    My favorite marvel villain is Ultron, he was originally an ai designed to help bring peace but after he saw humanity’s history he decided that the only way to have true peace is for all humans to be gone. In What If…? it was interesting seeing what happened when he did achieve his goal and then after obtaining all infinity stones he attempted to destroy EVERYTHING living. Thanos only did half so for ultron to destroy all of it was spectacular.

    I’ve always found it amazing how Magneto had complex motivations which always made him an interesting character to me. The movies also definitely did him justice in how he was portrayed

  • @noelszczepanski6534

    Magneto was powerful and complex. The way he tried to justify being exactly the same as the people he hated but at the same time he had principals.

    Gotta love Doc Ock. He's a sympathetic figure with a tragic story, but that doesn't stop him from being absolutely terrifying. Those snakelike arms with minds of their own are super creepy, and they allowed to him to nearly kill two separate spidermen in two separate movies on his own. He was also able to contain a supercharged Electro when three spidermen couldn't. The movies picked the best actor possible to play him, Alfred Molina is a beast.

    I have to go with William Dafoe's portrayal as Green Goblin. He is a brilliant actor and really makes GG feel like Joker in the sense that he is unhinged and terrifyingly crazy. That laugh during No Way Home was award worthy... As a bonus Dafoe does most of his own stunts as Green Goblin

  • @zedricklamar
    @zedricklamar ปีที่แล้ว +72

    Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin. I thought he was terrifying as a kid watching the OG Spider Man film but No Way Home? Dude was insane. So good!

      Always tough to top your first. And Dafoe can chew scenery with the best of them.

    • @Aliens1337
      @Aliens1337 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What's scary about Green Goblin is that he can dish out plenty of psychological damage with his sadistic and chaotic mannerism, like the Joker BUT he's also physically strong. He took multiple straight punches from Spider Man (who could lift a truck in the MCU) and falling through floors while laughing at Peter.

    Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender both portrayed Magneto wonderfully in my opinion. I love almost all the Fox X-Men movies, but even will all their flaws they managed to do Magneto justice and show just how terrifying he can be.

    Green Goblin, because the character created in the mcu has a psychological complex, which is super interesting and reactive, making it so that we never know what he thinks or is going to do (element of surprise), and of course his laugh is to die for.

    Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) is one of my favourite villains in the MCU. He was such a grey character in the Daredevil series, having clear motivations for making hells kitchen "better" in his own way. The acting from Vincent D'Onofrio was insanely good and the scene where he tells the story about the good samaritan *chef's kiss*

  • @kevypaul
    @kevypaul ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Best MCU villain has to be Kingpin so far, he has the most depth and is genuinely intimidating. Vincent D'Onofrio did an amazing job portraying the character, can't wait to see him in Daredevil: Born Again.

  • @ericphan9123
    @ericphan9123 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    In my opinion, Loki! He’s one of the few characters with massive development throughout not only in the comics, but also in the movies. And staying true to his nature, I feel like I never really know if he’s had a change of heart or if he’s still up to his tricky ways in the new show.

    Before I state my favorite villain I want to point out that the phase 4 villains were very underrated. Wanda, mandarin, green goblin, namor, and even someone like John walker and gorr were good villains. Although none of these are my favorite the mandarin and green goblin can arguably fall in my top 5 and namor and possibly Wanda in my top ten. I think my clear favorite has to be Loki. He’s been around as a great anti-hero since phase 1. Avengers Loki himself is already great but the fact that we got him in all the Thor movies, infinity war and endgame briefly, and his own show just never gets old. Such a charismatic villain with lots of charm for someone so mischievous. Thanos is a close second and I’m pumped for kang but Loki is by far my favorite mcu villain.

  • @nightowlfm
    @nightowlfm ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Honestly, Doc Ock still reigns supreme for me. Alfred Molina's portrayal of the classic character is cold and alien, yet recognises a struggle with humanity and an internal conflict within Octavius. It really holds up today -- especially with No Way Home's reminder -- as one of the best villain portrayals of all time, no less of the Marvel/MCU villains we've had to date. I can't understate how valuable Molina's role as Doc Ock has been for the MCU at large. Absolutely breathtaking work.

