      @@sagecoach What you know can be done economically should be the domain of private industry. If you know the risks and rewards, it is a situation that private companies can do. NASA needs to go faster. Spacex needs the checks and balances that NASA provides. i hope a healthy middle ground can be found. i look forward to some serious changes in our government, even though i do not like either of the candidates we had.

    I think Musk has a reasonable understanding of research, at least on the engineering side.
    He also understands how to organise people to get things done.
    I am not sure if I would want NASA to receive less funding, but maybe they can more done with the resources they have.
    There's always dead wood in an organisation, and Elon is pretty good at finding it.

    There is a saying "Payback is a bugger." While I've watched it happen many times in my 78 years, I find that the better saying is "Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord". The laws of cause and effect are swifter and more powerful than people taking payback into their own hands. I believe Elon also feels that way and for the most part (despite his rants) so does Trump. So the fear NASA and crew should be feeling is not Elon's rath, but the pay back from their own deeds of greed and misuse of power.

    NASA is a typical government agency, zero thought for efficiency or process improvement and 100% about keeping their cushy job and fantastic benefits. The gravy train ends in January and I very much look forward to a streamlined NASA that doesn't waste taxpayer money for a change

    • @kensmith5694
      @kensmith5694 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@RowanMangion1976 I will try to make it clearer. If NASA is working like a space company, they are competing with private industry. There is no reason to even have a NASA if they are doing that. If you are going to have a NASA, it needs to be pushing the boundaries of the unknown. That is something no private company will ever do. You can't work out the risk/reward for that so you can't fund it. So either NASA does stuff that is very different from what a space company does or it should jsut be shut down.
