    just wanted to drop by and say that the Malaysian Armed Forces (especially PASKAL SF) still have XM8s in their inventory, what's interesting is their Sharpshooter variants have Picatinny handguards lol.

    Would honestly love a mass-production civilian XM8, even if it cost ~$1500, I would buy it at some point. Too many memories from Bad Company 2 to pass up the opportunity for a real version of it

      1500$ for an HK rifle seems a bit optimistic to me.
      I don't know all that much about prices in the US, but here the cheapest HK semiauto rifles still cost over 2000$

    This is the gun I always wanted since bad company 2. Since it's cancelation I had the same idea to use g36 parts in a xm8 frame. I'm happy to see that someone has gone ahead and proved to me that is was possible.

      If u can't get the real firearm you can get a airsoft version. Airsoft tech is always chasing more realism and quality. Just won't shoot real bullets since it's for gaming and shooting yr friends with.

    I would love HK to revisit the XM8 and see what they can do today for improvements. Also would like to see it in other calibers, like a .300 or a 6.5 grendal.

    I was in 3/3 ACR back in 97-98 when there was a lot of serious talk that we would be the regular army test unit for this firearm. Sad that the system never even got that far.

    I loved the XM8 Without even knowing of it's existence. The first time I saw it, it was in the form of a Smart Parts SP8 a paintball replica after that I only learnt of the Existence of the XM8 and still love it. Thank you Tommy Built for the SL8 Conversion so it will live on.

    This is my favourite gun of all time. I agree that this gun had a massive amount of potential especially, considering the fact that it was a modular weapon system that was ahead of its time. I would love to see it make a comeback in some way.

      I would agree. And even at that, they have improved over the years. And some of his earliest videos, I think it was a little bit gratuitous, especially with the added sound effects. Over the last 2 years or so, his producer has really got the perfect balance of real-time footage, and slow most stuff. The editing is exceptional.

    I used this gun playing SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals on PlayStation 2 and always wondered why I never saw one in a gun store or on a movie or something like that. They should put it back in production one of these days.

      Both, HK designed the G36 and by extension the XM8 to have a slightly lower rate of fire in order to keep it more controllable. And Larry's a beast.

    Wow, this gun is so futuristic it can slow down time as you fire it, making it easier for the soldier to hit his targets at intense situations. German engineering at it's finest.

    Ghost Recon comes to mind. I remember when these were featured in Army Times when I was a PV2 or Specialist (Sham Shield!!!).

    I've always liked this gun's shape, so it's one of my favorite rifles in every game that has it, specially in Black Ops 2 (M8A1). I wish I had one airsoft replica of this one.

    Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. I used this rifle all the time. There was another rifle called the MR-C GL that was never built but it was designed. that was so cool as well

      When you're in pain, you tend to avoid strenuous physical exertion lest it aggravate the pain.
      When you don't exercise, you get fat.
      When you get fat, you tend to stay fat unless you exert yourself physically, even if you're in pain.

      @mayte diet also has a ton to do with it. If you ear right you can do minimal calestinics to stay in shape. JS

He has a laundry list of injuries; the exact same numbness in his legs Larry describes from nerve damage, he has knee cartiledge damage bad enough that his knee had to get surgically rebuilt, shoulder cuff damage, he has damaged vertebrae from his time in Iraq for which he was airlifted out of country and had to get multiple surgeries for. Oh ya and he recieved a Bronze Star for this and much more. Despite all this my pops is still in reasonable shape and never got anywhere near as fat as Vickers. No offense to him I respect his service but thats not a valid excuse. Nutritional science experts say diet is solely responsible for about 80% of weight gain/loss. You cant outrun a bad diet. People dont want to accept this but its the truth.

    I ran a smart parts sp8 paintball gun in scenarios for several years (modeled 1/1 after this rifle). Came to love the ergonomics, even compared to real ar-15’s. Just pointed very naturally, especially in the carbine configuration.

      Noticed that too in the slo-mo shots - still, Larry managed to put two 5.56mm's on top each other on the steel plate, so accuracy couldn't have been TOO badly affected ;-)