    I think the most fascinating villain in the MCU is Thanos. I mean it’s just obvious. He is the very reason that the MCU is as big as it is today, and every other series is trying to mimic the feeling that marvel gave when they introduced this character to the big screen. He is a character that had to watch his family and people die because of a real world problem that we are facing. From that trauma he saw a need in the galaxy and tried to solve it with no avail, until he solved it by force. To me he is the equal to Heath Ledgers joker, a villain who is wrong but we can see why he landed where he did.

    As some other people have already mentioned Magneto is probably my favorite. He's such an interesting character with very understandable motivations, one of my favorite things about Magneto and Professor X that not a lot of people know is that they were made to be analogues to Malcolm X and MLK Jr respectively. When you think about their philosophies you can really see the similarities. So, that's why I think Magneto is great, he's got a complicated backstory with strong yet questionable motivations, and you're always left wondering if maybe his philosophy is more realistic than Charles's.

    • @jontay4199
      @jontay4199 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      100% agree. I made a comment about this, but what sets magneto apart for me is that if you really dive into his paradigm, it’s one of the most realistic. He makes me think (and I feel this never when I think of villains) that what he’s doing, if I were him, I might do the exact same thing in his spot. That to me defines him as the best. Thanos can say anything he wants about mercy, and doing the thing that no one has the guts to do for everyone, and he’s doing it for the right reasons- I just don’t believe it. The guy that cares that much about helping people, he’s typically against forced euthanasia- that’s up for debate but skipping that, the biggest problem is, he doesn’t even have the final solution. He didn’t stunt our reproductive capacities, and he didn’t change how much food exists in the universe- both of which appear to be far better solutions to the issues. So, even if he’s right, he just delayed the inevitable. Really made me dislike his motivations.

  • @seandavies2018
    @seandavies2018 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Not MCU, but have to hand it to Magneto. He's not an 'evil for evil's sake' baddie. He genuinely wants to save his people and after all he's lived through, he understands that's not going to come through using existing systems of geopolitics (sorry Charles). He's also honorable enough to fill in as headmaster at Xavier's School when asked multiple times in the past.
    Loving your content Cozy - you're the first/only SNAP creator I've subbed - keep up the great work!

    I will always love Killmonger and Michael B. Jordan’s portrayal of him. It’s not new to marvel to have a villain you can see the viewpoint of, but Killmonger brought that to a deeply socially relevant level with the beliefs he held. I think Killmonger is one of the biggest reasons Black Panther was as incredible and poignant as it was.

    Hey Cozy, don't hate on this month's titles! They're actually kind of good for once! I personally love "Few Cubes Short of a Rank" because it's so true.

    Almost definitely the Red Skull for me, he was the main villain when I first started to watch marvel and he was insane. I thought he was so cool, and seeing him in endgame really made me reminisce back on my childhood. He is just so nostalgic for me, he reminds me of seeing the avengers for the first time whenever I see him , he holds a special place for me. Oh, and the scene where he unmasks himself in front of Captain America was insane! I loved how he just nonchalantly threw his mask down into the flames below as if he didn’t even care. He was my introduction to Marvel and a perfect villain too. The whole concept of Hydra just really captivated me, how a group, working from the inside could form a huge threat and exploit their knowledge.

  • @jontay4199
    @jontay4199 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I always want to point to magneto for my favourite villain, but for best villain, that depends on how you measure villainy. I often view him as an anti hero. His methods and philosophy often matches the villains he opposes, but his justification for his actions is sound and 100% believable. That makes him the best villain to me, because when I put myself in the BBEG’s shoes, no other villain makes me think- would I really do anything different?

  • @CaptainDonliski

I actually really liked both of the villains namor and killmonger from the mcu black panther movies, as their cultural significance feels so welly done, especially with the both do these villains motives are very welly articulated and allows for a level of u understanding with the villains perspective. As a Mexican myself I love all of the cultural references to the Mayan culture that namor brings, and I really love how they captured so many various aspects from the architecture to the actually societal norms. I was always a fan of Magneto. His plans were grand and kind of noble given his backstory and desire to keep safe those that have been prosecuted (of course, doing so through mass murder does take away some sympathy). I especially loved how hard he counters the usually unkillable Wolverine. I always thought that him being able to fully control and even rip out Wolverine's adamantium was such an interesting interaction that was a direct weakness of an otherwise unstoppable hero.

