I remember Mio when she was so sad crying that she couldn't stop Coco from leaving. I believe she really tried hard to hold tight. Mio mama is best and cares.
Yeah, but until now there is a issue for the obligation on permissions. If Coco stayed on hololive she would have lost the opportunity on Yakuza game. We also don't know if youtube would have changed, youtube was so slow to fix the flaws.

I'd like to point out that this is the same Mio who once questioned her own place in Hololive. We all talk about Fubuki and Sora being the pillars, but let's not forget the one who didn't give up on Hololive and believed in its bright future (and she didn't even need her Tarot cards for that!). This is why Ookami Mio is THE Mother of Hololive!
I’m amazed by how management got the right talents at the right time too. Goes to show how both arms of the company needed each other to keep things stable and to keep moving forward.
@@AxleTrade Good management and good talent, to be able to build a good organization you need good foundations, Hololive took some time, but they didn't skip building management and the support system, with great talent and people behind them that talk with them and work with them, it is nice to see things like these working in the end.
the way she set her goal to be the best miso soup is one of my favorite moments in all of hololive

I remember one of her early videos she was trying a high-energy, upbeat approach but it seemed forced, especially if you know her as a relaxed personality nowadays
Every agency needs a Mio in their ranks.
Having someone you can consult and point out what you can't see is always a good thing.

Well Coco ended up being the Mio of Vshojo so even with her graduation she went on to do the same thing for others.
You could also say Iofi is the Mio of ID too, she helped Moona gather the courage to collab with Pekora the first time

The early years were tough and scary
Both Talent and Cover were essentially learning on the fly
But they all got the hang of it and well
Mio was right
Pre-debut Cover is Like Nijisanji. At least, Cover changes into wholesome Agency.
Learning on the fly is absolutely correct. Remember some of the missteps of earlier vtubers like Kizuna Ai. They made some mistakes that would seem obvious now with hindsight, but in the early days everyone was trying to figure out what vtubers even are, let alone how to run a business with them. So I give them credit and withhold excessive blame for things that most likely would have been figured out the hard way by someone else if not them. Hololive came around at a good time and made all the correct moves, and now the genre is pretty well established for the long haul. It had to be a bit terrifying for both management and talent in those early days, before knowing what we know now, so mad props to the pioneers like these girls who stuck with it and gave the world a gift.
I'm honestly surprised we only lost 3 of the girls thus far. We have so little resignations and firings that losing any member is considered a traumatic event for the whole community. Even on the male side, Holostars JP and EN in total still only lost 5 members in total.
Cover really do go for that support role seriously and values quality over quantity.
(I forgot the loss of HoloCN, but that whole shebang was just completely outside of Cover's control)
@@matasa7463 yeah the T incident was completely unprecedented and there is no way in hell cover could have possibly seen it coming i mean no one would have predicted that things would spiral so far out of control and that a whole nation was bearing down on them over saying a word. an attack of that scale there was very little cover could have done and i dare say they did pretty well coming out of that storm of hellfire as good as they did. it was a simply no win situation.
@@dawnseeker176 The reason businesses try to keep clear of _that_ is because you're just going to get slammed by two different loud internet factions, owing to that you're sticking your foot into a _very_ complicated political situation that requires knowledge of three political parties, and a very messy era of history. It does indeed tend to be a no-win situation.
With how uncertain everything was back in the day, along with the fact that there really wasn't much like Hololive, you can't blame the talents for getting nervous. Putting so much of themselves into something that could ultimately end up falling apart, and seemed like it would when they were dealing with the streaming copyright issues... it couldn't have been easy, especially considering many of them are introverts. We're all lucky that Mio believed in the vision. That she saw where they could get one day. Somethig special like this is always hard to achieve for those working towards it. People like Mio who encourage their peers to not give up, to keep working towards the full potential of what they are a part of, are truly special.
She is known as Mama Mion for a reason
Another point that maybe not everyone understand is the amount of vtubers that couldn't make it.
People that were supposed to become big, or were really important for the vtuber world and suddenly were left behind.
That's why all the girls were scared.
and now both Subaru and Miko are arguably even bigger faces than Mio, who just believed in everyone around her, helped as many as she could, and lifted others up so they can achieve greatness.

In terms of pure numbers, Miko is easily in the top 5 at this point. A long way from when she was dead last in viewers.
@@KyokujiFGC i think Miko is number one in the world right now, which is crazy. At the beginning of 2020 she used to get 20k views per video, now she gets 400k on a decent day.
@@Rafael-vi4to she's definitely not no.1 worldwide, even compared to others in hololive there are some who get bigger numbers. BUT: there's no need to be no.1. As long as they are happy and have enough to live comfortably and even save up for the future that's enough
Don't act like Mion doesn't have a loyal audience because she definitely does. I find myself watching her streams the most out of the JP girls these days because how peaceful they usually are. Once found myself struggling to sleep and saw that Mio was streaming one of her morning streams she usually does and I feel asleep after listening for a few minutes.

