I have a 2020 Decoy. I ws excited when I saw this announcement, but im totally underwhelmed. This is equivalent to the Santa Cruz fazua powered emtb that came out nearly two years ago. We're now getting full powered motors (ZF being the most exciting) at 20kg bike weights PLUS we are getting gear boxes. Whilst I love my current decoy, when I come to replace it in a acouple of years time I will be spending 7-9 k on something that is full powered, at 20kg with a gear box Most of us want to ride further and faster and longer. The Pinion gearbox is a proper disruptor to the market. The ZF motor is not quite as disruptive, but it's close. The first direct to market brand that pairs these two innovations will clean up. My money will stay in the bank...come on YT get with the game!
Orbea RS801 Rise owners are wreaping the benifit of the lightweight ebike thing, but now are able to factory upgrade the software up to a full 85n/m rating.....the Fazua motor is going in the other direction
While I love the look and geometry of the bike, I personally think it comes to late to the market. This especially after the latest introductions of the newest light full power motors and tech. But if others like it and look especially for that type of bike = perfect.

I have not seen any footage or test of the Amflow bike. The DJI motor has interesting specs, but we neither know how it holds up nor do we know how the bike works on trails. so far it's the definition of a "Paper-Tiger", looking stron and huge on paper without any connection to the real life.
If it and the ZF pan out, they will obsolete many other motors. We need to wait and see, but both companies and significant pedigrees for electric motors.
That DJI motor is really interesting! But it is - with the smaller 600 wh battery - a bit over a kilo heavier than the fazua system. So all the weight savings of the DJI bike plus aprox 1 kg are due to lighter parts and a lighter frame which - if you ride hard - you don't want. I have a light emtb at 18,5 kg and I whish it was a kg heavier in exchange for a stiffer frame 😅
This bike would have been incredible if released last year, but honestly the bikes and new motor tech seen at the EuroBike show this year, make me want to wait and see.....
This is a pretty great bike. Wish YT would put this design/effort into a lightweight EMTB. Essentially the IZZO with 34mm forks and 29r and sub 16.5kg. A true Trail all rounder.
Cool stuff, but not that impressed with the power and battery. I feel like in 2025 motors and batteries are going to the next gen. After 85NM and 750w bosch cx line on my rail i dont see myself going to anything less than 85 NM. Next gen bike will be 85nm and around 750-900 W at lesser 18-19 weight. I love YT, ridden decoy core 4 before, but for me the stats aint that impressive. The looks of the bike is impressive though.
The boys are late to the party! We are very excited about the new motors DJI, ZF, Pinion. This is old news, sorry to disappoint, but now we can have lighter bikes with bigger motors and torque than this one...
This might be the trend presently, to attract/convert some MTBikers into ebike. After buying one of this light ebikes, and go for a ride on a full power ebikes, they'll think twice if it was a good or bad option going for light
This looks like a direct competitor with the Transition Relay, but not thought out as well. The fixed battery gives the bike a more sleek look, but the removable battery makes the Relay much more practical. The ability to carry 2 batteries to the trails makes the SL bikes much more usable and gives the rider the option to keep it in turbo without worrying about running out of power too quickly. The Relay can be run as a mullet or full 29r. The Relay can be run 160/160,170/170 or a combination of the two travel lengths. The carbon Relay is $1000 cheaper than the cheapest option on the YT, and the Alloy Relay is $3000 cheaper than the cheapest YT option. It seems to me like YT just decided to make a more expensive and less useful version of the Relay.
Weren't your prices wrong also? And many dont like the relay. The battery rattles and it's heavy and it doesn't ride that great. Overall I would say the relay is a fail. Watch the pinbike review
If after more then 4 years of decoy (think it was launched in 2019 or such) they waited with current lineup for another year they could have implemented a new bike with a system up to date. This bike, with fazua motor and this weight is already old before launching it. I see if the have launched this with zf or even better dji it could have been one of the most advanced and desiderable bike in the market. Like this, with the current price and the low relabilty and poor implementation of fazua system is something that is not so much appealing
Thanks, I'll wait for a couple of years, then I can maybe look at a full power and full range ebike that has an equally compact and light motor and battery. The rate of development is now accelerating because the manufacturers are (finally) under pressure. They've run out of people who will just pay high prices for average gear.

The motor is amazing and I couldn’t imagine wanting anything more powerful. I ride it in mostly the medium setting (river) and only go in turbo (rocket) on really steep climbs and only after I been ridding a couple of hours.

