After years of talking about it we finally purchased ourselves a nice shed and are in the process of transforming it into a back yard studio. This video documents part 1 of our shed build showing us picking it our, having it delivered, and our thoughts and plans for how we are going to use it to improve our business! #shed #
I would make sure to put the shed on cinder blocks. The bottom wood needs to be treated so insects don’t get in.

Really nice shed. OMG, I have seen a few sheds deliver but nothing like that before. Most sheds are leveled and have stone and blocks under them. Most have a dolly that they could put your shed anywhere you want. Just saying I would not want that on the ground for the money you paid for it. Best of luck to you and Sammy and Finn.
Same thing I commented. They could have put it anywhere they wanted it. Company took the quick and easy way out. Not to mention the way they slammed it on the road.
I would definitely say insulated and either put up paneling or sheetrock and put some vinyl plank laminate flooring so you can be nice and cozy when you're in there working. Love it it's amazing!

Just get a skid steer and cut down the hump in the yard get some stone and put a base down and turn the shed the way you want it you'll will be happier It won't coast that much

Those shed guys have their own dynamic that cracks me up.
You can make a little courtyard between the sheds. Get some reclaimed brick and make the paths, then plant flowers and use some of your unique outdoor collection to decorate

I agree should have been raised on blocks because of rain and snow melting and staying under the shed flooring and may produce rot. Just saying. and as stated above you already started with the insulation. and deciding on walls and flooring. Need ventilation in the shed to stop mole from producing. (had that at FNL house when the passed and no fans left on and everything got full of mole: furniture, walls, flooring & clothing). Good Luck.
Also always wanted to say why don't ya'll have inside covering for the walls of the inside of addition (The Cattio) to stop the rain and snow from coming in, and when its not raining or snowing. just raise it up. Polyethylene visqueen rolls are made from durable, multi-purpose plastic material that is wrinkle and weather resistant. again just saying.😍☮

I would definitely paint inside. You could also put up drywall. It would be cute if you eventually painted your house to match the shed!
I've got a similar shed that I use for storage of a lot of the same things. Although I live up on Long Island I'm still very close to the shore and the salt air and humidity has been a huge problem for me and everything I'm storing in it. Be very careful on how to use this shed and consider properly insulating and waterproofing it or risk ruining anything long term.

Insulation of the shed has begun and plan to run some type of low energy dehumidifier in the humid months.
I live in the woods, so mold is a problem for me!

O my gosh these guys!! Here is Missouri they have a machine that lifts its and puts it right where you want it. And they use cinder blocks to level. Did they say they have been doing this for 30 yrs?? Lol Wow!! They way they drop…holy moly. Hopefully it didn’t damage it being right against that stump. Love y’all and that baby bump 💕

Tucker you are crazy game climbing on a roof with a chainsaw in going motion!! I totally agree with separating your work from your home, it's so much better controlling Anxiety. You will have more headspace for the things you do for work and for the things you do at home. With bub coming along I am sure you will really appreciate the two places.
Having designed a few landscapes, I use a garden hose to assist in laying out curved pathways. It helps to visualize it in situ. Best of all to you.

Add some gutters or water is going to rot the bottom faster. Put it on foundation, insulate and it will last longer! It’s an awesome shed! Great plans you guys!

If you cover walls, use rock wool insulation it won’t burn or mold. Give all the rafters and exposed lumber a white paint to keep it brighter inside.
I have never heard of rock wool insulation?? They need something to protect it.

Mine has wiring for 12 outlets, insulation and I had customized paints tongue and groove boards for walls. I love it. Craft area and a relaxation area!!!
I would recommend after you insulate that you put up plywood walls....I did that in my she shed and I can literally put shelves wherever I want without having to worry about where the studs are.

I remember watching a movie that took place in the 60’s. This guy would drive a truck full of clothes, I believe he sold blouses. The movie was A Walk on the Moon, had to look it up. This kinda reminds me of that time, BRING BACK THE 60’s!! 🥰 I bet there’s a show just following these two brothers around,”you need a permit but I don’t need to see it”. NICE shed !!! Stuff the walls and ceiling with fiberglass and paneling to give it a more professional and working look. Keep it warm in winter and cool in summer with an A/C unit from your picks. You will get it looking Good soon!!
That would be perfect 👍 maybe a paved area out the front. Electrical - lighting, A/C, dedicated filming area, office space.

