FFXI Ambuscade - Soulflayer (December 2023)

Pretty annoying month to tank with the stuns, full dispel, silences, and enfeebles they do.
First shield you can break on the flayer by ranged Weaponskills and critical hits but if its not broken fast enough you will lose because you can't break it with the 2nd shield up.
Not much else - you could enfeeble the soul flayer more than I did but he's not that much of a threat after the imps are dead.
Ranged players should try to reduce their threat to pull the mobs as it can turn south fast with one TP or magic move. Odyssey gear is great for that.

tank + brd geo whm rng cor seems to be the quickest way, don't feed imps tp and it's quick and painless
