Owners? De Bruyne has a salary of 20 million a year and Haaland 19 million a year. Wanna bet they don't pay taxes too? Stop buying immigrants i say as a leftwing voter.
barely an Englishman in your teams, just out of interest if you want to go to the Australian Open Tennis , a day pass is 600 pounds cheapest each. don't be fooled sport is for the rich
@ football has traditionally been a sport for the normal person/working class. Maybe that is what is changing? I hear a lot of football tourists go to uk for the atmosphere- that atmosphere only comes from loyal fans, not football tourists or piped-in music or shooting merch in to the crowd. Tennis majors - not sure that has been a staple of the normal person? Like Wimbledon, I think the average salary of the spectator would be higher than at a football match?
No loyalty from the clubs. I live in Germany where I pay 190€ for season ticket at Paderborn (liga 2) Even at Bayern Munich you can get tickets from 15€ a game. It's pure greed...
German clubs suck in Europe compared 2 size of clubs but fan ownership model means the fans probably don't care because cheap tickets and better atmosphere
If you boycott, it may mean lower salaries for players, who worst still, greedy owners looking at alternatives, like liquidating clubs and their assets.
Fans will need to vote with their feet, but other wealthy kids and older wealthier people will happily replace them unfortunately. Crowds are already quieter and less fanbases in the grounds. However, revenue from fans means nothing for bigger clubs. Look at the bundesliga. They understand that
You’d have to be mental to pay those ticket prices. In the Man City case for example the club is owned by a petro state. They have all the money in the world. And yet they squeeze fans for every red cent. And they will keep doing it.
I was a regular attender of football matches from 1982 until 2016,was an on-off season ticket holder and attended away matches at 67 of the 92 clubs that made up the four divisions, from Newcastle to Plymouth,Blackpool to Southend. I balked at prices of over £40 for a match ticket, let alone the £70 - £90 mentioned here.
This is nothing new. Slowly been happening for years. Get rid of hooligans slowly, now even noisy fans are a nuisance so phase them out. Make it touristy for richer people, domestic or international, money is money. No soul, no identity, just a business. Loyalty is a commodity and fans don’t seem to understand that yet. Why would they? Welcome to football Inc. Fans are customers, or even products I suppose. I went over to rugby myself. Couldn’t stand football changing into this situation.
The big clubs should be ashamed of this. Ticket sales are one of the smallest components of their revenue. They make far more from shirt sales for example. Local fans are the heritage of the club. They are multi-generational fans. They are the ones who will be in the stands through good and bad. They are the ones who come up with the songs/anthems, who are the ‘culture’ of the club. They make the ‘brand’. Liverpool or Arsenal or United are not the behemoths they are now without the everyday supporters who go to each and every game. They should be rewarded for their loyalty not taxed because they helped make their clubs the giants they are now.
I don’t understand why they don’t have Saturday live games on tv . That would bring revenue and help the UK economy. The old way of thinking that they would lose fans at the stadiums is just rubbish.
The protests are cute but pointless. The horse has bolted. An elite class owns the game and they attend the games - from rich nepo tourists to corporate sponsors. Its over. Best go watch real football in the lower leagues.
Clubs need to make money, completely nativist to not raise prices so more international fans can enjoy watchig their team play. The clubs are international , local fans are irrelevant for the premier league teams. They have more fans abroad. owner is a foreigner , players are foreign , club is now a foreign floating entity.
Unfortunately the “investments” we are now seeing from US-based entities shows signs of moving these football clubs in a similar way to the US franchise model 😢
@ and that sucks. Like as an American I feel like we get thrown under the bus by European fans bc of American owners. Honestly I don’t blame them. Like nobody likes sports washing but look at the Manchester clubs. City got mid east owners who gave them a dynasty, a new stadium, and memories to last a lifetime. United got American owners who gave them a mountain of debt, a leaky roof, and Antony.
Don't bother boycotting the matches, the ticket receipts are next to nothing. If you want the Clubs to take notice. Cancel the TV subscription to Sky and TNT etc. If the TV Rights deal collapses the whole house of cards falls down. Fans are squeezed at both ends, but lack the collective understanding of where clubs get their revenue. No one buy a drink, or food at a home game, or a shirt or a scarf or a match day programme, suddenly clubs are losing money per match, cause that is where the profit is made not on the ticket price. Target them in their pockets.
The premier league doesn’t want local fans. They want football tourism. I’m a black cabbie in London, and most of the people I pick up are from abroad. Spending hundreds in the club shop and buying food and drink inside the ground. Locals buy their food and drink outside the ground . They know on the smaller games the locals will pick up the spares .
But they'll all go and pay the prices anyway, united have fans pay 66 but they hold up a banner saying they disagree with it? Where is the logic in that???
It sums up the UK, companies treat their loyal customers like rubbish and the people just swallow it up. Its long been said that you could make tickets free and you'd barely affect the revenue of EPL clubs.
0:33 they legit have the nerve to charge basically 1 pound a minute and remember they do not stop the clock. So if you don’t make it back from halftime each minute you miss is like losing a dollar.
its about greed and not about the love of the game already. best for all true soccer lovers to walk away and leave the rich owners and Arabs to play with each other alone
Stopped going to Arsenal a few years back, stopped Sky 2 years ago when it was 90 quid a month. I can afford it but really don’t see how paying over 3 grand a year for me and my daughter is value for money and the 3 grand comes out of my net salary so need to earn 5k to do all these things. Clubs need a bit of a rethink because without fans they may have the best league in the world but for how long? This cannot end well and rather paying average players 5 million a year pay then 3 million and they will still come, buy players for 30 or 49 million instead of buying people like Anthony from Ajax for 80 million. I know easier said then done but the clubs FFP are a joke, just look at Man City. As long as they think they can milk the fans they will just keep spending more and eff the FFP rules. If they continue Clubs are in danger of collapsing under the debt. Anyway I guess something needs to happen
You can't price out the fans. The top 20 clubs in English get billions. Surely, they can do a fair and cheap priced season ticket for the fans. Any spare, then fans can buy them at the stadium on the day for face value.
1:59 How I know Man City has lost the plot I ordered a KDB jersey from the website it was legit shipped in a paper brown bag like a standard Amazon package with no cover or seal or put in a plastic bag for protection. Absolutely criminal. I ordered a Ac Milan jersey and they sent it in a high quality box with their symbol on it and it was sturdy and made of quality material. City do not give a damn about the fans anymore they just want money
It`s the fans own fault , as long as they pay and support the clubs , the clubs will try and Milk as much as they can from their supporters , not only through ticket sales , also television sales and massively overpriced Merch , sometimes bringing 2 - 3 kits out every season just to milk their supporters
No fans, no football. Bless them. Greedy owners have kidnapped our football. Expensive tickets, expensive streaming.
Owners? De Bruyne has a salary of 20 million a year and Haaland 19 million a year. Wanna bet they don't pay taxes too? Stop buying immigrants i say as a leftwing voter.
Think about your future lad , just games and benefits payments aren’t going to help you
Greedy players?

