Cracking album that, which I still listen to regularly to this day. Can recommend the opener Haunted By You and from their second album Where Are They Now? is sublime
This is one of those strange songs from that era which you knew the name of, remembered that you quite liked it, but couldn't really remember how the song actually went. I did actually quite like it, but felt it was just missing something to make it really great. I always assciate it with Embrace - Come Back To What You Know, though that song built into a really anthemic song along song.
Martin Rossiter & co were class but easily over-shadowed in the scene. While "Olympian" was a signature single, the essential A-side toe-tappers are: "This Is Not My Crime" "Haunted By You" "To The City" Worth investigation.
Brings me back. Too young back then when it was new to know that no, they really weren’t like The Smiths. It would take a few more years to realize that The Smiths would never have an equivalent. Good efforts from Gene back then. I almost cringe now when I hear it. A little like the Clueless soundtrack.

Very good, it will grow on you after few more listens
Gene is one of my favorite bands. Subbed. Thumb up!
There are a lot of really good Gene songs actually... one of my favourites is Long Sleeves For The Summer :-)
A Very underrated Britpop band

Gene was always being compared to The Smiths I remember. Their song "Where are they now" reminds me of The Smiths...
The girl on the cover is from Bergman's Seventh Seal
