Its not only Turkey actually, some other eastern countries and asian countries are trying to get rid of american dependence. I've heard some countries are trying not to use dollar when trading internationally. I think people are just done being overbeard by US. They literally are ruling the world and changing the history as they wish since the 2nd world war. You can observe US effects on South America, middle east, korea, etc. Countries started to fight back and this was not surprising.

The reason for the US embargo was never the S-400 missile systems. It was just an excuse for us. There are more than 25 issues of disagreement between Turkey and the US, and the US is not willing to compromise on these issues. For example, it provides free weapons to a subsidiary of the PKK called SDG, which is a terrorist organization in the south, and provides training to terrorists. those terrorists are killing Turkish citizens with these weapons. instead of turkey, which is a nato ally and has one of the strongest armies, it allies with terrorists.
Similarly, Turkey, which is fighting against Russian expansionism in Libya and the eastern Mediterranean, is left alone by its NATO allies and an embargo is imposed on it.
US generals and politicians write the history of stupidity.

Should have also mentioned the TAI Anka, TAI Aksungur and Lentatek Karayel drones (and the upcoming Baykar TB3, TAI Anka-3 and STM Alpagut drones). And should have mentioned the fact that every Western European state with the exception of the UK and Spain have arms embargoes against Turkey and so does Canada and to a large extent the US, all due to anti-Turkey lawmakers and lobbyists. As a result Turkish weapons are as indigenous as possible, more than most countries, and therefore foreign countries have little control over export permits.
Even weapons where foreign engines were relied upon such as the T129 Atak helicopter and the Altay battle tank, have led to ongoing development of domestic engines. Germany sabotaged and delayed the Altay program for years before finally slapping an informal embargo in 2019 thereby preventing sale of their engines. Their informal embargo against Turkey dates back to the early 2010s and even prevented small arms transfers, which directly led to Turkey turning inwards and led to the boom of the Turkish small arms industry, quickly propelling it to one of the world's largest small arms exporters.

The Turkish-made TB2 is by far the world's best-selling MALE drone. The surveillance system used in this aircraft was Wescam cameras manufactured in Canada by the USA's L3 Harris. The global Armenian diaspora demanded an embargo on the grounds that TB2s were used during the Armenia-Azerbaijan war. A group of ultranationalist Armenians demonstrated in front of L3 Harris' factory. As a result, the L3 Harris Wescam ceased to be sold. A few months after this event, the Turkish electronics company Aselsan launched its first camera. In 2020, one was produced per month. Last year, the average monthly camera production increased to 10. Currently, more than 10 countries are using TB2s with cameras carrying Aselsan products. The number is increasing. Because Wescam is a camera suitable for general use. However, the cameras produced by Aselsan are special for fighter drones. In this way, it has features such as targeting from a distance. As a result, the Armenian lobby and the politicians it financed opened up a good job for the Turks. L3 Harris has lost one of the fastest growing markets. In today's world, if embargoes were successful, countries like Iran or North Korea should never have existed.

The developments in the Turkish defense industry are not limited to the Baykar TB2 and TAI (TUSAS) TF-X project. Besides BAYKAR, UAVs produced by TUSAS are being developed very effectively and continuously. As a result of the defense industry momentum we have achieved with the selfish and persistent embargoes of the USA, our defense industry is becoming more and more national and independent every day.
The false accusations and stupidity of the US regarding the S400 clearly showed how unreliable the US is as an ally. As a small summary for foreign readers who do not know the subject; Turkey is a country on the edge of hot conflict more than any other country in the world. For many years wars have been going on in the south of Turkey just beyond the border. We're not talking about a threat thousands of miles away, we're talking about hot conflicts a few hundred meters away. In the event of war in Iraq and later in Syria, the cause of which is still unclear, Turkey wanted to purchase an air defense system, but the USA repeatedly rejected this offer. Turkey has told NATO and the USA many times that it will try alternative ways to meet this need. Although Turkey wanted to develop a joint air defense missile with China years before the S400, this attempt was stopped. There is a very strong lobbying activity in the USA, and the US Senate is governed by a lobby of senators who serve various power, country, political views, racist groups, take bribes or just satisfy their personal ambitions, instead of free will. Among them, there are fundamentalists who are hostile to Islam, as well as groups of bigoted patriots. Since the USA was founded, it is no longer a secret that it has developed and implemented national and global policies in this direction at all costs, as it has the intention to become the dominant power in the world.
As a result, everyone has to consider their own safety against this intent. It is very clear that the US's two-faced alliance policies do not ensure the national security of anyone and are unreliable. Therefore, Turkey has to develop its own defense industry.

