    Didnt realize the one way stretch of the vinyl! Thanks for tip. I need to test material to see what it does before patterning and panel stretching.

    Thanks very much for explaining the patterning. I was having trouble thinking when you need a pattern and when you don’t for a motorcycle seat.

    What foam do you use over the rebond foam?

    • @AtomicAutoworksTV
      @AtomicAutoworksTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      We actually us a lot of different foams. It depends on riders height, weight and riding style.

    Should I put thin plastic wrap on seat before putting on seat cover? Thanx

    • @AtomicAutoworksTV
      @AtomicAutoworksTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We personally almost never use it. Some people use it to make ease of cover installation . Other people use it for water resistance however we find it traps the water between the seat cover and foam. Also the foam under the plastic still receives moisture and that is now trapped in the foam. We like to let them air breath

      @@jennifersmith6138 yes we just use the cheap tape for this that doesn’t stick well.

    Quick question ! i tried the tape for pattern but where the tape has more rounded shape it doesnt transpose well on the vinyl because the tape doesnt stretch right so the markings doesnt line up ! how do you cope with that ? Do you cut the tape so it can lay flat ?

    • @jean-michelavoine8043
      @jean-michelavoine8043 ปีที่แล้ว

      by the way your great work explaining ! love your videos

    • @AtomicAutoworksTV
      @AtomicAutoworksTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to make sure you are not forming your tape. Let the tape stay flat as it is normally. If you can not do this make sure to pattern with thick plastic instead .

    I am having a problem with my alignment marks lining up any suggestion

    • @AtomicAutoworksTV
      @AtomicAutoworksTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The pattern has to be perfect. Make your marks and then separate the pattern. Their are many reason’s alignment marks don’t line up. Stretch of material, adding sew foam to the back. All these need to be factored in when patterning. Hope that helps. If not please feel free to send us pics or videos of your problem and we will gladly help you out. Stay on it , keep focused and soon enough you’ll look back and laugh at what you thought were problems.
