Unfulfilled/The Color of Sunrise: Orchestral Arrangement (Fire Emblem: Three Houses)

I have returned to uploading video game arrangements! It's been a while since I've had a chance to do something like this, as I've largely been focusing on creating music and sound design for indie video games. I know this isn't the first time I've taken a break, and it might not be the last, but I always want to keep coming back to creating content when I can. Creating orchestrations of video game music tracks that I enjoy is a passion of mine, and I enjoy sharing what I create with you all.
This track is a mix between two of my favorite emotional tunes in Three Houses, Unfulfilled and The Color of Sunrise. This is perhaps a break from my usual rhythmic, high-intensity style, and is a much more laid back, chill mix. I wanted to capture the feeling of the timeskip, with a melancholy tone that turns into hope as the protagonist, Byleth, returns to the world. With a good teacher to guide them, those who are lost will find their way.
Anyways, and as always, I appreciate comments as they are a good source of motivation.

PS: Three Houses is very similar to FE4; Genealogy of the Holy War. The lords are based on minor antagonists in FE4, Sigurd, Travant, & Arvis. Those Who Slither in the Dark are based on the Loptr cult, and Byleth is strikingly similar in appearance to Seliph, the protagonist.

@@maxrichards3881 honestly i don't see the similarities in sigurd = dimitri or claude = travant
maybe edelgard and arvis have parallels but that's about it. then again that's my opinion. i just wanted to clarify that sigurd is the protagonist of fe4 part 1

This is beautiful. It actually had me crying from the very start.
The use of the various instrument timbres, the balance in volume.
Even the use of the Three Houses motifs, in such a well orchestrated manner.
If I didn't know the game's soundtrack, I'd say this is part of the game because it just sounds that convincing.
This is an amazing job. The people who hire you to make their soundtracks definitely picked an amazing artist. Move onward!

The colour of sunrise... the one Edelgard only sees if we choose her, and as a result, force everyone else's hopes, wishes, and dreams to go unfulfilled. That's the saddest thing about this game. Whatever you do, whatever you choose, you're condemning someone to death. That's why this game is so good. Because everyone is right and wrong in their own way (except Rhea. In my opinion, she was just all-around wrong), and we have to choose based on what we believe in.
Been replaying three houses lately. I think the biggest standout for me was the support conversations between Marianne and Dimitri, my two favorite characters. The mental struggles they went through felt so realistic and how they handled them even more so. It made me really happy seeing them interact and openly share their feelings with each other, both thinking “they get it”. I’m not much of a shipper, but damn if these two aren’t a match.
Wonderful work as always. Your music never ceases to inspire. If a three houses movie ever gets made, you’d be a perfect fit for the music department.

You should do a Fire Emblem Awakening mashup. I know it’d be a blast from the past, but I can’t even imagine how good something like Don’t Speak Her Name would sound with this type of orchestration.

I have been thinking about making a mashup like this for so long but its not like I am anywhere near as great as you...but i just want to thank you for making this!! the reason I wanted to remix these two songs is because I think it'd make a great golden route ending where everyone lives :( I am fortunate enough to have found this because this was what exactly what I had in mind!!
If there was an ending where Claude, Dimitri & Edelgard are friends or have an paired ending, I want this to play in the credits :(( You did an amazing job!!!

So I played this game in this order:
Black Eagles
Golden Deer
Blue Lions
Church
I played it in that order because I did not like Dimitri.
After beating Blue Lions, not only did it become my favorite route by far, Dimitri also became my favorite character by far. Holy fuck, all the routes are sad as heck in their own way, but Dimitri’s broke my frigging heart. Obviously I heard unfulfilled in all the routes after the time skip, but it really felt like Dimitri’s song and it hit hard.

It reminds me of all the sweat and tears I put into my project, alongside all of the memories I have playing Fire Emblem throughout my program. Anyway, thank you again so much for arranging this so beautifully, it really fills my heart!
@@KARINEMOOSE First of all, congrats on that! I know how big of a deal that is, and I'm honored that this track is fitting for such a big life milestone. Fire Emblem helped me get through my higher ed music program too, and my obsession with its soundtrack (and JRPGs in general) continues to fuel my own inspiration for composing.