Congrats! A concise and very well put story of "imperialist USA" politics that intended derail Turkish defense industry. However, this kind of attitude of USA made Turkey more determent than ever. As someone above put it; "The more pressurized something is, the stronger it explodes." So, this is exactly what's happening, which serves for Turkey in every way.

    • @hakan737

@@ahmetatci7745 yes, thats true, in a sense we are living the truth of a concise proverb. they gave us fish for years, now we learned to fish ourselves.
It is necessary to thank for such embaro practices and for keeping Turkey in the position of a guard dog for years. Sometimes the trigger for creative motivation is different. This is what's in us.
Every embargo and obstacle has been a good motivation for us to produce it. Unfortunately, if we had been able to break Turkey's policy of surrender, which lasted for 60-70 years, we would be in a much different position today.
It is necessary to read America's world-dominant politics very well. Who is behind these policies? Why do they have such intentions?
I recently read two books. I'm still reading one of them. I recommend it if you are interested. One is David Passig's book 2050. In this book, he tells about the game order established by the USA and how he took himself into a protection circle and what he did for it. With official reports and discourses. It's not fictional.
The second book tells the dirty work behind all this. The person behind this whole game; "enemy of humanity, henry kissinger"..I'm halfway through the book and disgusted with the foundations and ideology that Kissinger served. The same for both USA and UK .

He got in my radar as early as in 1973, when he and amerikan-papet Arab sheiks had signed the deal of "fixing the value of the Dolar to petrol!" That agreement was the CALCULATED game changer of the money barons! In actual fact, it was the very turning point, where the usa had started hegemonizing the World. It was Nixon era, when the usa demolished the old "GOLD-DOLAR" tie. Simply because, then the usa government had to keep "a certain amount of gold for every single printed Dolar note" in the National Bank of the usa as the deposit / guaranty . After fixing the Dolar to petrol, the usa had started printing Dolar notes with the face value of 10, 100, etc with the cost of roughly 10 cent each!! This was how the usa had controlled the rest of the World! If the usa keeps going as is, soon Putin would nuke the usa without any hesitation! Final note, behind all these inhuman acts are the hand-full of money barons of 13-14 families. This is what bothers me the most!
All in all, these are the very people, who don't like the idea of a self sufficient "either economically or militarily" Turkey or any nation.

The USA will play her cards and of course, Turkiye will play her cards back at them. I'm so happy about the embargos on military equipment, arsenal, and weapon systems because it's always easier to purchase what is available than making it by yourself. With each embargo that the USA placed on Turkiye In the last 10-15 years, in return Turkiye has been building a massive infrastructure and technology ecosystem with multiple companies that have experience in building technologies and software. So this is not one company that accomplished everything. There are so many subsidiary contractors and companies that work together on these projects at a level of efficiency that it is almost unreal. I know the speed of these accomplishments seems unreal to most but people have to look back on the Cold War years and how both the USSR and the USA were building new things almost every day at an unbelievable speed because there was a constant need and race to build new technologies to be able to survive. As a nation, Turkiye now feels the same way and works the same way. Thousands of engineers practically live on site and make the impossible possible. Anybody who doubts about these will soon witness how the impossible will become possible. New accomplishments just pave the way to bigger accomplishments in the future. Just sit tight and witness the greatness of our nation!

If it was not for foreign interference and military take overs they would be way ahead of many things than today , because of the geopolitical importance of this country was always in the middle of thug of wars between superpowers , every superpower wants Turks in their side , one arm grabbed by USA one by Russia legs by Europeans and Israel constantly messing with their brain and they are so resilient. According to google search Türkiye is the middle of the earth , city called Kirsehir . They commend 3 major seas and only county on earth to have their own sea , Sea of Marmara. Look at the map .

Also one of the reasons why Turkey is a hidden powerhouse is they are not alone, racial and historical wise, they are just the admiral ship for the whole Turkic world. What would people expect from a nation that was a superpower throughout the known history from Japan sea to central europe all the known worlds of those respective hictorical phases, be mediocre or silent forever? Where Turkey is located; Caucuses, Midle Eastand the Balkans are host to lots of religious, ethnic, cultural conflicts that is constantly ignited by varios groups; Americans, Europeans, Zionists! Turkey should be militiraly very strong, but should always follow the PEACE FIRST policy!
The US state department is controlled by various LOBBYING groups particularly when it comes to the Middle East!
In order to have a good realtions with America, you HAVE TO HAVE GOOD RELATIONS with ISRAEL "FIRST".
When the relations with Israel-Turkey declined, the US started penalzing Turkey and started rewarding its foes!
Even thoug, Turkey is a member of NATO, The US has been supporting the PKK, YPG terror groups (arming, financing, training, providing logistics and political support).
These kinds of behaviors by the West pushes Turkey for "SELF SUFFICIENCY"!