Don't blame the tourist fans they're welcome, blame the clubs.
Blame the fans for the huge price increases in recent years? Can you pls elaborate on that?
If you do a boycott, they will be forced to reduce the price.
Its alright, united fans will buy norwich scarves and will pay the money to attend anyway.
There aren't many united fans in Manchester 😂😂 they come from Norwich London Kent Cornwall Essex surrey 😂😂
If you boycott, it may mean lower salaries for players, who worst still, greedy owners looking at alternatives, like liquidating clubs and their assets.
@@ruidean72 What have the highly paid players done?
Some clubs tourists will just take there place
Fair play Brentford.
Fans will need to vote with their feet, but other wealthy kids and older wealthier people will happily replace them unfortunately. Crowds are already quieter and less fanbases in the grounds.
However, revenue from fans means nothing for bigger clubs. Look at the bundesliga. They understand that
football is becoming an upper class sport...its not even middle class anymore
You’d have to be mental to pay those ticket prices. In the Man City case for example the club is owned by a petro state. They have all the money in the world. And yet they squeeze fans for every red cent. And they will keep doing it.
They'll keep paying those prices because they're gullible and stupid.

disgraceful . Fans should boycott .
@kevinwilliams1768 Did you ever see that movie the Fan with Robert DeNiro (1996)?

Its profiteering

100%.
5 quid for kids to go and see TheHundred at Edgbaston cricket ground. Much better atmosphere. Britain is being choked by shareholders...
Ticket prices will go up, but the performances are terrible. The roof is leaking ,it's embarrassing 😂
The price increase could be covered by 0.01% drop in players wages.
Well done Brentford!
I don’t understand why they don’t have Saturday live games on tv . That would bring revenue and help the UK economy. The old way of thinking that they would lose fans at the stadiums is just rubbish.
I heard it’s for making people watch local clubs’ games
The protests are cute but pointless. The horse has bolted. An elite class owns the game and they attend the games - from rich nepo tourists to corporate sponsors. Its over. Best go watch real football in the lower leagues.
It so sad that people are saying that they can't afford to watch their favourite sports teams. Yet there are athletes getting paid millions.
Clubs need to make money, completely nativist to not raise prices so more international fans can enjoy watchig their team play. The clubs are international , local fans are irrelevant for the premier league teams. They have more fans abroad. owner is a foreigner , players are foreign , club is now a foreign floating entity.
Respect the heck out of fans that do this. Wish this kind of culture existed in the us. Feels like ours valorizes the opposite.
Unfortunately the “investments” we are now seeing from US-based entities shows signs of moving these football clubs in a similar way to the US franchise model 😢

Players getting fat cat wages not even mentioned.
let's hope this will stunt the gap between the Premier league and other leagues like la Liga and Serie A
It sums up the UK, companies treat their loyal customers like rubbish and the people just swallow it up. Its long been said that you could make tickets free and you'd barely affect the revenue of EPL clubs.
The clubs know that the supporters won't switch to another club in the way they'd switch supermarkets if another one was cheaper.
@geoffpoole483 Yep, you'd think the club would actually reward such loyalty instead of exploiting them but na
Haven't the fans going to the emptyhad suffered enough already? 😢
Nothing on the Christmas Day car attack in London then…
With empty stadia they have nothing to sell. Time to take our game back.
0:33 they legit have the nerve to charge basically 1 pound a minute and remember they do not stop the clock. So if you don’t make it back from halftime each minute you miss is like losing a dollar.
This is caused by financial fair play, which requires that clubs increase profits to be able to recruit.
We, the fans, need to stop going to games.
its about greed and not about the love of the game already. best for all true soccer lovers to walk away and leave the rich owners and Arabs to play with each other alone
The premier league and ticket prices are eventually going to destroy football.
How's capitalism going?

I wouldn't go that far. Anyone who watches this boring crappy sport cannot be said to have brains.
