Casper, the other guitarist actually used to be the lead singer when they started with the band, but about a year or so after Eloi joined the band they decided that he would become the lead singer and Casper would do the backing vocals. The little brother of the best friend of Casper didn't come home one day and he was missing for hours. Casper was waiting with other friends and the family when they got the news that his body was found, he had fallen with his bike into a canal in Amsterdam and drowned. Casper took his guitar and wrote this song to deal with his feelings of grief and loss.
This was indeed from the same event as the songs with Direct. No Kensington normally does not use strings, The Amstel Live event is just a special once a year happening where many artists come and play together. If you want to hear Dutch Country then Danny Vera is your man. His most famous song is Roller Coaster from the live @Stenders session.
Again. Great reaction. Now "No me" (videoclip) and "sorry" are also great songs. And by the way, they don't just do ballads...there is more. Like "St. Helena". And if you want to see some dutch country music (sort of) look at Danny Vera with "rollercoaster" 😊
Usually the bands that perform at 'Vrienden (friends) of Amstel (beer brand that sponsors the event) Live' don't have the strings or coirs etc. Those are extra's to make all the different performances even more special. Thanks for your reactions.
Great suggestion! We have added this to our reaction list. We are a bit behind on filming this week. Our computer crashed and we had to rebuild everything back. Thank you again for watching our RV.
There's something you need to know about this concert. Normally bands, singers and orchestra's have little to do after the new year, and the next three months of the year. The city council of Rotterdam had this idea to book some bands, and used a free theatre for the first one way back in the nineties. That grew in what you see today: A week of Dutch artists playing music made by others and themselves. Today it is an 'institution' and the sponsor is the same one too.

One of the few bands that sounds just like the album…. There aren’t a lot of bands that can replicate that.
Think you would like “all in vain” by di-rect! (Duif sessions) 🙌🏻
