Tim always hated Dawes and he was a Miller fanatic, so hardly surprising. Laughable he acts like Miller was robbed when she nearly fell flat on her face on the dismount.
How on earth could she get such a high score when she almost fell on her face on the dismount, LOL! What a joke. Shannon is truly one of the most overscored and overgifted of unearned medals in history.
It's one thing to route for your fave but it's another to ignore certain stuff.Shannon did not hold several of her positions as well as she was low on her dismount, she nearly touched the ground again! Dawes deserved this and was done her fair share! look at shannon's floor routine no difficulty as well as one of her passes she is totally twisted not even standing straight but look at her score! I love shannon miller and dominique dawes but lets call it like it is please!
Lies... She was not just low on the dismount but SUPER low here on beam. On floor she does almost NO difficulty compare to Dawes... She STILL with this IS the best gymnast of all time? Hmm. Then u shouldn't have a problem with it or this as she still is the best of all time to you. Also there were uh a FEW times Shannon herself was given inflated scores over others... But here that is NOT the case as I stated. She almost fell on the dismount. Dawes won fair on beam and floor. Period.
More like, by 1994, everyone was OVER poor Shannon Miller. Look no further than the 1993 US Nationals and 1994 Goodwill Games to witness how ridiculously overscored MIller was in comparison to other competitors..
She was scored according to her performance- which was nearly flawless. The one who was over her was YOU- and your opinion doesn’t matter to anyone but you yourself.
Who deserved to beat Miller at 93 nats? Noone. At 94 GWGs she lost to Kochetkova in the AA. She won beam and floor titles, you can argue she was over scored on floor there but she was consistently scoring well because she used the code to her advantage (having a 10 SV).
She nearly fell on her face on the dismount. Ridiculous gift overscore, as usual for Shannon Miller one of the most overscored gymmnasts in gymnastics history.
The most overscored gymnasts of all time- were from the Soviet Union. Shannon was scored according to the code of that time, and many scores from many athletes seemed a little high to the average layman. She however certainly DID earn her world and Olympic champion status!
Always been overrated...very basic routine, little difficulty and still with errors. The bias ppl had for her is beyond me. She is a talented athlete...but a lot of it was just hype
A lot of it was her coach Steve Nunno was a gangster and threatened to kill judges who didn't overscore her, coaches who spoke out against her, and even fans who were seen criticizing her. He has killed 5 people so very scary man.
@@cullerjones Nunno may have been mental but not a murderer, maybe your confusing him with the Karolyis or Nasser. Further this routine was not basic, high difficulty, and had no errors other than her dismount, something she rarely did (land that low- it gave her problems in the AA too). Its not may fave set of hers, I prefer her 92 and 93 beam sets, but she won worlds in 94 with the exact routine and a stuck dismount.
Shannon is everything on beam gymnast are not today. I love her form, and elegance is so beautiful.
I love how she keeps the twist of the full twisting double back, laid out. Makes it so beautiful.
A full in double back was amazing. Her difficulty was amazing!
We all still love you Shannon
Tim Dagget seemed pro Shannon here… Dawes was clearly the sharper gymnast at this National Championships in 1994

very interesting leotard.....but I still love shannon miller!
To me this is the most unbelievable physical feat any human being has e er
Ever done

thank you
Tracksuit1000 she was not over scored. She was judged pretty fairly.
Her form was incredibly amazing

And there is nothing you can do about it:)
Why so harsh, aside from the dismount it almost looks like she's performing on the floor, very few wobbles.
She’s amazing

Agreed, what a ridiculous overscore.
Lets be real if her full in was any lower she would have scrapped skin off her shoulders
How she got a score above 9.7 with that dismount is unbelievable.
