Some of the wealthiest people will buy fakes, they don't want to spend that kind of money after all that is how they got rich by not wasting their money.
it's the same with the resale market , it's not the illegal resellers who are selling the most it is the wealthy who are buying and reselling to make a huge profit.

As a hairstylist I am having problems with clients buying professional haircare off amazon and then complaining about performance, the products they bought were counterfeit but trying to explain amazon is full of fake skincare, haircare, perfume etc is getting tiresome. Always buy from a reputable source! You don't know what you're getting buying from a third party site.
I do genuinely believe alot of people will buy a fake off pre loved sites and think its real though so wouldn't judge someone if I saw a fake in the street as they probably don't know they're carrying a fake.

@Caleb Snell it's a nightmare honestly i advise all my clients no skincare, perfume, haircare, bodycare, candles, food or supplements off there. In France they actually have a counterfeit museum called musèe de contrefaçon and they literally have branded food items that are fakes... super scary.

I haven't loved gucci although I'm looking at a hobo bag they have with the cursive logo era with some bamboo detail for 80 lol BUT THAT BLUE ON YOUR BAG WOULD STEAL MY SOUL. Never noticed how pretty the colour was until now.

If u have any bags I can take a look and send you them, than you can coordinate with sellers. Even the Balenciaga city bags (no shade if youre still collecting that range) have always been around 300 ish canadian. Love that bag for youu so much. Need that colour in a travel bag

Whilst a mistake could be made about one person, I am 1000% sure that the reportage about fake bags is correct in the 'big picture'. Great video! Fakes are contributing to so much underworld, illegal stuff. And from what I’ve seen, they still cost about $500 plus….I would rather save up and use that $500 towards genuine craftsmanship.

I couldn’t believe this one both and all the fakes they had even down to some designer ink pens. To sun glasses. One I seen was a fake coach bag. I said really Coach is the most attainable designer. I told this one lady. I said honey what they are asking. go to the outlet you can get a real one cheaper. Of coarse I got the stank eye from the guy at the booth. Yeah, we work hard for the real thing. I did just take delivery on my Louis Vuitton Monogram Multicolor Lodge GM Black from Fashionphile. Perfect for my lifestyle and looks almost new. Very pleased 😄

I think most influencers who had more than a couple quota bags I think are suspect, especially if they are getting multiple quota bags in a short time frame.
I do think anyone who puts stuff online for public consumption are fair game. And I do think it helps put the “journey” into perspective.

This was interesting. I haven't heard of this person before. I think I am pretty indifferent about them doing this....basically because, people don't have to look at it. The people with money will be rocking fakes and convince you to save up for years for the real thing. I was on Reddit rep-ladies platform people would brag about which super fake was the best. I honestly side eye every influencer after being on that platform.

I have one fake bag: I bought a fake damier ébène in Bélize (why?? I couldn’t tell you), and when I carry it I always feel like a fake myself but my memories of the trip make me keep the bag.

I love the look of the birkin and kelly bags, but will never pay the price. My solution was to find the style but without any logos but made with actual leather materials. I have a “birkin” I purchased made of vegetable tanned leather, no Hermes markings but very clearly great quality. Also a “kelly” made of the same great leather. For me it’s just the shape and way the bag opens and closes, that I love. Not trying to fool anyone. If you notice all designers are inspired by the designs of other designers, they do the exact same thing. Case in point the Ralph Lauren satchel bag that mimics the birkin style…the mulberry…I don’t see anything wrong with that:)

Do you honestly think that these companies that utilize capitalism are also ethical and they’re not affecting the environment? Both are equally as bad, and I would actually argue that the ones that are funding a capitalist society that promotes over consumerism and creates a society that’s unaware of the global impact that these multi billionaire companies create is worse than the propaganda that they spread, so they can keep profiting off of a capital market.

Buying a $10 apple watch band on amazon instead of the $99 apple band is buying counterfeit goods!
Hauls from places like Amazon, Shein, & even F21 or H&M are full of designs w/ obscure branding copied from smaller brand releases.
We should consider how ethical EVERY purchase is & if it aligns with what we stand for!
