One Halloween, when I was only a couple years younger than your daughter, I insisted my mom take down a rubber bat she'd hung from the ceiling because I was sure it would come alive. I've since grown into a 28 year old woman who can no longer walk through haunted houses because I've hit people out of fear. Basically, what I'm saying is you're raising a bada$$.
I stay tuned in a horse channel. The poor girl had a riding accident and was in a coma for a while. Her daughter dressed a scarecrow in her clothes, her clothes stuffed with hay, and their small dog just sits and lays beside it and growls when anyone tries to get near it or touch it. It just looks up at it like it's sick and needs protecting. So pitiful. She was gone for over a month or two I think.
