Consider the calorie requirements of a coyote compared to a heron-you have documented multiple heron captures in a day, hard to see that gophers could meet the coyotes need based on what you have documented, where are they getting their calories? What are we missing? You are truly blessed by the observations you have documented, but you have earned them with patience and dedication-your viewers are enriched by your significant labor and passion, thank you

Thanks. I really appreciate that. I was really hoping to document a successful capture with that coyote. It seems to me a 4 pound heron eats as much as a 40 pound coyote. The coyote was really careful and stealthy and I suspect it could be really successful under the cover of darkness. I have noticed quite large droppings at Bolsa Chica so some Coyotes are eating a good amount.

Wonderful footage once again, sir. Are we to assume that Two-Toes has passed away?

Thank you. I saw this heron limp a little bit and I thought for a moment it was two toes but it turned out I zoomed in and I think it has a burr temporarily stuck on it’s foot but it seemed to have fallen off fortunately. I suspect two toes likely didn’t make it but there is a chance either that tangle came off or someone was able to help him. I would be a little surprised to see him but honestly the area where I filmed him is really overgrown so that might be why I haven’t encountered him since earlier this year.