Would like to see a ride review to see what others say in the comments By the why DJI have thrown a massive spanner in the mix
When it's still not possible to add optional power extension to the bike... it's not enduro. Sometimes I wanna ride a whole day, not just for two hours at full steam. Mondraker dune is still the only lt power ride that fits "enduro". Buying two power packs gets you a full day if you wanna do it.
What does "fixed" battery actually mean? If the battery for whatever reason has an issue do I have to wait for an entire new frame? Or when the capacity of the battery decreases?
You can remove it, but you need to remove (unscrew) the motor first (you can drag it out from the bottom), so it's no problem if you need to replace it, but it's too inconvenient to do it every day for charging, so you usually charge it inside the bike directly (means you need a socket near to your bike or you use a power station)
I ride the Pivot Shuttle SL with this same motor system. Every reviewer of a FAZUA Ride 60 bike makes a big stink about how flimsy or weak the controller is. Im on my 3rd season with it and haven’t had a single issue with the controller.
Enough! NONE of this stuff is worth more than 7K and 60nm isn't going to cut it anymore. Give us MGU and 85nm....chains need to go away in E-MTB field.
lol but it’s not though. And who cares? Surely you just compare it to what else is out there right now… and by all accounts it’s one of the absolute best. I don’t understand why so many people are so desperate to talk shit about new bikes… literally every new bike that comes out, someone will find SOMETHING to whine about 🙄
meh. i can tell Rob isn’t too impress. i’ll wait in until those two smaller but powerful motor gets here in the states and hopefully priced where most of us can afford it
Where is the bash protection??????? WTF? Why is it so hard to provide protection for the motor and the chain? Bike looks great but it is unrideable where I ride ....total fail
That thing makes no sense to me... half power, half battery, as heavy as any other new full power emtb and for YT standards insanely expensive... who buys this bike!?
Rob you have started to ride both uphill and downhill with the seat post slammed. Why? It looks ridiculous having your knees pumping higher than your hips.
I think a lot of you are forgetting that a 60nm motor will crank you up a hill no problem. I dont understand why everyone wants more than 85NM. That's significantly more torque than a lot of fast 600cc race motorcycles. 60nm is about equivalent to the torque on a 600cc street bike.
Try one, come back later. 60Nm is fine... if you all your riding budies are on equivalent bikes. Otherwise.... is almost riding with Bikes (those without any assist).
@@here4therides Yeah, but he would have no chance against a >85nm full fat emtb, its a totally different thing, I have some friends with SL bikes but they can't be in our group rides because they can't keep up, even if many of them are much fitter than some of the peope riding full fats.

The fazua motor uphill felt ok the 12s super boost was frustrating the mode switch absolutely toilet and the display super poor.
unfortunately if I’m spending £8500 I would like some more bells and whistles I managed 17.5 miles around the surrey hills.
What I thought was pretty good.
I would say I had to put in 10-15% more effort over my full fat bike but saving 5kg in weight
Yt may lose money on this one being to greedy maybe?
Would like to see a ride review to see what others say in the comments
By the why DJI have thrown a massive spanner in the mix
you already cracked the rim :) 15:08
Its not the rim , its the tire , a little bit swollen ...
@@lefthorse1 i meant on the nine oclock of the rim
Should have released before DJI update.
Ah, I was in saalbach a couple of weeks ago. Was that what the YT tent was up for?
Yes 🙌
@@RobRidesEMTB did you get to test that bike out on The Hackleberg Trail then?
@@IntoTheWhite04yes. Great trail!
When it's still not possible to add optional power extension to the bike... it's not enduro. Sometimes I wanna ride a whole day, not just for two hours at full steam.
Mondraker dune is still the only lt power ride that fits "enduro". Buying two power packs gets you a full day if you wanna do it.
Incredibly crowded market and depreciation on these bikes is frightening
What does "fixed" battery actually mean? If the battery for whatever reason has an issue do I have to wait for an entire new frame? Or when the capacity of the battery decreases?
You can remove it, but you need to remove (unscrew) the motor first (you can drag it out from the bottom), so it's no problem if you need to replace it, but it's too inconvenient to do it every day for charging, so you usually charge it inside the bike directly (means you need a socket near to your bike or you use a power station)
@@e_mtb Ah okay thanks! Than it's actually not a big problem.

