Can't stop looking at old mate with the lit chequered jacket. I hope when I'm 117 years old I am half as happy as he is watching Smokin Joe. That dude has been touched by the Holy Ghost!
He truly is a treat to be around! I’m lucky to call Palmer a personal friend of mine. He’s a Chet enthusiast and keeps his playing alive, amazing human being he is
Joe is an excellent guitarist. This put a big grin on my face. I thoroughly enjoyed this medley of my favorite Travis and Atkins songs. All played in a warm up-close setting. Thanks for posting!
There's good ol' Palmer Moore right there in front! What a great dude. He sure helped to further finger style guitar out to the people that's for sure! He was a hoot to hang with at CAAS.
Excellent man! I like the stuff you put on "A Little Australian Story" - Certain Failure. The CD cannot be faulted in any way, and the stage show is very funny! Pity the band never took off!!!
A medley of Chet's old repertoire ably interpreted. Very capable artist. I wonder if the gentleman with the plaid sport coat is a relative, or just a godsmacked fan? :) Of course Joe must develop his own music to achieve artistic longevity.
He just put out his second album, he is an original singer songwriter with a respect for those before him. I just saw him again last week, you should check out those vids.
@@Angel68iou1 that guy is Palmer McNiel the founder of the Ohio finger picking club. Unfortunately he passed away a couple of weeks ago . He will be sorely missed in the finger style community! Wonderful man !
It's called Mr. Sandman. The Chordettes version is the most famous, but Chet Atkins did a guitar arrangement of it too. The first time i heard Joe play it, was this video he did in 2009. th-cam.com/video/mQELTGkOXFk/w-d-xo.html
Very good player, but I'm sorry to say that i'm not impressed that much by Maton guitars: same quacky piezo sound as many cheap japanese brands... Piezo sensors are, for most of them, a real sonic disaster. The harmonics stay in the box and thumb bass attacks are pretty harsh
You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Its got an AP5 Pro in it which has a condenser mic mixed in. And you obviously have no idea that this recording is clearly using the Camera audio in - not a direct line so most of the audio is a reflection of the camera. Until you've actually used a Maton in real-life plugged into a quality system - your opinions are totally useless.
@@davidwest9113 You're absolutely right: that's a fact I really missed to consider; as most of videos are made with the camera built-in microphone, what we hear is pretty poor ; As Maton guitars are very rare in Europe, It's hard to have an honest idea of their real quality. I wish I could put my hands on one, someday... In fact, my rant goes to many French "sound engineers" who ruin the sound of many fantastic guitars (Martin, Collings, Bourgeois, Queguiner, Cheval...) as they don't really make efforts to amplify them decently, on stage...
Matons and their pick ups are the best sounding acoustic guitars - not in a band setting as they don’t have the high end to cut through like Taylor and Martin. But as a solo or duo instruments where you need full bass and mids, Matons are unbelievable sounding. I’m a pro muso and have two of them for solo gigs and everyone comments on how amazing the sound is.

He's pissed
The "old mate" is Palmer. A fine picker in his own right. He runs the Ohio thumbpickers club.
He truly is a treat to be around! I’m lucky to call Palmer a personal friend of mine. He’s a Chet enthusiast and keeps his playing alive, amazing human being he is
Then there's the dude on the right just fully analyzing Joe's playing in full serious mode! But in a good way. He knows it's dope! :)
Palmer’s an old friend of mine as well. He has boundless energy for guitar pickin’.

Joe is one treasure of a Guitar Artist ranked up there with Clapton.
....Eric is a 'good' player but Joe has way more technique X10....
Saw him a couple of years ago in Northampton, MA and he was insanely good.
Where in Northampton I live in Easthampton and been a big Chet Fingerstyle guitar pickers fan
Amazing !

Well, that was a really good way to get me over my livestream withdrawal symptoms!😊♥️🇦🇺🎸🎶👏👏👏👏👏
Outstanding as usual
Just absolutely amazing, he looks very young aswell🤔

Hi Joe -seeing you and Tommy in Albany! Merry Christmas and keep pickin
My hand is tired just watching this after five minutes!
Increíble como tocas.
I would be that guy just behind him having a lot of fun with this show
And 10 amazing minutes went by, felt just like 20 seconds..

Just a huge fan like me, luckily I am behind the lens

Joe has developed many albums worth of his own music
the best moment is at 1:38 when the older dude in the front row becomes so super amazed
He’s fully appreciating Joe’s playing.

He's definitely enjoying it 😄
Chet was an idol for later generations.
Tommy Emmanuel is his idol.

You cant get a better front row audience member than Palmer.

It is!
@@annrfrancis Love Palmer, where is this place?
Refectory off of Bethel in Columbus, Ohio.
haha this guy laughing been the only one how understang what joe doing..🤣🤣
Chet Atkins is still the most influenced guitar player, bar none
Deve essere un fan del grande Tommy Emmanuel di cui ne imita quasi la bravura e ne suona le musiche.
