers decided to not do it
Maybe throw in a review of Disgaea 6.
43:40 I wished they’d became friends
i wonder if you can reupload allstars Stage 2?
I still waiting for that too
I really liked this season
I mean it’s better than Delicious Party and is far more superior
Decentish series until the final few episodes which crashed and burned.
7/10
For me, watching Tropical Rouge Precure was like Likrara's summary of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. Great main characters, with equally great character development, but it was the villains that brought the show down a few notches. Seriously, aside from the little kid, the villains just SUCK.
I like to tell some Bad news
-Cartoon Network India 🇮🇳 (my country) is gonna air Powerpuff girls Z episodes in Hindi dubbed in 19 march on television , but since nobody Watch TV These days except my parents.. but I'm excited to see them on TV (I'll use live TV app to watch them on my phone)-
It has been cancelled 😢😭😭😭
Instead they are airing Powerpuff 2016 Reboot
5:10 But they got hit by the Yarane-da and there no Precure in real life
Ah, yes
Zenkaiger done wrong
54:08 yeah for me too
Now Tropical Rouge Pretty Cure was so boring in my opinion!!
30:10 With Guts and Deus Ex Machinas
11:15 easy it just there to look cute that’s what I think
1:00:26 it’s no contest
Is it too much to ask for a RWBY review after hearing the slight jabs he made at it?
55:27 yeah and it not the first time a Blue beat out a red type team in sentai or magical girl series yeah She literally stole the show in the wrong way
23:06 Hehe
Tropical Rouge was just a season I couldn’t get myself to love like everyone else. I just don’t get the excitement over it. The characters feel bland. The story is a huge meh. So many filler episodes. Also most of the fights are very boring. The only character that I enjoyed is Laura for having a well rounded personality. She is now one of my favorite cures of all time. But she wasn’t enough to carry the show on her own. This was one of the most boring seasons that I can’t look back fondly saying it’s one of my favorites years from now.
i would say this isnt the worst season
but it would be the worst season from the good seasons or the decent ones
57:03 yeah still salty about that one