    Besides Doctor Doom, Norman Osborn has had some truly iconic moments, from uncovering Spider-Man's secret identity and almost ending his life, to throwing Gwen Stacy off a bridge in a tragedy that still resonates today. He also talked down a Skrull imposter of Captain Marvel and then maneuvered his way into controlling HAMMER. He even used his own experience with mental illness to get Sentry on his side, and then there's the Red Goblin.

    I unexpectedly found Arthur Harrow from Moon Knight very fascinating. He has an interesting past, that instantly connects him to our hero (having been the previous Moon Knight). He clearly sees himself as the good guy and has a believeable, if misguided motivation. His powers of "judging people" are very creative. And finally the actor (Ethan Hawke - now that sounds like a superhero name all of its own) gives an amazing performance, making him seem mild-mannered and charmismatic, yet manipulative and dangerous all at once.

    Magneto is my favourite villain. Ever since I randomly picked up a X-Men book in like 3rd grade I have loved the character and it started my love for Marvel and comics.

    Michael Keaton's Vulture is one of my favorite villains ever created for the MCU. The aesthetics and tone are just right and It's a travesty how underused he was.
    Honorary mention to Alfred Molina's Otto Octavius, another exceptionally well portrayed villain.

    Killmonger for sure. Not only his looking in Black Panther suits are one of my favourite in mcu, but his back story, motivation and ideology is so iconic in my opinion.

    Loki is one of many popular villains who has moved into being more of an antihero, or even out-and-out superhero, repositioning himself not as the god of lies, but as the god of stories

    Michael B Jordan played Killmonger amazingly. He was a villain who changed T'challa's view. He was someone who seen the suffering and wanted to make change but in the wrong way. T'challa was a different person to who he was because on the impact from Killmonger

    My personal favourite would have to be Michael Keaton's Vulture. His acting is, simply put, perfect and the plot twist toward the end of Spider-Man Homecoming is one of my favourite scenes in the whole series. An honorable mention though would be Killmonger, who provided the heart and thoughtfulness of Black Panther.

    I've always been a huge fan of Onslaught. Professor X and Magneto "combining" to form one of the most powerful villains ever was just a great move and Onslaught had some sick powers. One of my favourite story lines, too.

    For movie Marvel villains I gotta say that Doc Ock or Mysterio are my favorites, Ock because he is very human and we see that through the movie and even more after NWH and how he just gets to fight and eventually win against his own evils. Mysterio is definetely different cus I like how petty he is, and I’ve always loved his fishbowl design and I’m so glad the movies decided to keep that rather than be scared of the camp and change the face

    I actually really liked the Vulture as a villain. This was one of those times where they really made me think, I could see myself doing that. Desperate to provide for my family, see a big opportunity that isn’t exactly legal but it’ll protect those I care about.

    Michael Keaton’s Vulture in spiderman alumni homecoming is one of MCU’s villains that inspires me to be a villain as well. It just puts into all our perspectives that hero/villain is very subjective, and if you would have a power to rise up as one, if you are a minority then you may never know if you will be a villain or a hero on everybody’s eyes since people have double standards on some things. I believe that vulture in spiderman is the only villain I can relate with than any of the other villains in the MCU. He is a villain with a cause (a small guy, cornered and mocked by a big guy and just went resourceful to be able to just survive). He even has the courtesy to keep Peter’s secret at the end of the film. Vulture, a villain in everyone’s eyes but for me, just small time resourceful father trying to make ends meet

    Since i was a kid i love Doctor Octavius and i was never an avid reader. I think it's because of the robotic arms... And I was lucky he got one of the best development on the big screen on one of the best heroes movie. Great guy Otto 😛

    For MCU for me aside from Loki and Killmonger, it's The Vulture. He's a blue collar guy who's working just to keep his family and business afloat. Then he was forced to do something about it and used what he had and tried to turn back what the Government and Stark took away from him. But what made it more scary is he's the father of Liz. I did not see that coming.

    Carnage was always my "favorite" villain because he was just the incarnation of bloodlust like a visceral force of nature. A serial killer got superpowers, now that's frightening! My favorite complex character was Magneto. Of course, my jam in HS was X-Men and Spiderman so that had some influence 😜

    Best villain in the MCU is Hugo Weaving’s Red Skull from Captain America: The First Avenger. That costume was absolutely perfect and he did a fantastic job as the Red Skull. Glad to see he didn’t die when Infinity War came around, disappointed Hugo didn’t come back to play the role.
