    I studied statistical thermodynamics in my BSc but could not get anything from there but at the end of this class I get something what is needed and it is also important topic for my MSc 2nd sem exam . Thank you much ma'am from the bottom of my heart for this precious lecture

    Last time during GATE i had to prepare this chapter because for net it was not that necessary for me. I was looking for this video and search few times but didn't get. Then i read this chapter from Engel and Reid and Atkins.
    But now it is good to see that j chemisty came at last with statiscal thermodynamic. And hopefully i qualified both.

    Answer: W=1 Since it is a linear molecule . Only One orientation is possible.

    S(residual entropy)=kb ln 1=0

    For hydrogen molecule two orientations are same because two hydrogen atoms are same
    But for 1,2-Difluorobenzene molecule two fluorines are same and each orientations also named as 1,2-Difluorobenzene but why each
    orientation is different?

    And in C2H2 W=1

    Maaam number of arrangement le kiye it is not defined like we have to rotate by only 60 degree so i think infinity number of orientation are possible that means we still need some constrain to calculate the number of ways

    How can one calculate the number of arrangements/microstates by simply rotating the molecule on the plane? I can achieve a greater number of arrangements if I rotate it vertically.

    It is a linear molecule so rotation is 1 and then w=1.

    I think... HCCH is a linear molecule and symmetrical from both side. Hence, it should have
    No. of arrangements (w) = 1
    And so Residual Entropy (S) = 0