I make my living by crafting and I have so much product in my house my husband and myself are constantly shifting it to move around and I totally get what your saying by keeping it separate from your nest!! You can come put a couple sheds on the other side of the lake and use it for a vacation spot . It will be just me on the land and I'm gonna find my honey spot, do a garden...and the rest...I don't know. When I get down to it...I'll let ya know. Not looking for money, just someone else to enjoy the peace and serenity with the rest of the land that I'm not using. I love sharing on my playground😁🤙✌

Just maybe...You can put up a proper shed with safe connections of water/electricity etc and possibly rent it to city dwellers like us for week end getaways..with gardening and walk in the fields etc. Just simple and safe and not too fancy..for people to enjoy the night skies, the view of the lake etc.
It would still be free for the city dwellers also. .people are having it so hard now a days.. I know what it's like to be financially unstable and down on your luck...Also, I love to give, if someone likes my shoes, I would take them off and give them away😁✌️
Hey i thank you need to put that up off the ground . You need sinder blocks. Or a concrete floor . You will get water damage . From rain ,and snow . Your yard looks great. I was a little worried about the baby and him walking . Also they cut all your trees down. You need to put blinds up to protect your clothing . I know from experience.

Your new shed looks great! About 7 years ago I bought a similar type that looks about the same except mine was only 8’x12’. Perfect size for my yard. It was made by Amish people in PA and even though I live in north central West Virginia the place I got it from was only 4 miles from my house. They looked like they were kinda rough delivery it though. At least to me. Glad it got there safely but know you can still pull it out a bit from that tree stump. Mine also was set on smaller blocks and leveled. Only on the corners. Afterward I put some landscaping stones along the bottom because weed trimming can chop into your shed sides at the bottom so be careful. Thanks for the video and best of luck with your plans. All I can say is they do shed delivery a lot different where I live. Holy cow! Enjoy !
The walls must be insulated put dry walled, ceiling same thing then floor needs painted at the very least with water proof paint if not doing anything else to it.
Mold, bugs heat and the cold will make it impossible to use like you want and anything you put in the shed needs protected.
Gravel or mulch around the bottom will prevent the floor from being destroyed from moisture with rain and snow. Its alot of work but 100% necessary cost way too much to get destroyed in the first summer.

Good job yall, getting things done. It may beneficial to have artificial grass properly installed around the shed too so that when the ground gets wet there wont be dirt tracked in; also for the oasis.
Yeah that was a thought too. They sell that field turf online pretty cheap might be worth getting some.

Really smart move. Looks nice and can adapt to many different uses as the need arises. Some white rock, stone pavers and planters would look great....but thats just my opinion. I look forward to more videos on the evolution of the new shed! Best of luck!

In Michigan they make us dig a 6 ft deep rat wall and fill it with cement and it's inspected by the city first. For ours we had my brother bring his company backhoe, dig it 6 ft then after the inspector left we filled it back up 4ft. Crazy 🤪

I love the new Shed! It compliments the house, and the position it is in will be great to back the truck, Trailer, Escalade up to and use the double doors for loading and unloading!
You could get some square or rectangular patio stones and make a “porch” area by both doors, maybe in time make a patio stone patio off the small door porch.
I like the space between the two sheds, they will be great backdrops along with the trees… for a central “Oasis” as Sammie says.
A row of easy maintenance privacy shrubs would look great along the space where the back fence is, give the “Oasis” a great look as well!

My hubby and I happily spend every moment together and have so for over 17 years. We work from home in our business and I agree that it’s difficult to separate the home from the business. Having Finn you’ll want to give them a place to play, shout, sleep etc freely without disturbing videos and also to create safety and privacy too. Congratulations guys, evolving is key. The shed creates possibilities endless xo

Congrats! A couple thoughts I hope you don't mind. Insulation for sure. 1. If you are going to work out there you want to be able to heat and cool it to make it bearable for the time there, then drywall. 2. Ebay is starting a new listing program to eliminate backgrounds other than white, which will be required eventually. If you make your astroturf wall, then consider a white photo backdrop (or sheet) on a pipe, curtain rod or something, above it so that you can drop it down when needed for eBay stuff. 3. The windows are great for both light and air circulation but don't forget - sun will quickly "bleach" damage clothing so hang some blinds above them so you can close when not in use. 4. Clothing racks can be bought but you can make some great heavy duty ones from galvanized pipes and put them on wheels (bought cheap at Harbor Freight). The advantages are, you make them the exact sizes you want and the ability to easily move them on strong wheels and not the rinky dink ones on most pre-made racks. Thoughts on Oasis - cool. If so, consider the area between the 2 sheds for a container garden. Think of all the plastic tubs y'all find for free. You can grow so much in containers. Veggies of all kinds - fresh, cheap, organic and right there. Just buy Heirloom seeds so you can save the ones each year for replanting the next and know they are not GMO. The containers could be arranged around a sitting area like a patio with some small containers in front of them with flowers for decor, some are mosquito and other bug repellent naturally too. Just some ideas.......
