You're welcome! I've certainly spent a number of holidays working away as others had fun. But what needs to get done needs to get done. I hope your studying is going well, and the actuarial exam goes swimmingly!
fuck that, 1 semester we had this woman "teaching" us probability and shit, she herself had no idea what she was talking about, this guy is a fucking legend
fucking tell me about it man. My professor tried to do this the whole of Hypergeomtric including 4 other variations of it in a single lecture, which he tried going through 200 slides worth. What an absolute piss take, they make it purposefully confusing so they can try make us buy their shitty textbooks they write to help with the course
Ugh same here... Especially with the online teaching that's been implemented for a while now, it totally sucks. Thank goodness i found this video, i got to fully grasp what my professor's been tryna teach us for like several sessions.
Hey bro, you helped me more in nine minutes, than one of my teachers in like an entire hour. You are really good in what you do. Greetings from Uruguay.
I'm glad you found my video helpful! I'm very happy at the University of Guelph right now, so I probably won't be coming down to Wayne State. I'm sure your instructor knows what they are doing. Different students see things in different ways, so some students prefer my approach. I'm sure some of my own students post similar comments on other channels from time to time! Cheers.
I find most profs have no idea how to explain what each formula is trying to represent. I was trying forever to figure out what hypergeometric formula was trying to say. I honestly thank you for creating these videos.
ok dude you have no idea but this video makes everything so clear. I was not able to attend the period when they taught this and they didn't give a textbook chapter. All other videos did not explain the reasoning behind the formula but yours completely cracks it down in the first 2 mins. I just completely got it when you said it is the number of getting four doctors and one nurse over the number of picking 5 people.
I'm glad to help. You might want to split up your study sessions a bit -- if you watch my videos for several days straight, your retention might not be very good :)
Thank you for this! The first two minutes of the video really helped out. Edit: Okay so now I finished watching the whole video and god damn I have never been so enticed in wanting to watch homework material. I would get bored half way through and wanna try to just memorize what I need. Thanks a bunch!!!
that was splendid! thank you so much! i really like the way you're explaining! what kind of software did you use? and please, do not use the equal sign if you just give rounded values. ;)
How differentiation in teaching do we have among Afghanistan's universities and outside, hope to have teachers like you in Afghanistan!!! 9 minutes of watching is equall to 2 hours of in-person class lecture 🥸
Now, this is the definition of an AMAZING video thank you so much... My teacher makes it so complex.. I was feeling like I am solving GMAT problems.. now it is like addition for me.. So, Thank you sir..
19 choose 1, is how many ways can you choose one element out of 19. That is 19 different ways: you could pick the first item and not 2-19, you could pick the 2nd, and not 1, nor 3-19, etc. To get 15, what he does is 6!/((4!)*(6-4)!) which is 6*5*4*3*2*1 / (4*3*2*1 * 2*1), and this is 15 indeed. This might help a lot: www.mathsisfun.com/combinatorics/combinations-permutations.html Hope it helps
@@aventurasenlauni7772 I logged in just to thank you. I am doing a take home test due at midnight tonight and for the life of me I couldn't even understand the video. But they way you wrote it enlighten me. Thanks.
This and the binomial distribution videos have only become more and more useful as different types of games have penetrated society, particularly newer board games and mobile gacha games.
please can you make a video explaining the differences between the binominal and hypergometric distribution, the poisson and the exp distribution. thanks

“Hyper” geometric. The pace of the video is fitting indeed 😆.
I just understood from a 9 mins videos what my professor tried to teach me in 2 weeks.
Thank you so much!

How do you get the final numerator and denominators, how do you get 15 from the numbers 6 and 4?
When you are so running out of time, you fasten the fast version XD
Hey bro, you helped me more in nine minutes, than one of my teachers in like an entire hour. You are really good in what you do. Greetings from Uruguay.
You're welcome. I'm glad you found it helpful.
Love your voice, first time in math that I can actually pay attention for ten minutes straight
Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad to be of help!

Thanks for your great videos Dr. Balka. Your sense of humour and great explanations is making statistics more interesting and fun!
You are very welcome Yeganeh!
Thanks! I can't promise they'll be epic, but I do promise there will be more.
Sir, you dropped this 👑
You're welcome!
Thank you very much!!your voice makes me concentrate and focus more!
I'm glad I could be of help!
Did i just learn two topics in one video? Thank you very much 🤩

Honestly enjoyed watching the video. This is what learning should be like.
Best videos about this stuff on TH-cam. Great job and Thank you!!!
Amazing explanation. First time I didn't fall asleep listening to a stats lesson. :P
Very clear explanation. You are a talented talker.
kudoz a milion tyms.it has helped beyond my expectation...i lyk the pysche you are having.its pushing the point home smoothly.
Very good explantion! Congratulations!!!!
It's 1 AM and tomorrow is my assignment.. this video covered 4 pages of textbook and 1 hour of my professor lecture. 😊

I am already a fan! Great content, great channel! You got a new subscriber, bro!
this was awesomely simple. thank you
Well, if you're talking about the University of Toronto, there is an advertised position at the Mississauga campus!
Thank you for this! The first two minutes of the video really helped out.

i trust this man at all costs
best hypergeometric video out there
Wow this really goes trough all of the corners in the hypergeometric distribution thanks!
Thanks for putting a lot of effort into this.
Thank you, just the right pace!
God!!, you explain this so well, thanks a lot!
Thank you a lot!
From France 🇫🇷
You just made it look so easy thanks to have you in the world of stats I wish you can be my lecture

You are a marvelous human being.
I'm not sure that conclusion can be drawn just from watching this video, but thanks for the compliment!

wow, phenomenal video. really helped me with my engineering stats final :)
such a clear explanation of concepts
Legit saved me so much time in this 9 minute video , holy cow...
I'm glad to be of help.

amazing lectures series
Thanks mate very much for these splendid videos, keep on the great job.
Some of my videos move along pretty quickly. My newer ones tend to be a little slower.
thanks i never learned it this way. We were just trained to pick out the equation. never thought of it logically like this
I have a test on this in 30 mins, watched at x2
Thanks!!
Now, this is the definition of an AMAZING video
thank you so much... My teacher makes it so complex.. I was feeling like I am solving GMAT problems.. now it is like addition for me..

very exciting voice :) thanks a lot
Can this probability distribution extend into 3 objects, for instance, in the marbles problem, instead of 2 colours, we deal with 3 colours?
Very helpful, thank you
please can you make a video explaining the differences between the binominal and hypergometric distribution, the poisson and the exp distribution. thanks