Man, you just reminded me that NePoLaBo showed up on her tarot stream just after they lost Aloe, and it did turn out to be a sort of "right the ship" kind of talk with them, one by one. Everyone was confused as to how things would settle after that, but Mio did give some good advice on that occasion. Nene back then was trying to figure out her streaming persona, Lamy was trying to settle down from being a fan of Polka's past life to being her genmate, and a couple of other things still.
Yeah. The thing with tarot reading is that the cards are not magically reading your fate. Instead, it's an excuse for one to "interrogate" someone. When you're reading cards for someone who you know at least somewhat and you're witty about it you can link the meaning of the cards with things going on in their life and maybe ask them about their feeling or if some other things that you're not aware of happened, but in a subtle manner, so that they don't even realize that they are opening up to you instead of you "foreseeing their fate"

This is why I will always respect, remember, and learn more about the og vtubers because there really wasn't much money into it. Compared to the new gen talent today that can get a new pc or move to a new home in a matter of months, early hololive talents like Roboco, Miko, Aqua, etc had to work their ass off for 2 years to have and enjoy the taste of life. Even up until the 4th gen, it was still hard times in Hololive.
I started watching just when 4th gen started getting monetized on TH-cam, and I'll never forget both Kanata's release of the PPT parody cover, as well as the clip of Kanata just barging into Coco's apartment bringing McDonalds and they played ARK together, talking about how their work was about to start paying off.
For Miko, indeed she was at the hopeless point. Because she was working under Hololive but her subscriber was lower than Indie Vtuber, at that point anyone can be as hopeless and confused as Miko
@@Starfall01 Also , a lot of early projects that involved miko failed or got cancelled , so that really took a lot of her confidence , it wasnt until she got added into hololive that she started finding a little success as a streamer and started growing into it
If i had to guesstimate a bit, 3rd gen was the turning point, 4th gen was the up tick and EN gen 1 was the explosion
Aki said when YT nuked her channel, around Feb 2019, her entire paycheck one month was 12 yen. That's only like 10 cents US. It was very tough in the early days.
Miko's GTA clips brought me to hololive, so thank you Mio-Sama for convincing everyone to stay.

Same here so Bro, I did watch some Niji livers but never hooked up, but when I found the Mikochi's GTA stream on TH-cam which was viral back then I was instantly hooked up on her antiques and lost inside Hololive's rabbit hole 😅

Real talk, Mio's on the older side amongst all of the members, when her peers were only in their early to mid 20s, so she definitely held some conventional wisdom ahead of them.
Now that Hololive has been around for quite a while and most of the girls have grown as people as well, I hope they can also pass what they've learned to their kouhais.
Mio's the same age as Fubuki right? She was her classmates after all.

I feel lucky we still have most of hololive together after 5 years. Much like everyone else I thought this was a fad that would come to pass too. Hololive is so much deeper than just entertainment to me, I'm staying as long as they are.
This is so funny to me because Mio is a pretty big reason behind why I became a fan of Hololive all the way back in 2019.

She doesn't shine brightest in the front like Suisei, Pekora, Calli and some others. But she supports everyone from the back, becomes everyone's mom and even warn everyone with her frighteningly 100% accurate prediction. And thus she makes Hololive grows without anyone realize

I wont sit here and lie, first Hololive member i saw was guras as anyone can imagine as shes massive BUT I quickly saw Mio mama despite her not being as big as others I loved her streams, her cuteness and bravery, her singing and ukulele. And after that I found myself looking into most Hololive members.... came across many others that I enjoy and when im not watching anime im watching these girls give it their all!!!! Its so admirable that it actually made me think about my life and pushing myself to meet my goals and for that I cant thank Hololive and ALL the members enough for their hard work making MILLIONS of peoples lives a better one. This community is so wholesome (for the most part) and its a joy to be apart of it
although we already know that MIO MAMA came before miko, she was practically the first one to provide psychological and emotional support without being one.

I hold great respect for Vtubers, especially those who are part of an agency! It must be really hard to keep up with schedules, setting things up to record, and staying in character for hours! Especially back then, when it wasn't a very high paying job! Lord knows that I wouldn't be able to do it.
for any start-up companies, you need someone like mio to hold people together to go through rough times.

Seers and fortune tellers have been the source of mental stability for thousands of years into human history, probably from prehistoric times.
Just saying that not everyone have the talent to give out good advice and not many have the presence of someone who would listen to you pouring yourself out to them.
Mio probably had done some tarot readings into the future of Hololive back then and that's why she could say with confidence that it will become big.
Tarots and such might be some showmanship art, but without it and other forms of fortune telling, many important figures throughout human history might have simply given up and history would be something entirely different for the human race.
Miko's GTA 5 clip (within a compilation) was what made her stood out amongst the other Hololive talents, which also included my favorite JP member Subaru, but the duck wouldn't become a favorite until I saw her RE7 and RE8 clips instead.
I probably would've never discovered Hololive through Sakura Miko and Oozaro Subaru if Mio hadn't stopped them from quitting during the company's infancy. So thank you, mama wolf.

Nowadays, joining Hololive is a guaranteed huge gain of wealth and reach. Back then however, it really was unknown territory. It must have been very scary for the first couple members. Thanks Mio-mama for supporting the members behind the scenes.
