    You have some very creative solutions!! I love how you thought outside of the box to find something that would work for you. Great job!

      Thank you so much! We really can't take all the credit - Our Journey in Myles really came up with the idea for the board and we just piggybacked off their idea (with their permission!) Thanks so much for your nice comments and as always, thanks for stopping by!

    getting out is easy, its the fall down is the issue. i had a huge problem getting into a window once because we locked ourselves out of the rig!. so yes being prepared for the worst is an awesome idea and great to teach all in the rig too. great video guys! very important info!

      Thank you!! That means a lot - and yes, that drop down is just too scary! Like our son said, "Who built this!!"😂

    oh, my! I never really thought of how far that drop is! Good thoughts here - we always had fire drills as kids in school, it's a good reminder we need to keep doing them as adults. :) Great video!!!

      It's crazy, huh!! And yes, we realized there are enough RV fires that you can never say, "It won't happen to me!" Thanks for your comments. Really appreciate it!

    All good information! Very nicely done. I hope you guys don’t burn to death if there’s an actual fire. Phoebe, let’s hear your plan for revenge!

      Oh she's got one, I am certain! Thanks so much for helping with the video, giving your awesome insights and for watching, liking and commenting 😂! Hugs!

    What a valuable thing to think about and practice! One thing to add to the task list if going out the window. Close that bedroom door. It won't do a lot but anything that helps block radiant heat or slows some smoke is a good thing.

    • @2RR
      @2RR  ปีที่แล้ว

      We thought about adding that step in (closing the door). It’s such a toss up with the super short amount of time, but yes, if the fire started in the front closing the door would be a huge help. Thanks so much for stopping by!

    Great video! I've often looked at those windows and wondered about all of the issues you addressed here! Suggestion: Get some respirator masks that filter smoke and hang them by your bed within arms reach. Putting that on first would buy you some time. They're not expensive compared to the value of a life. :)

      Ooo, I like that! That might make another good video as an add on! Thanks for stopping by 😁

    Keep practicing guys. 20 seconds is a big challenge! The windows exits are not ideal but I guess when your adrenaline is pumping you would be going a little faster. Nice to know about the fireproof cloaks. We will have to look for those.

    • @2RR
      @2RR  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the 20 seconds is pretty tight, but we keep practicing, like you said! thanks so much for your comments and support!

      Haha! Well, we will take that as a compliment. But the idea goes to Marc from Our Journey in Myles. Thank you for stopping by, though!

    THIS IS AN EXCELLENT VIDEO. I would ADD a lanyard between the ladder and RV so if you drop it out the window in the panic during install it is only 3" away! I am going to ADD the fixed "flip-pad idea" to MY board which is really too heavy. Do you have to worry about your scissors mechanism chopping off your fingers if it collapses when your hands are there?

    • @2RR
      @2RR  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you sooo much! I am so glad you liked it! And no - at least it never acted up while we were testing it. That’s probably something to keep in mind, though! And I like the lanyard idea! I’ll add that one! Again, thank you so much. I’ll keep you posted when we do a follow up video incorporating these ideas and a couple more others have given us. Take care and thank you so much for stopping by!

    Lol who is thinking "so what?!?" to falling out of the camper. I would hate to break bones

    • @2RR
      @2RR  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We sure aren't! If you fall out and break something, you are not likely to get away from a burning exploding RV very quickly, so, yeah, we aren't wanting to just jump out the window if there's an alternate. Trouble is, there's no great way to get out. That's why at least having a plan of SOME kind is helpful. Thanks for stopping by!

    Awesome video -thank you! I wonder if there is some kind of oxygen mask that could be put on quickly to help prevent smoke inhalation? Either way, my spouse and I were sitting on the fence between purchasing the Tiffin Allegro Open Road and Tiffin Red 360. Red 360 comes with the bedside ladder exit system as an option as you showed at the end of the video. In addition to some other benefits of the RED, I think this safety option is pushing us over to the RED to purchase. I hope you both never have to face a real life fire evacuation!

    • @2RR
      @2RR  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with your choice of coach. If we had to do over again, and we saw that that was an option we probably would go that way too. Is the open road you’re considering new or used? Because I know on the new Open Roads, you can have that exit installed. Either way, I’m glad our video helped you. That’s precisely why we did it. To hopefully help others. Thank you for your nice comment and thank you for stopping by. We will be doing a follow up video and I’ll include your suggestion of oxygen in the video and explore that a little bit. Thank you again for stopping bye

      An aviation supply place, like Sportys sell smoke hoods that would work for this purpose.

    I need to diet if I’m going to fit out the window and land gracefully

    • @2RR
      @2RR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Crazy, huh! I mean, we fit, but it’s just not a great way to try and get out! Thanks for watching!

      You know, Laurie, that was something we talked about in the making of the video. I am going to address that very topic in a follow up video later this year. But, off the top of my head, we are pretty sure a dog would be reasonably easy to get out, but a cat could be another story. Many of them get really spooked in emergencies and will hide somewhere where they can be VERY hard to retrieve! And even if you COULD grab them, without a carrier (which there is no time to stuff them into), they are squirmy and would likely take off. So, yeah, it's a tough question. Thank you for watching and commenting. Keep an eye out for the follow up and I'll try and address that. If you have any ideas about how to get a kitty out safely, I would love to hear them! Thanks for stopping by!
