As a buddy, I think I can safely say that Twice did amazing. This is known to be one of Gfriend’s most breathtaking (by breathtaking I mean cardio heavy. Like you’ll probably be out of breath after doing that choreo) choreos, so obviously it was a challenge considering Twice’s choreo at the time. They sang beautifully and danced beautifully. I'm watching this while thinking about Wonder Girls when they covered SNSD's Kissing You, then I realize that JYP's artists, especially girlgroups, just suit a particular concept only, like they do not fit to any other concept, especially cute, pure, innocent. I don't mean their looks, but their vocal. It's not a bad thing though, but I just realize it. SM's artists can try and own all kind of concepts, YG's artists can be either cute (AKMC and LeeHi) or badass, but JYP artists are made with a particular concept, they can not change it no matter what. Ex: WGs (retro), MissA (USUK pop - until now, I still think MissA did tried many many concepts like pop, R&B, kind of hiphop, and Touch is still my favorite song from them), and Twice (I still figuring their concept, but most likely cute concept doesn't fit them). Once again, I'm talking about their vocals, not their looks.
I agree though I would say their overall aura just doesn't change or suit certain concepts. On one hand, it's good since that indicates a strong branding concept but at the same time, it lacks versatility. Twice can't do innocent refreshing (I just came from watching their cover of Windy Day and A-ing and it felt odd). Maybe it's because they already look older and debuted with a highschool+ age setting. Maybe it's the outfits?