speed and power
I ride the Pivot Shuttle SL with this same motor system. Every reviewer of a FAZUA Ride 60 bike makes a big stink about how flimsy or weak the controller is. Im on my 3rd season with it and haven’t had a single issue with the controller.
Enough! NONE of this stuff is worth more than 7K and 60nm isn't going to cut it anymore. Give us MGU and 85nm....chains need to go away in E-MTB field.
Great advert for the bike with a motor housing fixing missing!
Uh, that market is long gone.
How?! This is exactly what I want from an EMTB…
YT are about 3 years behind the curve
How so?
Waiting to get budget on point
Look at the Cannondale moterra sl, Canyon neuron onfly or orbea rise or wild@@ChupacabraOffroad
Would need steep discount right upfront to compete with new stuff (this is not new maybe for YT is but not for industry)
lol but it’s not though. And who cares? Surely you just compare it to what else is out there right now… and by all accounts it’s one of the absolute best. I don’t understand why so many people are so desperate to talk shit about new bikes… literally every new bike that comes out, someone will find SOMETHING to whine about 🙄
meh. i can tell Rob isn’t too impress. i’ll wait in until those two smaller but powerful motor gets here in the states and hopefully priced where most of us can afford it
Too expensive for a direct to consumer bike, you get the Mondraker Dune RR for almost the same
I'm guessing this one of Doddys burner accounts.
@@JustEnjoyingWheelsI'm guessing this one is not very smart
@@Mountain_Manu chill, it's a joke... There is no need to make assumptions about my intelligence
@@JustEnjoyingWheels I don't use the internet like that. WYSIWYG.
They're too late with this. I want the DJI.
Where is the bash protection??????? WTF? Why is it so hard to provide protection for the motor and the chain? Bike looks great but it is unrideable where I ride ....total fail
Well priced
That thing makes no sense to me... half power, half battery, as heavy as any other new full power emtb and for YT standards insanely expensive... who buys this bike!?
You lost me when I saw the 7K price..
Rob you have started to ride both uphill and downhill with the seat post slammed. Why? It looks ridiculous having your knees pumping higher than your hips.
After watching the recent Nicolai Saturn 16 MGU update video this YT, and others just look obsolete
Money 💰 🤑 💸
Nice looking but underpowered and the battery is tiny.
My buddy on his Orbea Rise smoked us non-ebikers on all climbs. A 60nm ebike is wayyyy quicker than a mountain bike.
@@here4therides Yeah, but he would have no chance against a >85nm full fat emtb, its a totally different thing, I have some friends with SL bikes but they can't be in our group rides because they can't keep up, even if many of them are much fitter than some of the peope riding full fats.
@@Echoes- sounds like you and I are looking at ebikes in very different ways. I'm looking for a shuttle to get up a big climb so I can smash on the way down after Im tired from doing pedal laps first. Also as a recovery system so i dont have to stop riding.
@@here4therides Yeah I guess you are the niche market this is aimed for. I don't get the appeal because my full fat are like only 2 kg heavier than this, but with 40% more power, and with 75% bigger battery. And If I really want to get a work out, I just run it in ECO or Trail mode and still have much longer range than this as a bonus.
But to each his own.
You lost me at Fazua….
The YT bits look ok. The Fazua bits look cheap. A marriage destined to fail.
YT has that 'cool southern cali factor', but I have to say this thing is a total miss on every front. No removal battery. 2021 called and wants their pricing back. low powered heavy ebikes are not hot. I'm just left shaking my head. The only other fail that is larger is the horribly ugly new Marin coming out. "EDIT- Rob I can tell you didn't like this bike, just come out and say it, we count on you for honest reviews even if it means YT won't buy you drinks and dinner.
❤❤❤
All people that say this looks like a Yeti are blind. There are no real similarities but two wheels, full suspension and that the first letter of the brands name is a Y. 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
There are better options for less money. Love YT, but they are late to the game and releasing a bike at this price point with this motor/battery spec is disappointing.
I have a hekler sl with this terrible motor and controller. Im on my 3rd motor and 2nd controller. The bikes barely 6 months old. The frame display is so dated compared to spesh and trek. My friends gen2 levo sl is far far superior and even feels more powerful.
Yeah, I’m hearing about a lot of issues with this Fazua motor. Looking to get my first e-mtb soon. I’ll wait a little bit longer I guess.
"Super Interesting" is code words for marketing BS. 😁
No Mgu, has a derailleur?? What is this 2023? 😂
yt used to be the value for money brand along with canyon. now its just asunreasonably expensive as the rest if them. plus they have a big problem. the full power 19kg dji bike.
So, a puny motor with sketchy reliability and a small battery.... It looks like it's going to be rendered obsolete before it's even hit the shelves by the launch of the Amflow.
Super margin
Small battery, not full power motor, not for big tours, when I wann get beefy, there'll be a lift most of the time anyway, not even a RE available
Thats actually not very good deal, my full power Kellys Theos F90 is 22kg with 720wh battery, more travel, 6800€ new...
The ride quality must be really good .. otherwise.. there is little to be exited about with this bike. and the price... pfff
45 lbs & not even a full power???
Torque is not the figure we measure e-bikes by. We don’t measure anything but factory machinery in torque. Review is pretty bad and I didn’t even finish reading the description yet
8500??? Switch off video at the same second.
The top spec model from many other competitors is well in excess of 10,000… look at the top spec Trek, Specialized, Canyon, Pivot, Transition etc etc…
@@Mockle07 thanks, i have heckler and nomad v6. I know market perfectly. “Look at the YT have positioning themself” at first, its direct sales, its not bootik brand. And lots more.
@@AloiziyBombel Less than Canyon’s top spec models and other “value” brands. The top spec Heckler and Nomad models are both WELL north of £10k… I don’t understand what you’re trying to say here. I’d buy the one that is best on the trail and it sounds like the YT is better… oh well.
@@Mockle07 value Canyon?!! Are You joking? Nothing to discuss)))) funny
